본 연구의 목적은 초등학교 "사회" 교과서에 포함된 탐구 과제를 탐구 절차에 해당하는 정보활용과정을 기준으로 분석하고, 사서교사가 제공할 수 있는 교육정보서비스 내용을 알아보는 것이다. 분석 결과 4 5 6학년 1학기 "사회" 교과서는 총 69개의 탐구 과제를 포함하고 있으며, 이 중 60개가 개별 과제이다. 정보활용과정 측면에서 4학년은 개별적으로 관련 자료를 찾거나 조사한 후에 정리하여 발표하는 형태로 탐구 과제를 수행하는 것으로 보인다. 5 6학년은 개별적으로 주로 교과서에 실린 시각 자료와 텍스트를 읽고 그 결과를 구술 형식으로 표현하는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 사서교사는 정보활용과정 2단계의 적절한 정보원 판단하기, 3단계의 찾아낸 정보 정리하기 그리고 4단계의 과제 해결 결과와 과정 평가하기에 대한 정보서비스가 가능할 것으로 보인다.

아이즈너는 교육과정 개발에 있어서 행동목표 외에 문제해결목표, 표현목표의 중요성과 언어적, 시각적, 청각 모드 등 멀티 모달에 의한 의사소통을 강조하였다. 본 연구는 정보활용교육을 위해서 개발된 교과서인 '도서관과 정보생활'을 교육목표 유형(행동목표, 문제해결목표, 표현목표)과 멀티 모달(언어적, 시각적, 청각적, 공간적, 행동적)을 기준으로 분석하여, 정보활용교육을 위한 교육목표 설정과 교과서 개발을 위한 시사점을 도출하고자 한다. '도서관과 정보생활' 교과서는 초등학교 저학년용, 초등학교 고학년용, 중학생용, 고등학생용의 4책으로 구성되어 있다. 교과서로부터 교육목표를 추출하여, 사서교사 3인에게 교육목표 분석을 의뢰하였다. 본 연구의 주요 결과와 시사점은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 교육목표 유형별로 볼 때, 행동목표의 비중이 지나치게 높게 나타났으며, 문제해결목표와 표현목표의 비중을 강화할 필요가 있다. 둘째, 문제해결목표는 행동목표와 중복되는 경향이 있으며, 조건과 해결책의 요건을 갖춘 진정한 의미의 문제해결목표를 개발할 필요가 있다. 셋째, 특정 대-단원에 집중되어 있는 표현목표는 다른 대-단원에서도 고르게 배치할 필요가 있다. 넷째, 멀티 모달의 경우 언어적 모드의 비중을 줄이고, 시각적, 청각적, 공간적, 행동적 모드의 비중을 높여야 하며, 각 모드의 특성이 명확한 교육목표를 설정할 필요가 있다.

다양한 미디어 환경으로 인한 이미지의 재매개화 과정은 디미털 미디어문화 세대에게 또 한번의 거울단계를 거치게 하고 있다고 보고, 라캉의 거울단계이론과의 연관성을 고찰하는데 연구의 목적이 있다. 전통적인 매체가 인터넷으로의 재매개, 컴퓨터그래픽으로 인한 초실재적 환상의 재현으로 조성되는 가상세계와 실재세계와의 혼돈, 가상적 이민지가 선망의 대상으로 부각되며 실제적 이미지를 변화시키는 동일시 현상 등은 다양해지는 영상미디어의 상호 연계로 인한 재매개 기능으로 유발되는 것이다. 주체와 이상화된 자아만의 관계인 2자적 관계에서 발생하는 타인이 배제된 '나르시스적' 동일성은 새로운 자기표현을 찾는데 능숙한 마니아 문화를 형성한다. 능동적인 마니아문화의 '자기반영 성'(Reflexivity)은 현대 미디어 문화의 특징이 될 수 있는 것이다. 그러나 디지털 미디어문화 세대가 자기 반영에 사로잡혀 타인이 배제된 나르시스즘에서 벗어나지 못한 채 이미지 은하계에서 소모적인 재미에 빠져 길을 잃는다면, 이러한 세대는 새로운 인간형으로 성장하지 못할 수도 있다. 이에 따라 거울단계와 연관된 '영상 리터러씨'(Visual Literacy)교육에 대한 체계적 연구를 필요케 한다.

