This paper describes a DAVIC based VoD service system that allows access via the Web, taking advantage of the wide availability of Web browsers. A simple access mechanism of a DAVIC based VoD system, using a Web browser is adopted on the proposed system. The client and VoD server are compliant with DAVIC, a user can access the VoD server simply by selecting the Web server's address via a Web browser. A menu enables the user to select VCR-like buttons, to establish an S2 control flow and to send the commands contained in the buttons to the VoD server. A simple implementation shows the feasibility of the proposed approach.

본 논문은 PSTN과 인터넷전화기능을 모두 갖춘 단말(일명 듀얼폰)에서 데이터서비스를 제공하는 방안을 소개한다. 듀얼폰은 음성단말로써 PSTN 또는 VoIP 통화를 모두 수용하고, 발신시에는 발신모드를 선택하여 제공함으로써 사용자가 저렴한 통신요금을 활용할 수 있는 장점이 있다. 그런데 본 단말은 인터넷브라우저를 탑재하지 않으므로 인터넷이 연결되어 있음에도 데이터서비스를 위한 웹 서버와 다이렉트 메시지교환이 용이하지 않다. 본 논문은 웹이용이 용이하지 않은 단말에서 데이터 서비스를 제공하는 방안을 소개한다.

Vehicular Adhoc Networks (VANET), a Vehicle-to-Infrastucture or Vehicle-to-Vehicle communication technology, is an area that makes more specific use of Mobile Adhoc Networks(MANET). VANET's Quality of Service(QoS) focuses on preventing possible emergencies like car crash from happening by immediately transmitting information to the cars around, while MANET's QoS is being studied for the quality of multimedia data such as Video on Demand(VoD), Video streaming, Voice over IP(VoIP), etc. In this paper, I structure the actual network configuration using Link State Routing(LSR), implement QoS Provisioning Model using Common Open Policy Service(COPS), and suggest more effective k-hop Cluster and inter-domain policy negotiation which fit better to the characteristics of VANET.

In this paper, we present criteria of objective measurement of speech quality to provide the mobile-VoIP services efficiently over wireless mobile internet. The mobile-VoIP service, which is based on mobility and is error-prone compared to conventional VoIP over wired network, is about to be launched, but there have not been adequate quality indexes and the Quality of Service (QoS) standards for evaluating speech quality of Mobile-VoIP. In addition, there are many factors influencing on the speech quality in packet network of which packet loss contribute directly to the overall voice communication quality. For this reason, we adopt the Gilbert-Elliot Channel Model for modeling packet network based on IP and assess the voice quality through the objective speech method of ITU-T P. 862 PESQ and ITU-T P. 862.1 MOS-LQO under various packet loss rates in the transmission channel environments. Our simulation results address the specific criteria and QoS for the mobile-VoIP services in terms of the various packet loss environments.

Peer-to-Peer (P2P) networks are becoming more and more popular in video content delivery services, such as Video on Demand (VoD). Scalability feature of P2P allows a higher number of simultaneous users at a given server load and bandwidth to use stream service. However, the quality of service (QoS) in these networks is difficult to be guaranteed because of the free-riding problem that nodes download the recourses while never uploading recourses, which degrades the performance of P2P VoD networks. In this paper, a distributed trust model is designed to reduce node's free-riding phenomenon in P2P VoD networks. In this model, the P2P network is abstracted to be a super node hierarchical structure to monitor the reputation of nodes. In order to calculate the reputation of nodes, the Hidden Markov Model (HMM) is introduced in this paper. Besides, a distinction algorithm is proposed to distinguish the free-riders and malicious nodes. The free-riders are the nodes which have a low frequency to free-ride. And the malicious nodes have a high frequency to free-ride. The distinction algorithm takes different measures to response to the request of these two kinds of free-riders. The simulation results demonstrate that this proposed trust model can improve QoS effectively in P2P VoD networks.

주문형 비디오 서비스(VoD: Video on Demand)의 경우 네트워크의 자원 이용도와QoS (Quality of Service)가 보장되도록 구축되어야 한다. 대역폭 스무딩 알고리즘은 주문형 비디오 시스템에서 비디오 데이터를 보낼 경우 비디오의 데이터의 급격한 대역폭의 증가 또는 감소를 최소한 줄이는 기법이다. 본 논문에서는 기존의 대역폭 스무딩 기법과 비디오 압축 기법의 특성을 이용하여 새로운 모델과 스무딩 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안된 알고리즘의 성능평가를 위해 기존 스무딩 알고리즘의 결과와 비교 분석한다.

P2P Video-on-Demand (VoD) is becoming a popular service in the Internet. The first deployments are already in place, and millions of customers worldwide are already using this new medium. But its success is still quite limited and technically, these researches have been deployed in a rush, mostly based on practicality and instability. This paper studies the advantages and potential problems of VoD in peer-to-peer (P2P) network, we propose a system which uses a distributed VoD streaming scheme over P2P network to support media streaming.

The ubiquitous technology, leading the stream of change in telecommunication market, makes VoIP a foundation technology to enter NGN era. With this trend in mind, VoIP providers try to satisfy customer needs and invest on R&D in order to survive in this emerging market. The critical issues to VoIP providers are two fold the first one is to find out the quality attributes of Internet telephony service; and the second one is to assess the impact they have on customer satisfaction, customer loyalty and customer performance. In this study, we attempt to empirically answer the above two issues employing SEM (structural equation modeling) and AHP (analytic hierarchy process), and suggest strategic guidelines for successful deployment of Internet telephony service.

This paper presents the results of research on developing marine unified communications to provide VoIP service based on marine satellites. With the recent popularity of smart-phones and other mobile devices, the demand for Internet-based wired and wireless unified technology has been growing in marine environments, and increasing interest is being directed to VoIP products and service models with high price competitiveness and the ability to deliver a variety of services. In this regard, this research designed three instruments, developed their unit modules, and verified their performances. These three instruments included the following: (1) a marine VoIP module equipped with an analogue gateway that can be linked to the existing devices used in vessels, which is more than 80% smaller than that of a land system; (2) a text/voice/video engine for marine satellite communications that runs on technology that minimizes communication data usage, which is a core technology for a marine VoIP service; and (3) a unified communication service that can support multilateral cloud-based message conversations, telephone number-based call functions, and voice/video calling between a private space in a ship and shore.

인터넷 상에서 VoD 서비스를 제공하기 위해서는 시스템 자원과 네트워크 대역폭을 효율적으로 사용 해야 한다. 이러한 효율성을 높이기 위해서 오버레이 멀티캐스트를 생각 할 수 있지만 실제로 On-Demand 서비스에 적용하기 위해서는 많은 결점의 보완이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 결점을 보완하고 기존 시스템의 간단한 확장으로 VoD 서버의 자원과 대역폭을 효율적으로 사용할 수 있는 오버레이 멀티캐스트 모델을 제안 한다. 제안된 모델은 호스트의 공유 버퍼와 패칭 채널 그리고 트리구성 알고리즘을 이용하여 사용자 데이터의 요구시점은 물론 다양한 재생율 지원 등 제한이 없는 On-Demand 서비스 수행이 가능하다.
