Increasing energy costs have caused profitability problems for paper suppliers. Therefore unprofitable lines are being closed down. The actions aiming for improved profits are focused either on cost savings or on increasing the capacity of the remaining machines. The runnability of a paper machine and its total efficiency have a significant effect on energy consumption. Producing one ton of waste paper consumes at least as much energy as producing the same amount of sellable end product. New automation solutions enable significant cost-effective improvements to the total efficiency of a line without large investment projects. The measures focus on minimizing changes, interruptions, interruption recovery times and grade change times. Newest actuators, online quality measurements and wet end analysators create an improvement potential, which can be optimally implemented with the latest machine direction control solutions, based on model predictive control concepts. Equally, drying management is significant to the energy consumption. The newest control strategies optimize the use of various drying actuators for different situations; either by responding to changes as efficiently as possible or by using only the cheapest energy sources in stable situations. An even steam supply, which is vital for paper machines, is achieved with control for the power plant steam network. This makes possible to avoid the delays upon starting the paper machine and assure an even steam supply for the drying section and the actuators. This document describes means which have brought significant energy and raw material savings for paper machines. Metso Automation has provided efficiency improvement packages, which are usually based on optimized control of dry weight and drying in all running conditions. The solutions are based on performance analysis, on which the estimations for improvement potential and the necessary actions are based on. Typically benefits on an annual level have been from hundreds of thousands of euros to over one million euro. For example, variations in dry weight have been decreased more than 50%. The results are presented with a few examples. Additionally, the analysis models, adjustment solutions and the changes in running methods with which the results were achieved, are presented.
Fermentation plays a vital role in the nutritional enrichment of food. Korea has a long tradition of adding fermented food to the daily diet and jeotgal is one of the common fermented and salted foods in Korean cuisine. In our study, we added soymilk as an additive to squid jeotgal to improve its functionality. We mixed different concentrations of soymilk (2, 5, and 10 mg/g) with squid jeotgal samples, fermented them for one week, and then tested their antioxidant and anticancer activities to compare with those of squid jeotgal samples without soymilk additive. To investigate the anticancer characteristics, glutathione-S-transferase (GST)-pi enzyme assay was used. To test the antioxidant activities, various assays were performed, including 2,2-diphenyl-1-picryl hydrazyl free radical scavenging activity, 2,2-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) diammonium saltradical cation scavenging assay, and reducing power assay. Samples fermented with a small amount of soymilk showed excellent anticancer activity. The addition of only 2 mg/g of soymilk to squid jeotgal inhibited the activity of GST-pi by almost 50% when compared with the sample with no addition. Moreover, no undesirable bitterness or astringency was noticed. Our results could help to improve the current food status of squid jeotgal and it could be used to reduce the risk of chronic disease along with its basic nutritional function.
Globalisation has intensified the international movement of labour and South Korea is no exception. Korea, which in the past was itself a labour-exporting country, has seen a reversal in human mobility since the late 1990's with a rapid growth in immigration and a transformation of a previously almost ethnically homogenous society. In this context, the important questions about the cultural and political implications associated with the construction of minority representations in the media have remained highly unexplored. The starting point of this study is an examination of the vital role of public service broadcasting (PSB) in Korean society, where ethnic minorities have increasingly become visible. The study shows the significant role of PSB in representing cultural diversity in public debates and the ways in which such representations and their dissemination reflect media power.
In this study, the use of abstraction has been considered, focusing on the abstract metaphoric expressions presented in Animatrix and it has a purpose as the case study in the use of abstraction as a unique element of animation in which imaginative ideas and stimuli are significantly important and the pioneering works of abstract animations were produced in the early 20th century. The abstract metaphors expressed in The Second Renaissance Part1 & Part2 and Matriculated among the episodes of Animatrix, the animation produced in the omnibus form directed by Wachowski Brothers and great Master in the world, can be analyzed into Anima of Abstraction abstractively expressing organic vital power, Extensity of Abstraction which 4D space is realized possibly recognizing the human emotions as well as 3D space, and Conceptualization of Abstraction directly presenting the human mentality and imaginary world.
In hold that the pulmonary functions which is important situation that the national physical power, at firstly, from age 10 to age 29 young men and women 1,540 person for the progress of grew up, and them to by each aged viewing transition for pulmonary functions physical examination record is as following; and to measure normal Person with comparison by each others pulmonary functions was gained as the results of follows. 1) Frequency of Breathing: It was same the male and female age at 10 per minute over or less of 20 times, but, at age 16 to 17 was $15{\sim}16$ times, and had to precensed compare constant value. 2) Vital Capacity: At the grew up Pregress term as the body stature, age 10 to 17 or 18, had to showing rapidly increasing, but the after Probably constant. Since the bands 27.5 ∼ 28,350㎓ and 31.0 ~ 31.30Hz for existing fixed-satellite service were allocated to tile HAPS system in WRC-2000, the analysis on the interference effects between the existing FSS/GSO system and FS/HAPS system should be needed. To do study on the interference effects between above two systems, we can consider two frequency operational conditions, one is the Reverse mode, the other is Forward mode. In this paper, we analyzed the interference effects from airship of HAPS systems to satellite of the GSO system in the case of Reverse condition mode due to the C/I criterion, the latitude of HAPS and transmitting power of HAPS airship. In future, these results will be vital data to share between HAPS and GSO systems.
