  • In this paper , the simple MPPT(Maximum Power Point Tracking) control algorithm is proposed for the grid-connected photovoltaic power system. This method uses the difference in the slope of the solar array voltage range below the MPP and above the MPP. This simple the algorithm enables the hardware implementation achieved by only analog devices. The proposed MPPT algorithm is verified by the hardware experiment using 500[W] solar away simulator, simplified inverter model hardware set, and rectified grid-line.

  • We have designed data processing server system to include data archiving, photometric processing and light curve analysis for KMTNet (Korea Microlensing Telescope Network). Outputs of each process are reported to the main photometric database, which manages the whole processing steps and archives the photometric results. The database is developed using ORACLE 11g Release 2 engine. It allows to select objects applying any set of criteria such as RA/DEC coordinate and Star ID, etc. We tested the performance of the database using the OGLE photometric data. The searching time for querying 70,000,000 records was under 1 second. The database is fully accessed using query forms via web page.

  • This paper presents the development of electromagnetic wave detecting equipment for diagnosis of enclosed switchboard. High voltage power equipments are very important equipment of the key industries and the private enterprise. Power line accidents are national plans because of those set off casualties lose of power equipments and communication networks. Therefore the necessity of the development of detecting for power equipment diagnosis is demand for prevention of high voltage equipment accidents. This paper is the development of electromagnetic wave detecting equipment for diagnosis of high voltage equipment. This paper establishes the diagnosis method for high voltage power equipments, that secures original technique and possesses detecting technique for electromagnetic wave. By the study we developed electromagnetic wave detector, and we applied this equipment application tests at the place constructed high voltage equipments.

  • Heat transfer characteristics for an air jet vertically impinging on a flat plate with a set of hybrid rods was investigated numerically using the RNG k-$\varepsilon$turbulent model. A commercial finite-volume code FLUENT is used. The rods had cross sections of half circular and rectangular shapes. The heating surface was heated with a constant heat flux value of $1020W/m^2$. Parameters investigated were the jet Reynolds number, nozzle -to-plate spacing, the rod pitch and rod-to-plate clearance. The local and average Nusselt number were found to be dependent on the rod pitch and the clearance because installing rods disturbed the flow. Higher convective heat transfer rate occurred in the whole plate as well as in the wall jet region.

  • The LIMs performance on-line monitoring system is proposed by using LabVIEW software and A/D board. The on-line monitoring system set-up can measure input voltage. current, power, power factor, electromagnetic thrust, and efficiency etc. This paper reports data on LIM performance measured by the proposed on-line monitoring system.

  • A power limiting algorithm is proposed for stable operation of grid-connected inverter in case of grid voltage unbalance considering the operation limit of inverter. During the voltage unbalance the control performance of Inverter. is degraded and the output power contains 120Hz ripple due to the negative sequence of voltage. In this paper, conventional dual sequence current controller is implemented to solve these problems using separated control of positive and negative sequence. Especially the maximum power limit which guarantees the maximum rated current of the inverter is automatically calculated as the instant grid voltage changes. As soon as the voltage recovers the proposed algorithm can return to the normal power control mode accomplishing low voltage ride through. Proposed algorithm is verifed using PSCAD/EMTDC simulations and tested experimentally at 4.4kW wind turbine simulator set-up.

  • Similar to present computers, quantum computers comprise quantum bits (qubits) and an operating system. However, because the quantum states are fragile, we need to correct quantum errors using entangled physical qubits with quantum error correction (QEC) codes. The combination of entangled physical qubits with a QEC protocol and its computational model are called a logical qubit and fault-tolerant quantum computation, respectively. Thus, QEC is the heart of fault-tolerant quantum computing and overcomes the limitations of noisy intermediate-scale quantum computing. Therefore, in this study, we briefly survey the status of QEC codes and the physical implementation of logical qubit over various qubit technologies. In summary, we emphasize 1) the error threshold value of a quantum system depends on the configurations and 2) therefore, we cannot set only any specific theoretical and/or physical experiment suggestion.

  • In the intracranial regions, an accurate delineation of the target volume has been difficult with only the CT data due to poor soft tissue contrast of CT images. Therefore, the magnetic resonance images (MRI) for the delineation of the target volumes were widely used. To calculate dose distributions with MRI-based RTP, the electron density (ED) mapping concept from the diagnostic CT images and the pseudo CT concept from the MRI were introduced. In this study, the look up table (LUT) from the fifteen patients' diagnostic brain MRI images was created to verify the feasibility of MRI-based RTP. The dose distributions from the MRI-based calculations were compared to the original CT-based calculation. One MRI set has ED information from LUT (lMRI). Another set was generated with voxel values assigned with a homogeneous density of water (wMRI). A simple plan with a single anterior 6MV one portal was applied to the CT, lMRI, and wMRI. Depending on the patient's target geometry for the 3D conformal plan, 6MV photon beams and from two to five gantry portals were used. The differences of the dose distribution and DVH between the lMRI based and CT-based plan were smaller than the wMRI-based plan. The dose difference of wMRI vs. lMRI was measured as 91 cGy vs. 57 cGy at maximum dose, 74 cGt vs. 42 cGy at mean dose, and 94 cGy vs. 53 at minimum dose. The differences of maximum dose, minimum dose, and mean dose of the wMRI-based plan were lower than the lMRI-based plan, because the air cavity was not calculated in the wMRI-based plan. These results prove the feasibility of the lMRI-based planning for brain tumor radiation therapy.

A Study for Utilization and constitution of MMSS (MMSS 시스템 구성 및 활용에 대한 연구)

  • We have developed the Mobile Multi Sensor System(MMSS) for the data construction of 4S application and for basic technology acquisition of mobile mapping system in Korea. Using this MMSS, we will collect the information of road and road facilities for DB creation and also construct the Digital Elevation Model(DEM) as ancillary data in urban area. The MMSS consist of the integrated navigation sensor, DGPS & IMU, and digital CCD camera set. In the S/W aspect, we developed the post-processing components for extracting the 3D coordinate information (Spatial Information) and the client program for the MMSS user group. In this paper, we will overview the MMSS constitution and post-processing program, and introduce the utilization plan of MMSS.
