Contact Area-Dependent Electron Transport in Au/n-type Ge Schottky Junction

  • The electrical properties of Au/n-type Ge Schottky contacts with different contact areas were investigated using current-voltage (I-V) measurements. Analyses of the reverse bias current characteristics showed that the Poole-Frenkel effect became strong with decreasing contact area. The contribution of the perimeter current density to the total current density was found to increase with increasing reverse bias voltage. Fitting of the forward bias I-V characteristics by considering various transport models revealed that the tunneling current is dominant in the low forward bias region. The contributions of both the thermionic emission (TE) and the generation-recombination (GR) currents to the total current were similar regardless of the contact area, indicating that these currents mainly flow through the bulk region. In contrast, the contribution of the tunneling current to the total current increased with decreasing contact area. The largest $E_{00}$ value (related to tunneling probability) for the smallest contact area was associated with higher tunneling effect.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the proper species of turf and the ground structure for the turf sports grounds. Analysis items are particle distribution of sand and gravel, saturated hydraulic conductivity, soil hardness, and turf growth. Results of this study are as follows. 1)The particle distribution of sand used in the multi-layer rootzone is within the upper limit of the standard level. The diameter of mid-size grain({TEX}$D_{50}${/TEX})was 0.62mm and the value of uniformity ({TEX}$D_{90}${/TEX}/{TEX}$D_{10}${/TEX}) was 3.93. The particle size distribution of sand used in the single-layer rootzone was beyond the standard level as {TEX}$D_{50}${/TEX})=0.86 and {TEX}$D_{90}${/TEX}/{TEX}$D_{10}${/TEX}=8.86. 2) Saturated hydraulic conductivity of the sand was higher in the multi-layer rootzone than in the single-layer rootzone while bulk density was vice versa. 3) Surface hardness was high on Kentucky bluegrass+perennial ryegrass compared to zoysiagrass probably caused by root density. 4) Visual covering and visual rating were highly evaluated on zoysiagrass within summer while better evaluated on Kentucky bluegrass+perennial ryegrass throughout fall to spring. 5) Visual color was better evaluated on Kentucky bluegrass+perennial ryegrass than on zoysiagrass throughout the year. These studies are demanded urgently according to increase in interest in the ground and turf species of the turf sports ground because of World Cup 2002.

배경조건에 따른 Visual Field에서의 Stationary Field의 변화

  • Depending upon the eye and head movement, the visual field is often classified into three categories; stationary field, eye field and head field. To investigate the effect of background condition on the size of stationary field, an experiment was conducted, in which the subject was instructed to search a target with distinct orientations. In each trial, a single target was presented on the rear-view screen projected by the two-field tachistoscope, with the visual angle subtended 4.3.deg. vertically and horizontally. Density, meridian and subject showed a significant effect on stationary field at .alpha.=0.01, where density was inversely proportional to the size of stationary field. The size of the stationary field on horizontal axis was larger than that on vertical axis, and that on right and below meridian also larger than on left and lower meridian. The shape was found to be horizontally oriented oval and statistically asymmetric with respect to horizontal and vertical axes. The regression equation to predict stationary field on the given background condition was suggested. These results were expected to be used as a designing guideline when arranging displays and controls on panels such as automobile display panels, cockpits, etc. In addition, it can be inferred from the results that eye field and head field are also subjected to the influence of background condition.

공동주택 경관평가를 위한 시각밀도 지표에 관한 연구 입면차폐도와 규제지침을 중심으로 (An Visual Density Index for the Housing Landscape Evaluation Focused on the Elevation Coverage Index)

  • Recently the landscape of housing has been emphasized. This trend seems to reflect the negative aspects of housing landscape in urban area. Throughout the analysis on the various visual density index, the following findings were obtained; 1) Elevation blockage ratio(EBR) was permitted differently according to the types of housing blocks, and the preference of block layout was different to the location of site. 2) EBR regulation level was acceptable. But 40m level of general area should be stepped up to the 35m level. 3) The correlation between the floor area ratio(FAR) and the EBR was not high. Therefore it is reasonable to regulate the EBR to the location. 4) Elevation coverage ratio(ECR) was highly correlated with the FAR. It means that FAR can substitute for the ECR, and ECR should be regulated to the level of FAR.

다중 클래스 아다부스트를 이용한 엘리베이터 내 군집 밀도 추정 (Crowd Density Estimation with Multi-class Adaboost in elevator)

  • 본 논문에서는 다중 클래스 아다부스트 기반의 분류기를 이용하여 엘리베이터 내 군집 밀도를 추정하는 방법을 제안한다. SOM을 사용하는 기존의 방법은 재현성이 떨어지며 충분한 성능을 내지 못한다. 제안한 방법은 GLDM(Grey-Level Dependency Matrix)과 GGDM(Grey-Gradient Dependency Matrix)의 텍스처 특징과 다중 클래스 아다부스트 기반의 분류기를 통해 실내 군집 밀도를 추정한다. 다중 클래스를 분류하기 위해 기존의 아다부스트 알고리즘에서 웨이트 업데이트 식을 변형하여 더 높은 성능의 약한 분류기를 생성하도록 하였다. 군집 밀도는 인원수에 따라 0명, 1~2명, 3~4명, 5명 이상 등 네 가지 클래스로 구분하였다. 엘리베이터 내 영상을 이용한 모의 실험 결과 제안된 방법은 기존의 방법보다 약 20% 정도의 검출률 향상을 나타내었다.