Vesely explains, the main source of our confusion and nihilism comes most probably from the ambiguous relationship between modem architecture, technology and aesthetics. Also, to overcome such crucial problems, many theorists recently emphasize to take part in cultural civilization and to preserve creative genes of great culture that is based on our interpretation of 'ethical and mythical nucleus of mankind,' rather than in technical modernization that constitutes a sort of subtle destruction of mytho-ethical nucleus of a society. They for architecture also strongly stress on a mythopoetic imagination and an ontological construction of building, which could make a form symbolic and mythical rather than mathematical and aesthetic representation. On this point, 'myth' becomes a vital idea for constructing and construing architectural form and space. And it is also one of the essential concepts to understand both the motive power of cultural continuation of place and the meaning of architecture. Nevertheless, its meaning and the citation of word in architectural essay are still obscure. It might be because the original concept of myth not only has been lain in the matter of philosophical contemplation. Thus, the intention of the research is focused on lightening the meaning of myth in architectural term. Especially, it is, first, concentrated on interpreting philosopher Ernst Cassirer's reflections which were written in order to emphasize the importance of 'mythical consciousness' for the world's cultural civilization. And, the second, it will continue to interpret the myth as a sign within the semiotic concept of Charles Sanders Peirce, and further to emphasis the significance of mythic signs for the continuance of artistic and cultural idea including architecture. The contents of the paper is not that of architectural planning and design methodology, rather architectural philosophy and epistemology. Nevertheless, in regard to architecture, the research will, against today's un-discriminated use of symbolic motifs and instrumental representation of form, suggest a concrete architectural and aesthetic theory of myth and sign, especially of the relationship between the idea of semiology and the function of cultural continuity.
Purpose: This study intended to improve quality of prehospital emergency care for trauma patients by figuring out its current situations and problems based on run-sheets and questionnaires of 119 emergency medical technicians (EMTs). Methods: This study conducted a research of 425 trauma patients transferred to the 3rd hospital in G-city by 119 ambulances from July 1, 2008 to June 30, 2009. We aslo utilized 114 copies with questionnaires of 119 EMTs working in J-province. The data were analyzed with SPSS 18.0. Results: There were 425 trauma patients including 272 men and 137 patients with traffic accident. When it comes to types of 119 EMTs who delivered cares to patients, there were 206 (48.5%) advanced EMTs, 101 (23.8%) basic EMTs, 50 (11.8%) nurses and 43 (10.2%) rescue education receivers. The most frequent measured vital sign was pulse rate (54.1%). Regarding assessment of systolic blood pressure, pulse rate and respiration rate, there were some significant differences in accordance with type of 119 EMTs. Among the 317 patients evaluated 'emergency' in field, 137 patients returned to their home. Prehospital emergency cares accounted for 861, around 2.0 treatments per a patient. In view of questionnaire, the 74.6% of 119 EMTs hoped supplement of man power for proper prehospital care to trauma patients. Conclusion: This study suggested that it is necessary to develop detailed guidelines for trauma patients so as to improve quality of trauma patient evaluation and prehospital care. Furthermore, improvement of emergency care systems will reduce mortality of trauma patients and lead to their good outcome.

This study was performed to examine in vitro biological activities such as antioxidative, nitrite scavenging effect, tyrosinase inhibitory effect and antithrombotic activity of a Korean traditional prescription, Nogyong-daebotang, composed of oriental medical herbs and antler, nourishing the blood, helthiness, strengthening of vital power and promotion of growth. The concentration of total phenolic compounds of the prescription sample was 151.3$\pm$2.6 mg%. The electron donating abilities (EDA) by reduction of 2.2'-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) was 80.9%, inhibition rate of lipid peroxidation in thiocyanate method used linoleic acid was 88.1%. Nitrite scavenging effects of the sample were more than 70% at acidic pH, but it was pH dependent, showing the highest at pH 1.2 and the lowest at pH 6.0. Inhibition rate against tyrosinase of the sample was above 80%. Platelet aggregation induced by ADP (adenosine-5'-diphosphate) was inhibited up to 30% and the inhibitory effect was dependent on concentration of the sample.
The purpose of this paper is to analyze the status of naval arms race in Northeast Asia. To this end, the scope of the research was limited to national security strategies, maritime strategies and naval strengthening of the United States, China, Russia and Japan. The major powers' active maritime strategies and naval arms race give some strategic implications to the Republic of Korea Navy as follows. First, China and Japan, unlike the past, are actively using submarines in offshore waters including the Korean Peninsula. Therefore, the ROK Navy must successfully promote the Jangbogo-III-class submarine, which is currently constructed, and get a nuclear-powered submarine and P-8 MPA capable of long-range and long-time operations to enhance ASW capability. Second, North Korea's current building submarines capable of loading SLBMs and SLBMs are a new threat to the ROK Navy. The current building KAMD, which focuses on terminal phase defense, cannot effectively respond to North Korea's SLBMs and should be converted to a multi-layered defense system including SM-3 at a mid-course phase. Third, as China militarizes the South China Sea, the instability of the South China Sea is growing. Therefore, the ROK Navy should strengthen its maritime cooperation with the regional countries such as Japan and ASEAN navies to protect SLOC. In conclusion, the ROK Navy needs to build a strong naval power to keep in mind that the 21st century naval rivalry in Northeast Asia is accelerating. The navy must do one's best to protect national strategic and vital interests by strengthening cooperation with regional countries. South Korea is also accelerating its defense reforms in accordance with the pattern of future warfare and the ROK Navy do one's best to have a balanced naval capability capable of actively operating in the offshore waters.
