The purpose of this study is to analyze inquiry tasks of social studies textbooks of the first term focused on the information literacy process and find out teacher librarians' educational information services in elementary schools. Results of the analysis show that there are 69 inquiry tasks. Among them 60 tasks are individual tasks. Within the information literacy process, the 4th grade students seem to resolve their tasks by researching or investigating resources, arranging and presenting the results of inquiry individually. The 5th and 6th grade students could read visual materials written in the text books to perform the individual inquiry tasks and present their results orally. So teacher librarian can help students judge proper information resources of the second step, order the found information of the 3rd step and evaluate the results and process of 4th step under the information literacy process.

Eisner emphasized the importance of problem-solving objectives and expressive objectives in addition to behavioral objectives, and communication through multiple modalities including linguistic, visual, aural, spatial, gestural modes. This study analyzes 'Libraries and Information Life,' a textbook developed for information literacy instruction, by dividing it into educational objectives types(behavioral, problem-solving, expressive) and multimodal modes(linguistic, visual, auditory, spatial, and gestural), and seeks to derive implications for setting educational objectives for information literacy instruction and developing textbooks. The textbook has four volumes for elementary low-grade, elementary high-grade, middle school, and high school levels. Educational objectives were extracted from the textbooks, and 3 librarian-teachers were engaged in the analysis of these objectives. The main findings and implications of this study are as follows. First, when looking at the types of educational objectives, the proportion of behavioral objectives was found to be excessively high, and there is a need to strengthen the proportion of problem-solving objectives and expressive objectives. Second, problem-solving objectives tend to overlap with behavioral objectives, indicating a need to develop problem-solving objectives with defined conditions and solution requirements. Third, expressive objectives concentrated in specific units need to be placed evenly in other units. Fourth, in the case of multi-modality mode, the proportion of the linguistic mode must be reduced, the proportion of the visual, auditory, spatial, and gestural modes must be increased, and it is necessary to set educational objectives with clear characteristics of each mode.

In this paper, I am going to analyze a correlation of Jacques Lacan's Mirror Stage and the process of remediation on image media. It is because the remediation process of various digital media is letting people pass through one time of mirror stage again. Remediation for the Internet of traditional media, conflict with the virtual world and real world, identification that a virtual image changes a practical image is for it to be caused a remediation process by mutual link of various image media. The Narcissism which occurs in the relation a self with a idealized self searches a new own expression and forms a skillful mania culture. Reflexivity of active mania culture same as a Jacques Lacan's Mirror Stage is to be the possibility becoming the feature of media culture of today. However, if digital media culture generation spends extremely wasting time from the image media, these image media generations cannot grow into new future-type man. According to this, it is necessory to have a study on Visual Literacy that it is related to a Jacques Lacan's Mirror Stage.

This study has an aim to construct a reference frame to analyze the appropriateness of environmental education(EE) materials of elementary schools, and to search the basic direction of the scheme for analysis. In addition, this study has an aim to induce what the results of this analysis suggests for the development and reconstruction of EE materials. It was analyzed how truly EE materials reflected contents selected as an analysis scheme, after grasping practical use and features of textbooks, audio-visual materials, and a web-site that are typical materials in EE of elementary schools. The results in textbook analysis were that there were a human-centered environmentalism in the EE unit ("Environmentally Sound National Development", 5th Grade) of Social Studies. The result in analysis of audio-visual materials "Environmental Warrior, Zentaforce" of EBS, were that there are unhealthy environmentalism in that material. In other words, technology itself is considered as a almighty means to solve environmental problems. Finally, the result in web-site analysis were that the "Environmental Class" of Ministry of Environment did not have sound environmentalism. The above result of study shows us that the most important thing in developing and using the environmental education materials is to have sound environmental values and EE perspective, to evaluate EE material with various point of view, to judge its result, and to use it.

Background: A population-based cervical cancer screening program using visual inspection with acetic acid was launched in Maldives in 2014. Our study aimed to assess the knowledge, attitude and practices of women in relation to risk factors of cervical cancer, early detection of the disease and its prevention. Materials and Methods: The questionnaire based survey was conducted among 20 to 50 year old women, systematically sampled to represent three regions of Maldives. Trained investigators interviewed a total of 2,845 women at home. Results: The prevalence of the risk factors of cervical cancer like early age at marriage and childbirth, multiple marriages, multiple marriages of the husbands, and multiple pregnancies was high. More women knew about breast cancer than cervical cancer. Even among the small number of women who knew of cervical cancer, only 34.6% had the knowledge of at least one early symptom. Very few women knew that the cancer could be prevented by any test. Only 6.2% of the women reported having ever undergone a Pap smear. Many women had the misconception that cervical cancer was infectious. In Maldives the younger women have high literacy rate due to the policy of universal free education and those with higher levels of education had improved knowledge of cervical cancer and its risk factors. The prevalence of risk factors also reduced with improved literacy. Conclusions: Awareness about risk factors and prevention of cervical cancer is limited among Maldivian women in spite of having high exposure to some of the risk factors. A universal literacy program in the country has helped to improve the knowledge of cervical cancer prevention and to reduce the exposure to various risk factors in the younger population.

