The advanced traffic management system of intelligent transport systems automates the related traffic tasks such as vehicle speed, traffic volume and traffic incidents through the improved infrastructures like high definition cameras, high-performance radar sensors. For the safety of road users, especially, the automated incident detection and secondary accident prevention system is required. Normally, CCTV based image object detection and radar based object detection is used in this system. In this paper, we proposed the algorithm for real time highway incident detection system using multi surveillance cameras to mosaic video and track accurately the moving object that taken from different angles by background modeling. We confirmed through experiments that the video detection can supplement the short-range shaded area and the long-range detection limit of radar. In addition, the video detection has better classification features in daytime detection excluding the bad weather condition.

Recently, the smart video surveillance research, which has been receiving increasing attention, has mainly focused on the intruder detection and tracking, and abandoned object detection. On the other hand, research on real-time detection of stolen objects is relatively insufficient compared to its importance. Considering various smart surveillance video application environments, this paper presents two different types of stolen object detection algorithms. We first propose an algorithm that detects theft of statically and dynamically registered surveillance objects using a dual background subtraction model. In addition, we propose another algorithm that detects theft of general surveillance objects by applying the dual background subtraction model and Mask R-CNN-based object segmentation technology. The former algorithm can provide economical theft detection service for pre-registered surveillance objects in low computational power environments, and the latter algorithm can be applied to the theft detection of a wider range of general surveillance objects in environments capable of providing sufficient computational power.

This paper proposes an intelligent video surveillance system for human object tracking. The proposed system integrates the object extraction, human object recognition, face detection, and camera control. First, the object in the video signals is extracted using the background subtraction. Then, the object region is examined whether it is human or not. For this recognition, the region-based shape descriptor, angular radial transform (ART) in MPEG-7, is used to learn and train the shapes of human bodies. When it is decided that the object is human or something to be investigated, the face region is detected. Finally, the face or object region is tracked in the video, and the pan/tilt/zoom (PTZ) controllable camera tracks the moving object with the motion information of the object. This paper performs the simulation with the real CCTV cameras and their communication protocol. According to the experiments, the proposed system is able to track the moving object(human) automatically not only in the image domain but also in the real 3-D space. The proposed system reduces the human supervisors and improves the surveillance efficiency with the computer vision techniques.
In this paper we propose an algorithm that detects, tracks a moving object, and classify whether it is human from the video clip captured under the fixed video camera. It detects the outline of the moving object by finding out the local maximum points of the modulus image, which is the magnitude of the motion vectors. It also estimates the size and the center of the moving object. When the object is detected, the algorithm discriminates whether it is human by segmenting the face. It is segmented by searching the elliptic shape using Hough transform and grouping the skin color region within the elliptic shape.

Due to the recent proliferation of video contents, previous contents expressed as the character or the picture are being replaced to video and growth of video contents is being boosted because of emerging new platforms. As this accelerated growth has a great impact on the process of universalization of technology for ordinary people, video production and editing technologies that were classified as expert's areas can be easily accessed and used from ordinary people. Due to the development of these technologies, tasks like that recording and adjusting that depends on human's manual involvement could be automated through object tracking technology. Also, the process for situating the object in the center of the screen after finding the object to record could have been automated. Because the task of setting the object to be tracked is still remaining as human's responsibility, the delay or mistake can be made in the process of setting the object which has to be tracked through a human. Therefore, we propose a novel object tracking technique of CMT combining the face detection technique utilizing Haar cascade classifier. The proposed system can be applied to an effective and robust image tracking system for continuous object tracking on the smartphone in real time.

In this paper, we propose a moving object detection method in road video sequences acquired from a stationary camera. Our proposed method is based on the background subtraction method using Gaussian pyramids in both the background images and input video frames. It is more effective than pixel based subtraction approaches to reduce false detections which come from the mis-registration between current frames and the background image. And to determine a threshold value automatically in subtracted images, we calculate the threshold value using Otsu's method in each frame and then apply a scalar Kalman filtering to the threshold value. Experimental results show that the proposed method effectively detects moving objects in road video images.

A fast and accurate integrated traffic object detection framework was proposed and developed, harnessing a computer-vision based deep-learning approach performing automatic object detections, a multi object tracking technology, and video pre-processing tools. The proposed method is capable of detecting traffic object such as autos, buses, trucks and vans from video recordings taken under a various kinds of external conditions such as stability of video, weather conditions, video angles, and counting the objects by tracking them on a real-time basis. By creating plausible experimental scenarios dealing with various conditions that likely affect video quality, it is discovered that the proposed method achieves outstanding performances except for the cases of rain and snow, thereby resulting in 98% ~ 100% of accuracy.

Roundabouts have strengths in traffic flow and safety but can present difficulties for inexperienced drivers. Demand to acquire and analyze drone images has increased to enhance a traffic environment allowing drivers to deal with roundabouts easily. In this paper, we propose a roundabout traffic analysis system that detects, tracks, and analyzes vehicles using a deep learning-based object detection model (YOLOv7) in drone images. About 3600 images for object detection model learning and testing were extracted and labeled from 1 hour of drone video. Through training diverse conditions and evaluating the performance of object detection models, we achieved an average precision (AP) of up to 97.2%. In addition, we utilized SORT (Simple Online and Realtime Tracking) and OC-SORT (Observation-Centric SORT), a real-time object tracking algorithm, which resulted in an average MOTA (Multiple Object Tracking Accuracy) of up to 89.2%. By implementing a method for measuring roundabout entry speed, we achieved an accuracy of 94.5%.
Since 360-degree ERP frame structure has location-dependent distortion, existing video surveillance algorithms cannot be applied to 360-degree video. In this paper, an activated viewport based event detection method is proposed for 360-degree video. After extracting activated viewports enclosing object candidates, objects are finally detected in the viewports. These objects are tracked in 360-degree video space for region-based event detection. The proposed method is shown to improve the recall and the false negative rate more than 30% compared to the conventional method without activated viewports.

In this paper, we propose a detection method of reduced computational complexity aimed at separating the moving objects from the background in a generic video sequence. In generally, indoor environments, it is difficult to accurately detect the object because environmental factors, such as lighting changes, shadows, reflections on the floor. First, the background image to detect an object is created. If an object exists in video, on a previously created background images for similarity comparison between the current input image and to detect objects through several operations to generate a mixture image. Mixed-use video and video inputs to detect objects. To complement the objects detected through the labeling process to remove noise components and then apply the technique of morphology complements the object area. Environment variable such as, lighting changes and shadows, to the strength of the object is detected. In this paper, we proposed that environmental factors, such as lighting changes, shadows, reflections on the floor, including the system uses mixture images. Therefore, the existing system more effectively than the object region is detected.