This study has an aim to construct a reference frame to analyze the appropriateness of environmental education(EE) materials of elementary schools, and to search the basic direction of the scheme for analysis. In addition, this study has an aim to induce what the results of this analysis suggests for the development and reconstruction of EE materials. It was analyzed how truly EE materials reflected contents selected as an analysis scheme, after grasping practical use and features of textbooks, audio-visual materials, and a web-site that are typical materials in EE of elementary schools. The results in textbook analysis were that there were a human-centered environmentalism in the EE unit ("Environmentally Sound National Development", 5th Grade) of Social Studies. The result in analysis of audio-visual materials "Environmental Warrior, Zentaforce" of EBS, were that there are unhealthy environmentalism in that material. In other words, technology itself is considered as a almighty means to solve environmental problems. Finally, the result in web-site analysis were that the "Environmental Class" of Ministry of Environment did not have sound environmentalism. The above result of study shows us that the most important thing in developing and using the environmental education materials is to have sound environmental values and EE perspective, to evaluate EE material with various point of view, to judge its result, and to use it.

Background: A population-based cervical cancer screening program using visual inspection with acetic acid was launched in Maldives in 2014. Our study aimed to assess the knowledge, attitude and practices of women in relation to risk factors of cervical cancer, early detection of the disease and its prevention. Materials and Methods: The questionnaire based survey was conducted among 20 to 50 year old women, systematically sampled to represent three regions of Maldives. Trained investigators interviewed a total of 2,845 women at home. Results: The prevalence of the risk factors of cervical cancer like early age at marriage and childbirth, multiple marriages, multiple marriages of the husbands, and multiple pregnancies was high. More women knew about breast cancer than cervical cancer. Even among the small number of women who knew of cervical cancer, only 34.6% had the knowledge of at least one early symptom. Very few women knew that the cancer could be prevented by any test. Only 6.2% of the women reported having ever undergone a Pap smear. Many women had the misconception that cervical cancer was infectious. In Maldives the younger women have high literacy rate due to the policy of universal free education and those with higher levels of education had improved knowledge of cervical cancer and its risk factors. The prevalence of risk factors also reduced with improved literacy. Conclusions: Awareness about risk factors and prevention of cervical cancer is limited among Maldivian women in spite of having high exposure to some of the risk factors. A universal literacy program in the country has helped to improve the knowledge of cervical cancer prevention and to reduce the exposure to various risk factors in the younger population.

대중문화 콘텐츠로서 소비되는 애니메이션은 당대의 사회문화적 변화와 가치관을 스토리와 캐릭터의 시각적 표현을 통해 나타나며, 관객들은 애니메이션 감상 및 캐릭터 수용 과정에서 작품에 나타난 성 역할 행동을 사회적으로 통용되는 여성 및 남성의 이미지로서 학습하게 된다. 본 연구는 디즈니 애니메이션 중 스토리와 여성 캐릭터 설정에 현대적 여성상의 변화가 반영된 것으로 평가받는 '뮬란', '라푼젤', '모아나', '겨울왕국2'를 선정하고, 중심 여성 캐릭터의 의복 및 몸짓 표현을 분석하여 애니메이션 캐릭터의 성 역할 행동 표현이 시대적/사회적 흐름에 따른 변화 양상을 보이는지 알아보았다. 이를 통해 정형성을 탈피한 스토리 구성 및 캐릭터 설정 변화와 대조적으로 주인공으로서 여성 캐릭터의 시각적 표현에는 정형적 이미지의 성 역할 행동 표현이 사용되고 있음을 확인하였다. 본 연구는 애니메이션의 시각적 표현과 내포 의미를 확인함으로써 주요 수용자인 어린이 및 청소년 대상의 애니메이션 리터러시 교육에 대한 연구의 중요성을 강조하고자 한다.