Animation films form a substantial part of pop culture and depict the sociocultural changes and values of the time in which they are made through visual expression of story and characters. In the process of appreciating animation films and accepting the characters, the audience learns the gender role behaviors that appear in the works as socially acceptable representations of men and women. This study illustrates whether the expression of gender role and behaviors of characters from animation films have changed over time or not by analyzing the costume and gestures of the female protagonists in 'Mulan', 'Tangled', 'Moana', and 'Frozen 2'. These films are considered to reflect the modern female identity on their story and characters. The study confirms that the stereotypical gestures and behaviors of women are still used today to portray the female protagonists in the animation films contrary to the story composition and various aspects of characters which escaped the formal stereotype. It is important for children and adolescents, the main consumers of animation, to learn and know how to consume media properly. Thus, this study seeks to illuminate the importance of research on animation literacy eduction for children and adolescents by examining the visual expressions and their implications in various animation films.

Generative AI, exemplified by models like ChatGPT, has revolutionized human-machine interactions in the 21st century. As these advancements permeate various sectors, their intersection with the arts is both promising and challenging. Despite the arts' historical resistance to AI replacement, recent developments have sparked active research in AI's role in artistry. This study delves into the potential of AI in visual arts education, highlighting the necessity of swift adaptation amidst the Fourth Industrial Revolution. This research, conducted at a 4-year global higher education institution located in Gyeongbuk, involved 70 participants who took part in a creative convergence module course project. The study aimed to examine the influence of AI collaboration in visual arts, analyzing distinctions across majors, grades, and genders. The results indicate that creative activities with AI positively influence students' creativity and digital media literacy. Based on these findings, there is a need to further develop effective educational strategies and directions that incorporate AI.

Visual literacy, a key element of a design portfolio, is achieved by communicating a consistent visual aesthetic with respect to design elements, design principles and individual style. Yet, students often feel challenged in articulating their personal aesthetic or design philosophy in order to create a unifying design identity within a body of artifacts. This paper shares some best practices on overcoming this challenge through students' engagement in self-reflection and identity formation processes. The implemented innovative strategy in a senior-level portfolio development course for apparel designers involved four different phases: 1) one-on-one meetings to self-reflect on previous design work, 2) selection and revision of artifacts, 3) peer-review and critiques of revised portfolio artifacts, and 4) development of a final ePortfolio to showcase a unified design identity. It was evident that recording students' initial self-reflection in the form of a metacognitive oral report encouraged and motivated identity development in their portfolio. Further, students expressed their satisfaction in the ability to participate in the selection process of artifacts by self-reflecting about what they wanted to highlight about themselves and why. Overall, student outcomes from this strategy exceeded expectations and the portfolios developed were successful in creating a cohesive design identity.

Presently, there has been growing interests in using mathematics' history in teaching mathematics [Katz, V. & Tzanakis, C. (Eds.) (2011). Recent Developments on Introducing a Historical Dimension in Mathematics Education. Washington, DC: Mathematical Association of America]. Thus, this article introduces some work of scholars from ancient East Indian culture like Bhaskara (AD 1114-1185) and Arabic culture such as Ibn Qurrah (AD 9th c) that are related to Pythagoras Theorem. In addition, some Babylonian creative works related to Pythagorean triples found in a tablet known as 'Plimpton 322', and an application of the Pythagorean Theorem found in another tablet named 'Yale Tablet' are presented. Applications of computer animation of dissection Motion Operations concept in 2D and 3D using dynamic software like Geometer's-Sketchpad and Cabri-II-and-3D. Nowadays, creative minds are attracted by the recent stampede in the advances of technological applications in visual literacy; consequently, innovative environments that would help young students, gifted or not, acquiring meaningful conceptual understanding would immerge.

This study examines the mechanism of how the dispositif, a dispositional concept of television, which is changing in form, Q-Sheet, is expressed as 'ideology' embedded in television. The dispositif implemented in television aims at the realization of mechanical desire through the internal disposition and makes the reality that it dazzles the public by adjusting the density of the gap and depreciates the existence of the aura itself. Instead of gaining new experience through the disposition, the public accepts the manipulated experience and falls into the illusion that it is true. In the television literacy program, the Q-sheet acts in the intervals and gaps that exist in the movement between the stacks, spreading the ideology, and the act of Channel Surfing by using the remote control is also a dispositf form of television viewing. In modern capitalist societies, television disposition are regenerating through proliferation and expansion, showing intent to dominate even art and culture through disposition, and autonomously injecting ideologies by television disposition.
