Enhancement Techniques of Color Segmentation for Detecting Missing Persons in Smart Lighting System using Radar and Camera Sensors (레이다 및 카메라 내장형 스마트 조명에서 실종자 탐지용 색상 검출 향상 기법)

  • This paper proposes color segmentation for detecting missing persons in a smart lighting system using radar and camera sensors. Recently, smart lighting systems built-in radar and cameras have been efficient in saving energy and searching for missing persons, simultaneously. In smart lighting systems, radar detects moving objects and then the lights turn on and camera records. The video recorded is useful to find out missing persons. The color of their clothes worn in missing persons is one of critical hints to look for missing persons. Therefore, color segmentation is an effective means for detecting the color of their clothes. In this paper, during the color segmentation step, the ROI(Region of interest) setting based on the size of an object is applied and the background is reduced. According to experimental results, the color segmentation has good accuracy of more than 97%.

A Data Mining Tool for Massive Trajectory Data (대규모 궤적 데이타를 위한 데이타 마이닝 툴)

  • Trajectory data are ubiquitous in the real world. Recent progress on satellite, sensor, RFID, video, and wireless technologies has made it possible to systematically track object movements and collect huge amounts of trajectory data. Accordingly, there is an ever-increasing interest in performing data analysis over trajectory data. In this paper, we develop a data mining tool for massive trajectory data. This mining tool supports three operations, clustering, classification, and outlier detection, which are the most widely used ones. Trajectory clustering discovers common movement patterns, trajectory classification predicts the class labels of moving objects based on their trajectories, and trajectory outlier detection finds trajectories that are grossly different from or inconsistent with the remaining set of trajectories. The primary advantage of the mining tool is to take advantage of the information of partial trajectories in the process of data mining. The effectiveness of the mining tool is shown using various real trajectory data sets. We believe that we have provided practical software for trajectory data mining which can be used in many real applications.

  • In the devices that leave video records, it is an important issue to distinguish whether the input image is a real object or a photo when securing an identifying image. Using a single image and sensor, which is a simple way to distinguish the target from distance measurement has many weaknesses. Thus, this paper proposes a way to distinguish a simple photo and a real object by using stereo images. It is not only measures the distance to the target, but also checks a three-dimensional effect by making the depth map of the face area. They take pictures of the photos and the real faces, and the measured value of the depth map is applied to the learning algorithm. Exactly through iterative learning to distinguish between the real faces and the photos looked for patterns. The usefulness of the proposed algorithm was verified experimentally.

  • PicoCast is a recently proposed short-range wireless communications technology that supports both low rate sensor/control data and high speed data such as voice and video traffic in the personal space, defined by the user-centric space of radius tens of meters, with one unified protocol. When the users are in the same area, personal spaces defined by each user may overlap. Since these PicoCast piconets may simultaneously operate, mutual interference is unavoidable. It is necessary to investigate the effect of mutual interference on data transmission and to conduct research on minimizing the interference among PicoCast devices. In this paper we analyze the effect of mutual interference between PicoCast piconets based on data throughput using OPNET network simulator. We have implemented the PicoCast protocol and measured the average throughput and packet loss rate.

  • The robot is the creation of new markets and various cooperation according to the manufacturing paradigm shift. Cooperative management easy for existing industrial robots, robots work on productivity, manpower to replace the robot in every industry cooperation for the purpose of and demand increases.to exist But the industrial robot at the scene of the cooperation working due to accidents are frequent, threatening the safety of the operator. Of industrial site is configured with a robot in an environment ensuring the safety of the operator to and confidence to communicate that can do the possibility of action.Robot guard system of the need for development cooperation. The robot's cooperation through the sensors and computer vision task within a radius of the double to prevent accidents and accidents should reduce the risk. International protocol for a variety of industrial production equipment and communications opc ua system based on ultrasonic sensors and cnn to (Convolution Neural Network) for video analytics. We suggest the cooperation with the robot guard system. Robots in a proposed system is unsafe situation of workers evaluating the possibility of control.

  • In this paper, we proposed on the azimuth correction method for a line-of-sight data-link tracking antenna system. Tracking antenna system is essential to maintain line-of-sight between moving object and data-link equipment. In order to calculate the azimuth and elevation between the moving object and antenna system, we used GPS data. also to match the each coordinate systems, we used geomagnetic sensor or beacon. However, the geomagnetic disturbance-prone terrain in places difficult to correct calibration. The first step, finds the location of the strongest RF signal, we should remember the difference between the reference point and the detected position of the antenna. The second step, we could communicate each other. And the azimuth angle is calculated by GPS values. Despite the geomagnetic interference, we can correct the azimuth angle quickly and easily.

Design of Near Real-Time land Monitoring System over the Korean Peninsula

  • To provide technological foundation for periodic and real-time land monitoring over the Korean peninsula where the land cover changes are prevailing, the Land Monitoring Research project was initiated as one of five core projects within the Intelligent National Land Information Technology Innovation Project operated by the Korean Land Spatialization Group (KLSG). This four year project can be categorized into two research themes with nine sub-projects. The first research theme is dealing with the real-time data acquisition from aerial platform and in-situ measurements by ubiquitous sensor network (USN), ground video camera, and automobile-based data collection systems. The second research theme is mainly focused on the development of application systems that can be directly utilized in several public organizations dealing with land monitoring over the nation. The Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS)-based land monitoring system that is currently under development is one of such application systems designed to provide necessary information regarding the status and condition of land cover in near real-time.

  • Service robots are equipped with various sensors such as vision camera, sonar sensor, laser scanner, and microphones. Although these sensors have their own functions, some of them can be made to work together and perform more complicated functions. AudioFvisual fusion is a typical and powerful combination of audio and video sensors, because audio information is complementary to visual information and vice versa. Human beings also mainly depend on visual and auditory information in their daily life. In this paper, we conduct two studies using audioFvision fusion: one is on enhancing the performance of sound localization, and the other is on improving robot attention through sound localization and face detection.

  • Recenty, there has been great interest in MANET from various areas. In this paper we focus on performance analysis of on demand routing protocols surf as DSR, AODV, and TORA in MANET. We have conducted several simulations concerned with application service data such as sensor, text. voice, and video data. And then, we have evaluated the performance of three protocols in a pre-designed ad hoc network, which is consisted of 20 nodes. As a result, we have obtained quantitative data for packet delivery fraction, average end to-end delay, routing load, channel utilization from upper layer and supportable routing protocol for application service data. The results can be used for designing specific-purposed ad-hoc networks.

  • According to an aging population has dramatically increased in over the world, silver care becomes more important than other field. In this paper, we design and implement an old age patient care system that allows a carer to instantly monitor the status of proteges and notifies emergency of a patient to a medical institute. The system uses RFIDs and infrared sensors implemented in embedded software to analyze the activity and movement detection of the elderly. And the home gateway allows easy integration with heterogeneous devices by employing OSGi that is a middleware standard for home gateways. We can verify the information on the activity per day and the activity per week by Web browsers and view realtime video on the elderly by Web Cam using the implemented system. The system also can send us cell phone messages and E-mail in case of emergency.