ChatGPT와 같은 생성형 AI는 21세기의 인간과 기계 간 상호작용에 새로운 패러다임을 제시했다. 이러한 기술의 발전이 다양한 분야에 빠르게 퍼져나가면서, AI와 꽤 멀리 떨어져 있다고 생각되었던 예술 분야에서도 AI가 어떤 역할을 할 수 있는지에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 제 4차 산업혁명의 시대에 시각예술 교육에서 생성형 AI의 활용 가능성을 탐구하고자 한다. 경북에 위치한 4년제 대학에서 진행된 실증연구는 창의적 융합모듈 수업에 참여한 70명의 학생들을 중심으로, AI와 시각예술 분야에서 협업의 영향, 그 중에서도 전공, 학년, 성별에 따른 차이점을 분석했다. 결과적으로, AI와 함께하는 시각예술 창작 활동이 학생들의 창의성과 디지털 미디어 리터러시에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것을 확인하며, 이를 기반으로 더욱 효과적인 교육 전략과 방향 모색에 관해 제언한다.

Visual literacy, a key element of a design portfolio, is achieved by communicating a consistent visual aesthetic with respect to design elements, design principles and individual style. Yet, students often feel challenged in articulating their personal aesthetic or design philosophy in order to create a unifying design identity within a body of artifacts. This paper shares some best practices on overcoming this challenge through students' engagement in self-reflection and identity formation processes. The implemented innovative strategy in a senior-level portfolio development course for apparel designers involved four different phases: 1) one-on-one meetings to self-reflect on previous design work, 2) selection and revision of artifacts, 3) peer-review and critiques of revised portfolio artifacts, and 4) development of a final ePortfolio to showcase a unified design identity. It was evident that recording students' initial self-reflection in the form of a metacognitive oral report encouraged and motivated identity development in their portfolio. Further, students expressed their satisfaction in the ability to participate in the selection process of artifacts by self-reflecting about what they wanted to highlight about themselves and why. Overall, student outcomes from this strategy exceeded expectations and the portfolios developed were successful in creating a cohesive design identity.

Presently, there has been growing interests in using mathematics' history in teaching mathematics [Katz, V. & Tzanakis, C. (Eds.) (2011). Recent Developments on Introducing a Historical Dimension in Mathematics Education. Washington, DC: Mathematical Association of America]. Thus, this article introduces some work of scholars from ancient East Indian culture like Bhaskara (AD 1114-1185) and Arabic culture such as Ibn Qurrah (AD 9th c) that are related to Pythagoras Theorem. In addition, some Babylonian creative works related to Pythagorean triples found in a tablet known as 'Plimpton 322', and an application of the Pythagorean Theorem found in another tablet named 'Yale Tablet' are presented. Applications of computer animation of dissection Motion Operations concept in 2D and 3D using dynamic software like Geometer's-Sketchpad and Cabri-II-and-3D. Nowadays, creative minds are attracted by the recent stampede in the advances of technological applications in visual literacy; consequently, innovative environments that would help young students, gifted or not, acquiring meaningful conceptual understanding would immerge.

This study examines the mechanism of how the dispositif, a dispositional concept of television, which is changing in form, Q-Sheet, is expressed as 'ideology' embedded in television. The dispositif implemented in television aims at the realization of mechanical desire through the internal disposition and makes the reality that it dazzles the public by adjusting the density of the gap and depreciates the existence of the aura itself. Instead of gaining new experience through the disposition, the public accepts the manipulated experience and falls into the illusion that it is true. In the television literacy program, the Q-sheet acts in the intervals and gaps that exist in the movement between the stacks, spreading the ideology, and the act of Channel Surfing by using the remote control is also a dispositf form of television viewing. In modern capitalist societies, television disposition are regenerating through proliferation and expansion, showing intent to dominate even art and culture through disposition, and autonomously injecting ideologies by television disposition.
