In radiation therapy, the goal of three dimensional conformal radiation therapy(3DCRT) is to conform the apatial distribution of the prescribed radiation dose to the precise 3D configuration of the tomor, and at the same time, to minimize the dose to the surrounding normal tissues. To optimize treatment volume of tomor, treatment volume will be same tomor volume. Biological considerations need to be incorporated in the intensity modulation optimization process. Planning of intensity modulated treatment can irradiate more 20% in tomor compare to conventional 3DCRT. In lung cancer and rectal cancer, planning of intensity modulated treatment showed optimizing dose distribution.

The purpose of this study is to measure and evaluate the thermal conditions of large cruiser's cabin. As the result of this study, followings are cleared. The air volume supplied to the 2 types of cabins is quite diffenrent. Temperature differences in the Room A which is located A deck and supplied enough air volume is stable all around the cabin. But Room B which is located B deck and supplied comparatively small air volume has temperature distribution problems, like time-dependent differences, vertical differences. To serve more comfort and productivity of Room B, it is strongly recommended to do a T.A.B.(Testing, Adjusting and Balancing) for more air volume and/or to design new air flow path to make air stay longer.

It is common to design the duct branches where to supply the required air flow for individual room in residential apartment house. And TAB process is applied to control the designed air volume with adjusting volume dampers and/or supply diffusers after fully installing the ventilation system. This process has been resulted increasing the initial cost for the residential ventilation system because of man-hour and accessories such as volume control damper or diffuser. However it is difficult to adjust the air volume adequately in small air duct branches in residential ventilation system. The purpose of this study is to figure out the performance of Multidrop chamber coupling system for the residential ventilation system.

Reliable forest statistics provides important information to meet the UNFCCC. In this respect, the national forest inventory has played a crucial role to provide the reliable forest statistics for several decades. However, the previous forest statistics calculated by administrative district has not provided spatial information in a small scale. Thus, this study focused on developing models to estimate an explicit spatial distribution of forest growing stock. For this, first, stand volume model by stand types was developed using National Forest Inventory(NFI) data. Second, forest type map was integrated with this model. NFI data were used to calculate plot-level stand volume and basal area. The stand types of NFI plot including the species composition, age class, DBH class and crown density class are very crucial data to be connected with forest type map. Finally, polygonlevel stand volume map was developed with spatial uncertainty map. Average stand volume was estimated at 85.7 $m^3$/ha in the study area, and at 95% significance interval it was ranged from 79.7 $m^3$/ha to 91.8 $m^3$/ha.
watershed Model by mathematical formulation is one of the powerful tool to analyze the hydrologic process in a watershed. The seasonal watershed model is one of the mathematial model from which the monthly streamflow can be simulated and forcasted for given precipitaion data. This model also enables us to compute the monthly runoff at each subbgasin when the basin is subdivided into several small subbasins. The computation of runoff volume makes a Prediction of the areal distirbution of runoff volume for a given precipitation data. Several basins in Han River basin were chosen to simulate the monthly runoff and compute the runoff at each subbasin. A simple logarithmic regression were conducted between runoff ratio and area ratio. The correlation was very high and the equation can be used for prediciting flood volume when flood at downstream gaging station is know.

