A SIP INVITE Flooding Detection algorithm Considering Upperbound of Possible Number of SIP Messages (발생 메시지의 상한값을 고려한 SIP INVITE 플러딩 공격 탐지 기법연구)

  • Recently, SIP(Session Initiation Protocol) is used to set up and manage sessions for multimedia applications such as VoIP(Voice over IP) and IMS(IP Multimedia Subsystem). However, because SIP operates over the Internet, it is exposed to pre-existed internet security threats such as service degradation or service disruptions. Multimedia applications which are delay sensitive even suffers more from the threats mentioned above. The proposed methods so far to detect SIP INVITE flooding are CUSUM(Cumulative Sum), Hellinger distance and adaptive threshold, but among methods only take normal state into consideration. So, it is not capable of adapting the condition of the network congestion which are dynamically changing. In this paper, SIP INVITE flooding detection algorithm considering network congestion which enables efficient detections of such attacks is proposed. The proposed algorithm is expected to detect other types of attacks such as BYE and CANCEL more precisely compared to other methods.

  • 인터넷 이용자 수의 급격한 증가와 인터넷 서비스 보급의 대중화에 따라 인터넷에서 최고의 미래가치를 갖는 기술로 VoIP(Voice over IP)기술이 부각되고 있다. 현재 가장 활발하게 연구되고 있는 VoIP 기술로는 H.323과 SIP(Session Initiation Protocol)가 있다. SIP는 사용자간에 멀티미디어 세션을 생성, 수정, 해제하는 응용 계층의 시그널링 프로토콜로서, H.323에 비해 단순한 구조를 가지고 있고 새로운 부가 서비스를 추가하기가 쉽다는 장점이 있어서 앞으로 많은 사용이 예상된다. 비록 SIP가 차세대 네트워크 및 서비스에 이용될 전망이지만, H.323 기반의 기존 서비스를 무시할 수 없으므로 H.323 기반의 서비스를 사용자에게 투명하게 제공하면서 SIP 기반 구조로의 변환 모색이 필요하다 따라서, 본 논문에서는 SIP와 H.323간의 연동 서비스를 제공하는 SIP-H.323 Translator의 설계에 대해 기술하고자 한다.

Detection And Countermeasure Scheme For Call-Disruption Attacks On SIP-Based Voip Services

  • Owing to its simplicity and flexibility, the session initiation protocol (SIP) has been widely adopted as a major session-management protocol for Internet telephony or Voice-over IP (VoIP) services. However, SIP has faced various types of security threats. Call-disruption attacks are some of the most severe threats they face, and can greatly inconvenience consumers. In this paper, we analyze such SIP call-disruption attacks, and propose a method for detecting and counteracting them by extending the SIP INFO method with authentication. Using the proposed method, both the target user and the SIP server can detect the existence of a call-disruption attack on a user and counteract the attack. We demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method from the viewpoint of computational complexity by configuring a test-bed with an Asterisk SIP proxy server and an SIP performance (SIPp) emulator.

  • A modified PCF(Point Coordination Function) protocol with the optimal polling sequence is defined in detail and shown to improve the efficiency of the conventional PCF protocol in IEEE 802.11 wireless LAN standard. The problem for the optimal polling sequence is formulated as TSP(Travelling Salesman Problem) with the distance values of 1's or 0's. Numerical examples show that the optimal polling sequence increases the capacity of the real-time service such as VoIP(Voice over Internet Protocol).

  • Ships and their cargos have been managed safely by positioning report system. However, little attention has been paid to safety of crew's works with danger. The attempt that used PHS inboard was before by the present authors. However, the functions were just voice call and mail exchange. The data acquisition from the terminal by proper control was not possible. Thus the position of the terminal was not available. As for the cell phone of next generation, GPS receiver and wireless LAN are installed by manufacturers. Therefore, we propose a system which uses a cell-phone with GPS receiver on a ship in order to promote the safety of ship's crew. We checked the availability of cell-phone GPS receiver at thirty different points inboard. The positioning was not possible in the areas further than 4m from the window. Then, we proposed the system which follows the positions of the crews and confirms their safety inboard by using the VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) function by wireless LAN.

  • VoIP(Voice over IP) 기술들 중에서 IETF(Internet Engineering Task Force)에서 제안한 텍스트 기반의 SIP(Session Initiation Protocol) 프로토콜은 다양한 애플리케이션을 개발할 수 있는 등의 장점을 가지고 있기 때문에 차세대 네트워크에서 호 설정을 위한 사실상의 표준으로 자리 잡아가고 있다. SIP는 계층적 구조를 갖는 프로토콜로서, SIP의 일부 계층은 대부분의 SIP 응용 애플리케이션에서 공통적으로 사용될 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 SIP 애플리케이션 개발에 효과적으로 사용될 수 있도록 설계 및 구현된 SIP 공통모듈에 대하여 설명한다.

  • In this raper we researched on the development methods and design of the B-ISDN protocol embedded IP-PBX System with the computers interconnected by the Internet for the previous telephone exchange and communication. We designed the structure of the user terminal and exchange sewer of the IP-PBX System, defined message and data structure for call control, and designed call control state transition and call control message flows for user's communication. And we researched on the message flows for supplementary services and the call control for multiple calls.

  • 본 논문에서는 스마트TV향 VoIP(Voice over Internet Protocol) 컨퍼런스 기능을 위한 잡음제거 알고리즘의 성능비교 하였다. 기존에 연구 되어져 있는 Improved Minima Controlled Recursive Averaging(IMCRA)방식과 Gaussian분포 기반의 잡음제거 알고리즘, IMCRA방식과 Gamma분포 기반의 잡음제거 알고리즘, IMCRA방식과 Mel-filter를 적용한 잡음제거 알고리즘, R&L 알고리즘들의 방식을 비교하였으며, 성능 비교를 위해 각 알고리즘을 통해 나온 다양한 잡음 환경에서의 잡음이 제거된 신호의 PESQ와 연산속도를 비교한다.
