A Study on the Development of Urbanized Fishing Villages by Framework - Focus on Fishing villages in Busan City - (프레임워크를 활용한 도시어촌 개발방향에 관한 연구 -부산시의 어촌마을을 중심으로-)

  • One of the important point in the development of urban fishing villages is to create various alternatives providing appropriate environment of fishing villages by keeping the characteristics of each fishing village. The purpose of this study is to suggest an urban-planning alternation to main fishing villages in Busan city by adaptation of the framework analysis, by adapting differentiated strategy considering the characteristics of each fishing village and by having similarities of development direction the whole city. At the same time this study is to propose against imprudent development of certain fishing villages or staying physical issues of existing plans about fishing villages. So this study is willing to visualize the frame of village and suggest the development direction after analyzing the 6 fishing villages(Songjeong village, Millak village, Daebyeon village, Gongsu village, Duho village, Dongam village) representing Busan city by using the five development types extracted from the type of cultural city. In addition, this study is used the framework analysis as the visual tool of potential elements and development direction in fishing villages by making frame of the most revealing cultural or environmental elements.

  • We intend to improve the sustainability of rural villages by investigating the element technologies and platforms necessary for building smart villages. There are so many investment smart city platforms and solutions in many cities. but there are relatively few investments in rural or small cities. This situation can not only increase the urban problem due to the increase of population to the city, but also deepen the digital gap of citizens. So far, studies on smart village have been investigated in fragments. We will examine the cases applied to smart village as a whole and study the open smart village platform that analyzes the overall data storage and management of the village after the smart village was finally established. First, we will look at the overseas trends of smart village and second, we will study the smart village platform that efficiently manages smart village through the technology necessary for smart village.

  • This study puroses to grasp the change of dwelling space by the change of family organization according to the change of population in the rural area of suburbs of city that suppose to receive the influence of the city. The method of this study is to collect data about form village houses in monographs and reference books and study change factor of houses. To the selected village we will interview local inhabitants and officials and observe and survey the farm village houses by visiting houses. Through the research results we will know the change of population organization that cause the change of room utilization. We know that village pepole have living articles in dwelling space. We expect that the farm village houses will become city houses only in the dwelling space. So the suburban farm houses must be planned as in relation with the city.

  • A nations' cultural heritage embodies its intellectual and spiritual contributions to its civilization of mankind. Cultural properties, whether tangible or intangible, represent both the essence and the basis of national cultures. Both the Philippines and South Korea's cultural heritages have survived various unfortunate chapters of their long histories. This study's purpose is to explore and evaluate the phenomenon of the architecture of Hahoe village in Andong city, Korea and Vigan city of Ilocos Sur, Philippines and to understand and cherish the cultural heritage of both countries. The historic city of Vigan has a unique architecture that blend Ilocano, Filipino, Chinese and Spanish styles in a tropical Asian setting, with a typical Spanish colonial urban layout as specified by the Ley Delas Indias. Hahoe village also represents a masterpiece of human creation and exhibit an important interchange of human values in architecture, monumental arts, town planning and landscape design. Though diverse in milieu, Hahoe village and Vigan city share a common phenomenon which is architecture that is called cultural heritage.

  • From the mid-nineteenth century, Korean have emigrated to Tumen riverside. Their communities have different characters in accordance with the time, intention, and birthplace of emigrants who inclined to keep their fradifin and culture. There are many causes about the formation of communities influenced by Dynasty's Policy in 1885, one of the reasons is to approve Han Min Zhuan Ken Di Qu(legal land development right for Korean immigrants), and provide land development district for Korean immigrants in the north region of Tumen river from 1885. In Tumen riverside, 69 Ferry and wade viuaces have existed for more than 90 years By and large, 21 communities and distributed in He-Long city, 28 communities in Long-Jing city, and 10 communities in tu-men city, and 10 communities in Hun-Chun city.