Physically-based rendering is an image synthesis technique based on simulation of physical interactions between light and surface materials. Since generated images are highly photorealistic, physically-based rendering has become an indispensable tool in advanced design visualization for manufacturing and architecture as well as in film VFX and animations. Especially, BRDF (bidirectional reflectance distribution function) is critical in realistic visualization of materials since it models how an incoming light is reflected on the surface in terms of intensity and outgoing angles. In this paper, we introduce techniques to represent BRDF as B-spline volumes and to utilize them in physically-based rendering. We show that B-spline volume BRDF (BVB) representation is suitable for measured BRDFs due to its compact size without quality loss in rendering. Moreover, various CAGD techniques can be applied to B-spline volume BRDFs for further controls such as refinement and blending.
EK pumps packed with particles inside capillaries are involved in the mixed electroosmotic flow and pressure driven flow. For analysis in the porous EK pumps, the volume-averaging technique is applied to derive the volume-averaged equations for momentum and electrical potential. By using the volume-averaged equations, analytical solutions for electric potential and velocity distribution due to the mixed electroosmotic and pressure driven flows are obtained. The present analysis is validated by comparison with numerical and experimental results for the case of microchannel EK pumps.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to identify volume changes and dose variations of rectum and bladder during radiation therapy in prostate cancer (PC) patients. Materials and Methods: We analyzed 20 patients with PC treated with helical tomotherapy. Daily image guidance was performed. We re-contoured the entire bladder and rectum including its contents as well as the organ walls on megavoltage computed tomography once a week. Dose variations were analyzed by means of Dmedian, Dmean, Dmax, V10 to V75, as well as the organs at risk (OAR) volume. Further, we investigated the correlation between volume changes and changes in Dmean of OAR. Results: During treatment, the rectal volume ranged from 62% to 223% of its initial volume, the bladder volume from 22% to 375%. The average Dmean ranged from 87% to 118% for the rectum and 58% to 160% for the bladder. The Pearson correlation coefficients between volume changes and corresponding changes in Dmean were -0.82 for the bladder and 0.52 for the rectum. The comparison of the dose wall histogram (DWH) and the dose volume histogram (DVH) showed that the DVH underestimates the percentage of the rectal and bladder volume exposed to the high dose region. Conclusion: Relevant variations in the volume of OAR and corresponding dose variations can be observed. For the bladder, an increase in the volume generally leads to lower doses; for the rectum, the correlation is weaker. Having demonstrated remarkable differences in the dose distribution of the DWH and the DVH, the use of DWHs should be considered.
Changes in gastrointestinal tissue blood volume induced by variations of venous pressure between 6 and 40 mmHg were studied in 32 rabbits. Venous pressure lowering was produced by withdrawal of appropriate volume of blood and venous pressure elevation was obtained by partial occlusion of intra-thoracic vena cava inferior. Estimation of regional tissue blood volume was performed by means of regional distribution of injected $Cr^{51}-labeled$ red blood cells. The following results were obtained. 1. At the normal control venous pressure value of 18 mmHg, spleen showed the highest value of tissue blood volume expressed on weight basis, namely, $111{\mu}l/gm$, Liver tissue blood volume was $95\;{\mu}l/gm$, small intestine 24 and stomach $21\;{\mu}l/gm$, respectively. 2. Linear relationships were observed between venous pressure change and gastrointestinal tissue blood volume. The coefficients of correlation were: in spleen r=0.723; in liver r=0.791; in stomach r=0.704, respectively. In small intestine the relationship was less clear and r=0.358. Tissue blood volume of extrabdominal tissue, such as M. gastrocnemius was not influenced by venous pressure change. 3. The highest change in tissue blood volume expressed on weight basis was observed in spleen. The liver tissue showed the next highest change. Change in total tissue blood volume, however, was greatest in liver and next greatest in small intestine. This was interpreted by the fact that total weight of these two organs was much greater than that of spleen. 4. The mechanism that the change in tissue blood volume lies in the venous system which has a great compliance was discussed.
This paper presents a thermoelastic analysis of variable thickness plates made of functionally graded materials (FGM) subjected to mechanical and thermal loads. The thermal load is applied to the plate as a temperature difference between the top and bottom surfaces. Temperature distribution in the plate is obtained using the steady-state heat equation. Except for Poisson's ratio, all mechanical properties of the plate are assumed to vary linearly along the thickness direction based on the volume fractions of ceramic and metal. The plate is resting on an elastic foundation modeled based on the Winkler foundation model. The governing equations are derived based on the third-order shear deformation theory (TSDT) and are solved numerically for various boundary conditions using the differential quadrature method (DQM). The effects of various parameters on the stress distribution and deflection of the plate are investigated such as the value of thermal and mechanical loads, volume fractions of ceramic and metal, and the stiffness coefficients of the foundation.
