  • In this paper, we propose a method of obtaining high density geometric information using multi-view structured light. Reconstruction error due to the difference in resolution between the projector and the camera occurs when reconstruction a 3D shape from a structured light system to a single projector. This shows that the error in the point cloud in 3D is also the same when reconstruction the shape of the object. So we propose a high density method using multiple projectors to solve such a reconstruction error.

  • MPEG-I is actively working on standardization on the coding of immersive video which provides up to 6 degree of freedom (6DoF) in terms of viewpoint. 3DoF+ video, which provides motion parallax to omnidirectional view of 360 video, renders a view at any desired viewpoint using multiple view videos acquisitioned in a limited 3D space covered with upper body motion at a fixed position. The MPEG-I visual group is developing a test model called TMIV (Test Model for Immersive Video) in the process of development of the standard for 3DoF+ video coding. In the TMIV, the redundancy between a set of input view videos is removed, and several atlases are generated by packing patches including the remaining texture and depth regions into frames as compact as possible, and coded. This paper presents an atlas generation method that removes small-sized blocks in the atlas for more efficient 3DoF+ video coding. The proposed method shows a performance improvement of BD-rate bit savings of 0.7% and 1.4%, respectively, in natural and graphic sequences compared to TMIV.

  • Wrist PA-grip view is used to diagnose triangular fibrocartilage complex (TFCC) tear because it can easily diagnose damage to the surrounding wrist ligaments. However, despite advances in radiology equipment, distortion of images due to geometric elements still has many limitations. In this paper, we propose a method that can minimize the distortions of images by analyzing the distortions occurring in the wrist PA-grip view. A source of image distance (SID) were set at 130 cm and 150 cm for comparison with 110 cm. Depending on the SID, the phantom of wrist was moved at 0, 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 cm in the X-axis and Y-axis directions, respectively. For quantitative evaluation, the difference of distance between the radius and ulna was measured in picture archiving and communication system (PACS) system. As a qualitative evaluation, survey was conducted among 20 radiologic technologists who examined the Wrist PA-grip view. The Kruskal Wallis test was performed to compare the distortion according to the phantom movement in the X-axis and Y-axis directions based on the SID, and the Tukey test was performed as a post-test. In the quantitative evaluation results, the measured values obtained in the X-axis was not significantly different in all groups (p>0.05). The measured values obtained in the Y-axis was significantly different in the most groups (p<0.05). Therefore, to reduce distortion while maintaining image quality, we recommend what examine the SID at 150 cm than 110 cm.

  • There are a method to analyze reactions or psychological condition and a method to observe visitor's behavioral reaction as methods to measure and evaluate humans' recognition behavior reaction of humans. The measure of the eye movement as a method to living body's reaction and psychological condition has an advantage to measure the information acceptance reaction of view recognition of the stimulus of view composition factors which has been used since a long time ago in other research areas, but almost not studies have been made on the exhibition views in museums. Therefore, on the premise of such recognition, this study aimed at obtaining various types of information through vision angles of visitor in exhibition space of an museum and judging space information, at measuring the condition of information acceptance through attention experiments and observation investigation of and finding out the disposition and characteristics so as to verify the relationship between the exhibition space and exhibition Method.

  • The role of protective relay with correct setting value is very important for the reliable operation of power : system. The setting process of a protective relay is difficult and requires hard work of calculations. Therefore, KEPCO as been using PROSET2000, a computer program system, in order to automate the setting process of protective relays in power transmission network since 2000. This system has a database and relay setting modules for each type of realy with coresponding Human and Computer Interaction(HCI). For the setting of a new type of relay, it require a new module, a HCI and a database table corresponding to the new relay. But it's update is not easy in case of new type of relay. This paper discussed the update method introducing a concept of Open Interface. It addressd a method to make a new HCI for new relay in view of object-oriented method using UML(Unified Modeling Language). Using the UML, we updated the PROSET2000. HCI screens for a new relay is generated automatically using the information of the new relay stored in the database. And, the database management module is upgraded to solve problems in manage and maintain the database in view of Open Interface.

  • This study was aimed at rating the existing work environment noise components and alternatives in point of worker's view. To answer the purpose, AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) method is adopted in this research. Based on the AHP method, this research abstracts a mathematically rigorous noise components and alternative's weights and proven process for priority and decision-making. By reconstructing complex hearing conservation programs to a series of pair-wise comparisons, and then synthesizing the results, this study not only helps establishments of noise countermeasure, but also provides a clear rationale for noise alternatives. The result of this study is summarized as follows; 1) Job satisfaction index and noise identification index are 63, 56 respectively. 2) Noise level(15.7%), frequency(14.1%) and directivity(13.6%) are main reasons in worker's ground. 3) There are some difference between the estimation of worker's identification and that of work sites. 4) Low noise machine(14.7%), enclosure(13.2%) and shielding(9.6%) are chosen for noise protection method by workers. 5) Noise environment improvement should be focused on noise source rather than personal protection. 6) By the AHP method, noise source countermeasure have a key role at work environments.

  • This paper proposes an efficient depth-map coding method. The adaptive block-based depth-map coding method decides the number of bit planes to be encoded according to the quantization parameters to obtain the desired bit rates. So, the depth-map coding using the block-based decision of the bit-plane to be encoded proposes to free from the constraint of the quantization parameters. Simulation results show that the proposed method, in comparison with the adaptive block-based depth-map coding method, improves the average BD-rate savings by 3.5% and the average BD-PSNR gains by 0.25dB.

  • For the high quality 3-D broadcasting, depth maps are important data. Although commercially available depth cameras capture high-accuracy depth maps in real time, their resolutions are much smaller than those of the corresponding color images due to technical limitations. In this paper, we propose the depth map up-sampling method using a high-resolution color image and a low-resolution depth map. We define a random walk probability model in an operation unit which has nearest seed pixels. The proposed method is appropriate to match boundaries between the color image and the depth map. Experimental results show that our method enhances the depth map resolution successfully.

  • GPS(Global Positioning System) is widely used for the position estimation of an aerial vehicle. However, GPS may not be available due to hostile jamming or strategic reasons. A vision-based position estimation method can be effective if GPS does not work properly. In mountainous areas without any man-made landmark, a horizon is a good feature for estimating the position of an aerial vehicle. In this paper, we present a new method to estimate the position of the aerial vehicle equipped with a forward-looking infrared camera. It is assumed that INS(Inertial Navigation System) provides the attitudes of an aerial vehicle and a camera. The horizon extracted from an infrared image is compared with horizon models generated from DEM(Digital Elevation Map). Because of a narrow field of view of the camera, two images with a different camera view are utilized to estimate a position. The algorithm is tested using real infrared images acquired on the ground. The experimental results show that the method can be used for estimating the position of an aerial vehicle.