  • The purpose of this study is to derive the environmental factors affecting child loss through correlation analysis between child loss and pedestrian density. The status of lost children was identified through the lost child records and interviews in large parks. In addition, the behavior survey was conducted by photographing the entire outdoor of each park, and visitors was marked on the behavioral maps. Also, the pedestrian density was analyzed by GIS as 100㎡ and 1㎡ grid. As a result, child loss was related to the pedestrian density rather than the number of visitors or the area. Especially, 'Dynamic pedestrian density' and 'Ratio of pedestrian in high density to area' was related to child loss. In other words, the more dynamic behaviors such as play and movement appear, and the more the local area of high density, the higher the probability of child loss. In addition, environmental factors that induce such high density include bottlenecks, overlap of circulation due to multi-functionality of space, concentration of rides, and concentration of guardians due to visual obstacles.

웹페이지 디자인의 이브랜드 개성 구축을 위한 시각조형특성 분석 (Analysis of the relationship between e-brand personalities and visual attributes)

  • 경쟁이 치열한 온라인 콘텐츠 시장에서 이브랜드 개성(eBrand Personality)은 효과적인 차별화 전략으로 평가된다. 하지만 이러한 이브랜드 개성의 중요성에도 불구하고, 시각 측면에서 이브랜드 개성의 구현 방법을 구체적인 디자인 언어로 제시하는 연구는 드물다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 이브랜드를 형성하는 가장 영향력 있는 매체인 웹페이지를 대상으로 사용자가 느끼는 이브랜드 개성 차원을 시각적 측면에서 효과적으로 구현하는 시각조형특성(visual attributes)을 과학적인 방법을 통해 제시하고자 한다. 사전 연구를 통해 도출된 이브랜드 개성 차원 모델을 바탕으로 본 연구에서는 우선 탐색적 연구 방법을 통해 각각의 이브랜드 개성 차원과 관련 있는 시각조형특성을 분석하였다. 두 번째로 앞서 도출된 탐색적 연구 결과의 신뢰성을 검증하기 위하여 자극을 제작하여 설문 조사를 실시하는 확증적 연구를 진행하였다. 사전 연구를 통해 도출된 네 가지 차원, 'Pl.선정적이다', 'P2.분석적이다', 'P3.호의적이다', 'P4.세련되다'을 바탕으로 탐색적 연구에서는 '단순성'과 '응집력'은 'P1.선정적이다' 개성 차원과 관련이 있으며, '대비', '규칙성,' '조밀성'은 'P2.분석적이다' 개성 차원과 관련이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 '대비', '규칙성', '응집력', '조밀성'은 'P3.호의적이다' 개성 차원과, '균형', '규칙성'은 'P4.세련되다' 차원과 관련이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 다음으로 확증적 연구를 통해 앞서 제시된 분석 결과를 검증한 결과, 'Pl.선정적이다', 'P2.분석적이다', 'P2.호의적이다' 차원에 대한 이브랜드 개성 차원과 시각조형특성 간의 인과관계가 검증되었다.

  • 항공라이다를 이용한 도시지역 3차원 모델링에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있으며, 이를 위한 최적 점밀도 결정은 도시지 역 3차원 모델링의 성과 및 효율적인 항공라이다 활용을 위해 매우 중요 하다. 본 연구는 도시지역 항공라이다의 최적 점 밀도 결정을 위해 표본 점 밀도를 선정 하였다. 각 표본 점 밀도별 DSM 및 건물 외곽선을 이용해 최적 점 밀도 결정을 위한 시각적 평가 및 정확도 검사를 실시하였으며, 도시지역 항공라이다를 위한 최적 점 밀도를 제시 하였다.

시각작업시 등반응시간영역의 생성 (Generation of lsoresponse Time Regions in Visual Tasks)

  • Successful completion of a visual task in a predetermined time is very crucial to many operations such as piloting an aircraft. Although existing ergonomic interface models often provide a function of vision tests, it determines only the visibility at any given location. To complement this problem in existing models, the isoresponse time region considering the factors related to visual tasks is presented. Using a multiple regression model, equal response time regions were obtained within which mean response time is expected to be the same and is asymmetrical in shape. Among the factors considered, expectancy significantly decreased response time, and when cued, the effects of field heterogeneity, target uncertainty, density, size contrast and peripheral position on search time were less significant than those in unexpected cases. Response time and error rate, gender and visual acuity were not significantly correlated, and response time and age was positively correlated. These results are expected to be directly applicable to designing various visual tasks in real-life situations.
