Reproduction based Multi-Contents Distribution Platform

  • As the use of smart devices is being increased rapidly by the development of internet and IT technology, the contents production and utilization rate are showing higher increase, too. In addition, the type of contents also shows very diverse forms such as education, game, video, UCC, etc. In the meantime, the contents are reproduced in diverse forms by reprocessing the original contents, and they are being serviced through the contents service platform. Therefore, the platform to make the contents reprocessing easy and fast is needed. As the diverse contents distribution channels such as YouTube, SNS, App Service, etc, easier contents distribution platform is needed, and the development of the relevant area is expected. In addition, as the selective consumption of the contents having easy accessibility through diverse smart devices is distinguished, the demand for the platform and service that can identify the contents consumption propensity by individual is being increased. Therefore, in this study, to vitalize the online contents distribution, the contents reproduction and publishing platform, was designed and materialized, which can reproduce and distribute the contents based on the real-time contents editing technology in URL unit and the consumer propensity analysis technology using the data management-based broadcasting contents distribution metadata technology and the edited image contents streaming technology. In addition, in the results of comparing with other platforms through the experiment, the performance superiority of the suggested platform was verified. If the suggested platform is applied to the areas of education, broadcasting, press, etc, the multi-media contents can be reproduced and distributed easily, through which the vitalization of contents-related industry is expected.

A Study on Alignment Correction Algorithm for Detecting Specific Areas of Video Images (영상 이미지의 특정 영역 검출을 위한 정렬 보정 알고리즘 연구)

  • The vision system is a device for acquiring images and analyzing and discriminating inspection areas. Demand for use in the automation process has increased, and the introduction of a vision-based inspection system has emerged as a very important issue. These vision systems are used for everyday life and used as inspection equipment in production processes. Image processing technology is actively being studied. However, there is little research on the area definition for extracting objects such as character recognition or semiconductor packages. In this paper, define a region of interest and perform edge extraction to prevent the user from judging noise as an edge. We propose a noise-robust alignment correction model that can extract the edge of a region to be inspected using the distribution of edges in a specific region even if noise exists in the image. Through the proposed model, it is expected that the product production efficiency will be improved if it is applied to production field such as character recognition of tire or inspection of semiconductor packages.

  • With high speed communication network and supplement of high quality multimedia devices, large demand of multimedia service stimulates digital signing industry to step forward to new opportunities. But in order to provide competitive quality services, Integrated management system is required. Digital signs use technologies such as LCD, LED and Projection to display content such as digital images, video, streaming media, and information. Digital signs rely on a variety of hardware to deliver the contents. The components of a typical digital sign installation include one or more display screens, one or more media players, and a content management server for each player. To improve the existing high cost and less efficient management system, this paper suggest cost effective Integrated Digital Signage Management System with the results of analysis of existing system. Also this paper presents an actual implementation on entertainment company to evaluate the suitability, to prove the result of superior performance of proposed system.

  • The pandemic of COVID-19 is driving the demand for non-face-to-face diagnosis, observation, and treatment in the healthcare environment, which has led to increased interest in helathcare robots. The authors intend to predict the direction in which the quarantine healthcare robots should be utilized in the post-corona era through analysis of national agency reports, on-offline press reports, and domestic and foreign robot company press releases. The COVID-19 pandemic has raised interest in medical robots. And there is a need to apply healthcare robots that can perform tasks such as disinfection, logistics transfer, screening tests, monitoring of patients, remote medical treatment support for isolated patients, and video calls with family members. Therefore, it is considered that future correct development and application of healthcare robots and empirical research to verify them should be continued based on sufficient consideration for various problems associated with the practical application of robots.

Development of Demand Prediction Model for Video Contents Using Digital Big Data (디지털 빅데이터를 이용한 영상컨텐츠 수요예측모형 개발)

  • Research on what factors affect the success of the movie market is very important for reducing risks in related industries and developing the movie industry. In this study, in order to find out the degree of correlation of independent variables that affect movie performance, a survey was conducted on film experts using the AHP method and the importance of each measurement factor was evaluated. In addition, we hypothesized that factors derived from big data related to search portals and SNS will affect the success of movies due to the increase in the spread and use of smart phones. And a prediction model that reflects both the expert survey information and big data mentioned above was proposed. In order to check the accuracy of the prediction of the proposed model, it was confirmed that it was improved (10.5%) compared to the existing model as a result of verification with real data.Therefore, it is judged that the proposed model will be helpful in decision-making of film production companies and distributors.

  • In recent years, the demand for image-processing technology in digital marketing has increased due to the expansion and diversification of the digital market, such as video, security, and machine intelligence. Noise-processing is essential for image-correction and reconstruction, especially in the case of sensitive noises, such as in CT, MRI, X-ray, and scanners. The two main salt and pepper noises have been actively studied, but the details and edges are still unsatisfactory and tend to blur when there is a lot of noise. Therefore, this paper proposes an algorithm that applies a weight-based Euclidean distance equation to the partial mask and uses only the non-noisy pixels that are the most similar to the original as effective pixels. The proposed algorithm determines the type of filter based on the state of the internal pixels of the designed partial mask and the degree of mask deterioration, which results in superior noise cancellation even in highly damaged environments.

