The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of computer pointing game on the visual perception ability of children with severe intellectual disability. Based on a literature review, we developed a computer pointing game to improve visual perception ability, which consisted of three stages; catching a hamburger, catching a hamburger and a soda, and catching various foods. At each stage, different instructional models were applied by difficulty level of the contents. Experiments were performed among four children with severe intellectual disabilities for three weeks. They belonged to H public school in Kyeonggi, Korea. Their visual perceptions were quantitatively measured four times by utilizing the Korean Developmental Test of Visual Perception tool (K-DTVP-2). For qualitative evaluation, an observation assessment diary was written and analyzed. All four children at the fourth test showed better visual perception ability, compared with the ability at the first test. As a result of the analysis of the observation assessment, they were considered successful in their learning and ordinary life related to visual perception. It can be concluded that the computer pointing game may play a role in helping children with severe intellectual disabilities improve their visual perception ability.

Method : Using annual statistics of major surgeries provided by the National Health Insurance Corporation, it figured out what changes come in visual acuity by the number of cataract surgeries nationwide plus age, gender, and geriatric disease every 3 years from 2013 to 2019 through joint point regression for statistics. Objective : This study is intended to identify the relationship between geriatric diseases (diabetes, hypertension, obesity) and visual acuity in geriatric cataract surgery patients. Result : First, geriatric diseases of cataract surgery patients were closely related to diabetes, hypertension, obesity, smoking, and drinking. In particular, diabetes, hypertension, and smoking had a high prevalence rate. There was no difference in gender and age. Second, 72% of all geriatric cataract surgeries were performed at the clinic level, and intraocular lens that was used after geriatric cataract surgery accounted for the majority of monofocal intraocular lens as 96.6%. Third, the visual acuity in geriatric cataract surgery patients improved from an average of 0.40 before surgery to 0.06 after surgery, and visual acuity improvement was found in 95% of them. These results suggest that geriatric cataract patients can expect visual acuity stabilization and positive visual acuity improvement through early surgery.
In this research, we propose an unsupervised debate indexing method using audio and visual information. The proposed method combines clustering results of speech by BIC and visual by distance function. The combination of audio-visual information reduces the problem of individual use of speech and visual information. Also, an effective content based analysis is possible. We have performed various experiments to evaluate the proposed method according to use of audio-visual information for five types of debate data. From experimental results, we found that the effect of audio-visual integration outperforms individual use of speech and visual information for debate indexing.
Lymphocytic hypophysitis is a clinically rare disease, and it has been known to be an autoimmune disease which mainly affects pregnant women at the end of gestation or right after delivery. The authors experienced a case of lymphocytic hypophysitis in a 29-year-old pregnant woman with rapid progressing visual disturbance. Sella MRI showed a mass-like lesion of hypophysis and hypertrophy of pituitary stalk with evidences of hypopituitarism. Cesarean section was done and then TSA was performed. The pathologic diagnosis was lymphocytic hypophysitis. After TSA, visual acuity was improved and visual field defect was recovered. She was given thyroid hormone replacement therapy because of transient partial hypopituitarism for 6 months after surgery. One must consider the probability of lymphocytic hypophysitis, if there are alteration of visual acuity and visual field defect which aggravate rapidly during pregnancy due to mass effect, decreased serum hormonal levels shown in hypopituitarism and sella MRI findings of hypertrophy of pituitary stalk and enlargement of pituitary gland.
It is well known that visual cues can improve the motor performance of Parkinsonian patients. Previous laboratory studies have examined the effects of visual cueing to the floor. This case study examined the effects of using a visual cue above eye level on the gait of a Parkinsonian man. It was found that cueing the patient to a target above eye level while waking not only improved the kinematic parameters of the gait cycle but also facilitated a more functional gait pattern with re-intergration of arm swing, rhythm, heel strike and a more erect posture. Visual targeting above eye level may serve as an important clinical tool for physiotherapists treating Parkinsonian patients.

