  • MMORPG enables thousands of players to play in an evolving virtual world at the same time over the internet. So, the load of this kind of games is heavier than that of any other precedents. One of load balancing methods is map-partition to divide the load of entire system which is vulnerable to delay message between clients and servers. In this paper, we propose a game architecture using MigAgent to help migration of player character between field servers and to reduce message traffic between clients and field servers.

  • Recently, the research for the mobile computing such as PDA, Palm PC and wearable computing related technologies is widely under development, specially for the input device. Among the mobile input methods are speech recognition, handwriting recognition and cording type. However these systems have the problems of the data input appraratus like input speed and recognition rate. This paper presents the Glove-based input device which could solve the system's data input problem. By the experimental results suggest the method of proposional input method that utilize the hand's movement is appropriate for the effective mobile input devices.

  • Various systems for simulating particulate matter are developed and used in concrete technology for producing virtual cementitious materials on the different levels of the microstructure. Basically, the systems can be classified as two distinct families, namely random sequential addition systems (RSAs) and discrete element methods (DEMs). The first type is hardly being used for this purpose outside concrete technology, but became popular among concrete technologists. Hence, it is of utmost relevance to compare the two families in their capabilities, so that the reliability of produced data can be estimated. This paper pursues to do this on the basis of earlier published material of work performed by a succession of PhD students in the group of the second author. Limited references will be given to external sources.

  • Purpose Interactive 3D visualization system through remote data transmission over heterogeneous network is growing due to the improvement of internet based real time streaming technology. Materials and Methods The current internet's IP layer has several weaknesses against IP spoofing or IP sniffing type of network attacks since it was developed for reliable packet exchange. In order to compensate the security issues with normal IP layer, we designed a remote medical visualization system, based on Virtual Private Network. Results Particularly in hospital, if there are many surgeons that need to receive the streaming information, too much load on the gateway can results in deficit of processing power and cause the delay. Conclusion End to end security through the network method would be required.

  • One of main concepts involved in regional small nuclear reactors is unmanned remote control. Internet-based virtual private networks provide environments for the remote monitoring and control of geographically-dispersed systems, and with the advances in communication technologies, the potential of networks for real time control and automation becomes enormous. However, networked control has some problems. The most critical is delay in signal transmission, which degrades system stability and performance. Therefore, a networked control system should be designed to account for delay. This paper proposes some design approaches for a delay-tolerant system that can guarantee predetermined stability margins and performance. To accomplish this, the reactor plant is modeled with consideration of uncertainties. With this model, three kinds of controllers are developed using different methods. The designed systems are compared with respect to stability and performance, and a second-order controller designed using the table lookup method was found to give the most satisfactory results.

  • In this paper, we propose methods for designing the Virtual Private Network (VPN) which guarantees a strict Quality of Service (QoS) over A TM networks. The required Quality of Service is a very strict Cell Loss Probability, and it is guaranteed by pro riding equivalent bandwidth which is computed so that the provided bandwidth is sufficient to guarantee that requirement. We consider two network architectures for constructing VPM, the customer pipe scheme and the Hose scheme, and we propose a method to compute the amount of the required bandwidth for the two schemes. Finally, we investigate the implication of the scheme via numerical experiments.

  • We present a real-time interactive particle-art with human motion based on computer vision techniques. We used computer vision techniques to reduce the number of equipments that required for media art appreciations. We analyze pros and cons of various computer vision methods that can adapted to interactive digital media art. In our system, background subtraction is applied to search an audience. The audience image is changed into particles with grid cells. Optical flow is used to detect the motion of the audience and create particle effects. Also we define a virtual button for interaction. This paper introduces a series of computer vision modules to build the interactive digital media art contents which can be easily configurated with a camera sensor.

  • This paper deals with a novel structure for single-cell characterization which makes use of bimorph micro thermal actuators combined with electrical sensor device and integrated microfluidic channel. The goal for this device is to capture and characterize individual biocell. Quantitative and qualitative characteristics of bimorph thermal actuator were analyzed with finite element analysis methods. Furthermore, optimization for the dimension of cantilevers and integrated parallel probe systems with microfluidic channels is able to be realized through the virtual simulation for actuation and the practical fabrication of prototype of probes. The experimental value of probe deflection was in accordance with the simulated one.