  • 최근 사용자의 멀티미디어에 대한 요구의 증가가 VOD (Video-on-Demand) 서비스를 발전시키게 되었다. VOD는 엔터테인먼트나 원격 교육, 광고 및 정보 등 많은 분야에서 사용되고 있다. 이러한 VOD 서비스는 많은 디스크 I/O와 네트워크 I/O를 요구하며 기존 웹 서버 시스템과 비교했을 때 오랜 시간동안 서비스를 해야 하는 특징을 가지고 있다. 또한 VOD 서비스는 많은 네트워크와 디스크의 대역폭을 요구하며, 서비스의 QoS에 민감해서 사용자 응답시간이 길어지면 사용자 요청의 취소율이 높아지게 된다. 따라서 불만족스러운 서비스의 증가로 네트워크 부하만 증가하게 된다. 이러한 기존 웹 서버 환경과는 다른 부하의 패턴이 있는 VOD 서비스 환경에서는 부하를 균형적으로 분배하여 서비스의 QoS를 높이는 것이 매우 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 분산 VOD 시스템 환경에서 부하를 효율적으로 분산하기 위해 계층형 분산 VOD 시스템 모델과 사용자 요청 패턴의 히스토리와 유전 알고리즘을 기반으로 한 스케줄러를 제안한다. 본 논문에서 제안한 계층형 분산 VOD 시스템 모델은 서버들을 지역적으로 분산하고 제어 서버를 지역마다 설치하여 지역에 있는 VOD 서버들을 관리하도록 구성한다. 사용자 요청을 지역 서버군 내에서 분산시키기 위해서 히스토리를 기반으로 한 유전 알고리즘을 사용한다. 이러한 히스토리 정보를 기반으로 유전 알고리즘의 적합도 함수에 적용하여 VOD 시스템을 위한 유전 알고리즘과 유전 연산을 구현한다. 본 논문에서 제안한 부하 분산 알고리즘은 VOD 서비스 환경에서 사용자 요구에 대한 부하를 보다 정확하게 예측하여 부하를 분산할 수 있다. 본 논문에서 제안한 계층형 분산 VOD 시스템의 부하 분산 알고리즘의 성능을 테스트하기 위해 OPNET 기반 시뮬레이터를 구현한다. 라운드로빈(round-robin) 방식과 랜덤(random) 방식과의 비교 실험을 통해 본 논문에서 제안한 부하 분산 알고리즘의 성능을 평가한다. 비교 실험을 통해 본 논문에서 제안한 알고리즘이 보다 안정적인 QoS를 제공하는 것을 보여준다.

An Study on FDI Determinants by Foreign-Invested Companies in the Manufacturing Sector Based on Their Sales Path (제조업 외국인투자기업의 매출 경로에 근거한 한국 투자 결정 요인 분석)

  • According to an analysis of 560 foreign-invested companies investing in South Korea's manufacturing industry, the following three facts were found. First, the proportion of sales by manufacturing foreign-invested companies is divided into 68.5 percent of domestic sales and 31.5 percent of exports. From 68.5 percent of domestic sales, sales to Korean companies are 60.5 percent, including 37.1 percent for large companies and 23.4 percent for small and medium-sized companies, while only 8.0 percent for domestic consumers. Second, the investment sectors of manufacturing foreign-invested enterprises are 'machine and equipment manufacturing', 'chemical and chemical-chemical material manufacturing-excluding pharmaceuticals', 'electronic components, computers, video, sound and communication equipment manufacturing' and 'vehicle and trailer manufacturing'. It overlaps with electric·electronics, petro-chemicals and automobiles, which are Korea's main industries and areas of Korean global companies. Third, 31.5 percent of the sales of foreign-invested companies in the manufacturing sector are exported. Foreign-invested companies export their products to use them for their parents or affiliates or to the third countries. The analysis shows that foreign-invested companies invested in Korea for B2B transactions with Korean companies. The implications are that Korea can attract foreign investments by utilizing Korean companies' demand for intermediate goods. Foreign-invested companies can invest in Korea in order to use Korea, which has signed free trade agreements with the US, the EU and ASEAN, as an export platform.

Analysis of IPTV VOD Usage Behavior of 2 to 7 Years Old Children and Mother's Perceptions about Their Child's Usage (2-7세 영유아 자녀의 IPTV 동영상 시청 행태와 이용에 대한 어머니의 인식)

  • This paper provides a database about the IPTV VOD usage behavior of children as well as mother's perception at home. We analyzed the correlation of mother's background with IPTV VOD using time of children through a survey. We analyzed how does the mother's background influences usage time of IPTV VOD for children through a survey. The survey was conducted by 500 mothers who have two to seven years old children with IPTV users in Korea. Compilation of the data reveals that 1) 36.6% of the children have watched IPTV VOD for the first time at two years old, 93.4% have encountered by family members among them. 40.8% of users have played IPTV VOD for children four days a week and the main genre was the animation. 2) The main reason for watching VOD was by the needs of their children, but the 66% of mothers concern for an excessive level of watching. 3) educational background of mother and monthly house income were significantly correlated with the usage time of IPTV VOD for children.

An Achievement of High-rate Digital Subscriber Lines(HDSL) Interface Function into the ATM Switching System and its Service Implementation (ATM에HDSL 정합 기능 및 서비스 구현)

  • We, in this paper, have implemented E1 HDSL(high-bit-rate digital subscriber line) function over an ATM switching system. The maximum loop lengths for subscriber service and cell loss rates to meet the bit error rate of $10^{-7}$ at transmission of 2B1Q HDSL data of E1 rate over existing telephone copper wires in the presense of the significant impairments such as crosstalk, impulse noise, power line noise and longitudinal over the CSAs environment consisting of 26 gauge and 24 gauge unloaded copper telephone lines has assessed. We have confirmed the typical media services function such as video on demand(VOD) service for MPEG-1, image conference service and high-speed Internet access service over ATM switching system.