Dietary Intake of Calcium and It's Apparent Absorption Rate of School Children in Korea (학령기아동의 칼슘섭취 현황 및 그 흡수율에 관한 연구)

  • This study was designed to investigate calcium intake, the ratio of Ca intake versus R.D.A. (Recommended Dietary Allowance) for Ca, apparent Ca absorption rate, and Ca sources of food among school children in Korea. One hundred school children aged from 6 to 12 years were engaged in this study; 33 subjects were from farming village neal Seoul, and 67 children from big cities. Two days of food consumption records and feces collections of the subjects had been done from April 1978 to June 1978. The following observations were made in the present study; 1) Average Ca intake of total subjects was $457{\pm}214mg$ which is only 76% of R.D.A. for Ca. Calcium intakes for farming village children was higher than that of the subjects from big cities (p<0.05). 2) Survey on the food sources of Ca revealed that the amount of Ca taken from cereals averaged 120 mg (22.3% of total Ca intake), 111 mg (24.3%) from fruits and vegetables, 176 mg (38.5%) from meats, poultry, fishes and eggs, and only 68 mg (14.9%) was supplied by milk and milk products. From the data collected, following observations were made; a) No significant difference in Ca intake from cereals was found between village children and the ones from big cities. b) Average Ca intake from fruits and vegetables of city children was significantly higher than that of village children (p<0.005) with the values for 133 mg for the former and 64 mg for the latter. c) For the group of meats, poultry, fishes and eggs, significantly higher intake was found in village subjects than city children (p<0.0005) with the values of 340 mg and 95 mg, respectively. d) Contrarily, Ca intake from milk and milk products was significantly (p<0.0005) much higher in the city children (98 mg) than village ones (7 mg). 3) Apparent Ca absorption rate of total subjects was 51%; 44% for village children and 54% for city children. Ca absorption rate tends to be higher in the city subjects but no significant difference was noted.

  • This paper deals with the village names in Geoje City[Geoje Island], Hundreds of village names in the city are found to be based on some environmental features such as landforms, weather, and soil of the island. A considerable number of village names in the city are derived from the mountainous landforms with steep slopes or from the extremely indented coastlines with many small islands, and some village names are originated from the weather and soil. In this paper, it is realized that the village names often reflect the environments perception of the residents and that they can give some clues to the environment's changes of the places.

  • In this study, the effectiveness of the method for the promotion council to make rehabilitation community development plan with rural villages to continue community development is investigated in Ota-district, which is affected by chuetu earthquake. Initially, Ota-district made the acting contents of the plan based on the village's request, which is considered resident life and problems in village. Next, Ota-district made the vision of plan based on the acting contents. This plan procedure has been effective to compliment the village community facilities and running on village event, in addition to setting the village's community to continue to manage community facilities and event. As a result, this way has helped good management of village event using the facilities and interchanging among residents. Also, the use of acting contents by request of the promotion council and village's community, while respecting both, has been effective in that the promotion council assists the village event after the rehabilitation community development plan is finished.

  • Practically, it is very hard to investigate the rural villages in North Korea. The Korean rural village in Yanbian is proximate from North Korea and most of inhabitants of the village have been emigrated from Hamgyeong-Do and Pyeongan-Do. In this sense, it can be meaningful to study Korean villages in Yanbian is an alternative approach toward researches of North Korean rural villages. In this study, spatial characteristics of the Ryongsan village, Ryongjeong city was studied as a representative korean rural village in Yanbian. The Ryongsan village has been formed based on the traditional culture and custom of North Korea. The case of planning and design is provided through drawings of components for planning of rural villages based on the results of spatial characteristics analysis.

A Study on Community Landscape Design of Suburban City, Midlothian, in America (미국 도시근교 미들로시안 주거지경관계획에 관한 연구)

  • The goal of this study is to identify the new Architectural type of house and Landscape design pattern of the collective housing area in American garden city, Midlothian near Richmond of Virginia. I had been surveyed old houses of the Virginia and new single family houses and landscape design style of Mariners village to find a different style of houses and lots. The Richmond, capital city of Virginia, is surrounded by five suburban areas and counties. One of them is the Chesterfield where it has main street of Midlothian garden city. The city of Midlothian has a function of residence area both to stay in the forest garden and to go to downtown office of Richmond. There are a lot of collective housing area out of the capital city. I surveyed house form, lots, and site design pattern of the Mariners village in Midlothian. The community of Mariners shows a particular characteristics and harmonious pattern of suburban residence area in a view point of new project. There are three results of this study as follows: First, the types of house in suburban garden city, Midlothian, are focused on vernacular Colonial style with country house, traditional house, and front gable house form which are an unique new American single home. Second, the landscape design of this collective housing area, the Mariners village, has a unity view of residence community, harmony between house and lots, and a sensitive cul-de-sac pattern and loops type with rational land using based on the forest topology. Third, the Mariners village shows that the design concept of landscape architecture has to consider of traditionalism, naturalism, and living condition of residents.