Opera house acoustics were subjectively evaluated in order to investigate the effect of performance stage views on the audience's perception of the seat acoustics in an opera house. Nine seats from an existing opera house were selected for the auditory and/or visual experiments according to seating area distribution and acoustical parameters such as RT and $1-IACC_{E3}$. The recorded music, convolved from the impulse response, was presented with and without visual images of the stage. Subjects were asked to assess the auditory/visual descriptors and overall impression of the music at each seat. The results showed that good visual input helps produce a favorable impression of the acoustics, but a limited view degrades acoustical impression. The acoustical parameters in the tested seats were also investigated to find the relationship between the acoustical parameters and the visual/sound impression.
Most studies on how people perceive a given quantity of items were conducted with visual cues exclusively and only offered spatial area based explanations, such as spatial estimation and perceptual grouping theories. This article establishes how people perceive a given quantity when only a written description is provided without any visual cues. Across two studies we show that variety decreases perceived quantity when a variety cue is given, while variety increases perceived quantity when a visual cue is not given. This is because people tend to rely heavily on spatial areas when a visual cue is present and because people are prone to confirmation bias when they are provided with no visual cues but only written descriptions. Furthermore, we highlight that quantity perception has a mediation effect on consumers' attitude-the intention to participate in sales promotional events. Lastly, we summarize the article and discuss its contributions, implications, limitations, and suggestions for future research.
Companies display the product information to the consumers in their online presences. As importance of online marketing activities are growing, most of the franchisers also uses the product images on their online sites to provide the vivid visual information of their merchandises. But the previous researches do not provide the rigorous understanding on the nature of how the consumers process the visual information. In this study, we explore the theoretical backgrounds of the visual information processing and set up the research proposition on the orders and directions of the online visitors' attentions. The visit data from experimental online shop for 81 days was analysed with repeated measure ANOVA. We found that the nature of visual information processing in the online environment is different from that of the ordinary text process. At the end of this study, implication and the limitations of the research were discussed.
This study was conducted to examine what effect was produced on brand attitude and purchase intention by consumer attitude towards the visual merchandising of premium supermarket made using self-reported survey method during 1 Jun 2016 to 14 Jun 2016 as perceived by consumers who have experience in purchasing a product in premium supermarket located in Seoul. Result findings are follow. First there was significant influence between consumer perception and brand attitude (${\beta}=0.157$, p<.001) for harmony, ${\beta}=0.111$ (p<.01) for attractiveness, ${\beta}=0.639$ (p<.001) for suitability, and ${\beta}=0.146$ (p<.001) for trend), but credibility didn't have any effect on brand attitude. Second, according to the results of making a regression analysis in order to analyze an effect that brand attitude had on purchase intention, the brand attitude had a significantly positive (+) effect on purchase intention (${\beta}=0.818$, p<.001). Third, the influence on purchase intention by consumer attitude towards the visual merchandising of premium supermarket was verified (${\beta}=0.181$, p<.001) for attractiveness, ${\beta}=0.520$ (p<.001) for suitability, ${\beta}=0.325$ (p<.001) for trend), and the harmony and credibility didn't have any effect on purchase intention in current study.

The purposes of this study were to examine the normal lumbar proprioception and identify the effect of vision and proprioception on lumbar movement accuracy through measuring a reposition error in visual and non-visual conditions and to provide the basic data for use of vision when rehabilitation program is applied. The subjects of this study were 39 healthy university students who have average physical activity level. They were measured the ability to reproduce the target position(50% of maximal range of motion) of flexion, extension, dominant and non-dominant side flexion in visual and non-visual conditions. Movement accuracy was assessed by reposition error(differences between intended and actual positions) that is calculated by the average of absolute value of 3 repeated measures at each directions. The data were analysed by paired samples t-test, independent samples t-test, and repeated measures ANOVA. The results were as follows : 1. Movement accuracy of flexion, extension, dominant side flexion, and non-dominant side flexion was increased in visual condition. 2. There were no differences in the lumbar movement accuracy between sexes in visual and non-visual conditions. 3. In non-visual condition, the movement in coronal plane(dominant and non dominant side flexion) is more accurate than that in sagittal plane(flexion and extension). 4. In non-visual condition, there were no differences in the lumbar movement accuracy between dominant and non-dominant side flexion. In conclusion, this study demonstrates that the movement is more accurate when the visual information input is available than proprioception is only available. When proprioception is decreased by injury or disease, it disturbs the control of posture and movement. In this case, human controls the posture and movement by using visual compensation. However it is impossible to prevent an injury or trauma because most of injuries occur in an unexpected situation. For this reason, it is important to improve the proprioception. Therefore, proprioceptive training or exercise which improve the ability to control of posture and movement is performed an appropriate control of permission or interception of the visual information input to prevent an excessive visual compensation.
