  • Visual Reality technology is becoming more and more interesting as it attracts people's interest. VR technology is used in various markets such as games, animation, and education. However, there were many people experiencing motion sickness such as dizziness and headache due to the delay time between hardware such as a device for sending a video after experiencing a VR image and an HMD for reproducing an image. The system proposed in this paper focuses on the environment rather than the movement of the attraction and detects the dividing line existing on the path by the proximity sensor and accurately calculates the position on the path according to the user 's motion. Since the position of the user is synchronized with the VR image, the position error of the user is improved to 0.2%.

  • This paper presents a knowledge-based view of platform-centered collaborations among multiple organizations. Studies of technological innovation and knowledge creation have broadened beyond their initial emphasis on internal development within an organization or simple exchange of ideas between two parties toward complex collaboration among many organizations at the level of platform-based knowledge ecosystems. Platforms serve as an interface between different groups of producers and consumers in a variety of multi-sided knowledge markets such as smartphone operating systems and video games industries. This study is an exploratory examination to offer theoretical understanding of how the organizational capabilities of platform leaders help expand a network of platform participants. The growth of platform participants is particularly important in the early stage of any platforms as the concept of network effects suggests that the platform with the largest number of participants will capture entire markets. Building upon organization studies and network economics theory on multisided markets, this paper focuses on the role of platform leaders in expanding platform-based collaboration. In our view, platform leaders develop varying levels of three organizational capabilities to discern quality of potential participants, to attract them to actually participate in collaboration, and to maintain long-term exchange relations in the ecosystem. We suggest that the capabilities of platform leaders will have a positive effect on the expansion of platform participants to secure network effects, and also examine several contextual factors that moderate the relationship between a platform leader's capacity and platform expansion.

  • Evolutionary Artificial Neural Networks (EANNs) has been highly effective in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and in training NPCs in video games. When EANNs is applied to design game NPCs' smart AI which can make the game more interesting, there always comes two important problems: the more complex situation NPCs are in, the more complex structure of neural networks needed which leads to large operation cost. In this paper, the Dynamic State Evolutionary Neural Networks (DSENNs) is proposed based on EANNs which deletes or fixes the connection of the neurons to reduce the operation cost in evolution and evaluation process. Darwin Platform is chosen as our test bed to show its efficiency: Darwin offers the competitive team game playing behaviors by teams of virtual football game players.

  • The purpose of this study is grasp the problem of the gymnast, Kim, Dong-Hwa's Kip to Swallow Motion in Rings, and make up for the weak points to help him to perform a better performance. Therefore, two tryouts for $28^{th}$ Athens Olympic Games were filmed using video camera then finalized with Kinematical Analysis using 3D motion analysis program followings are the form of conclusions. 1. In the very first tryout, when he was doing a Swallow Support Scale, his CM position was high and arm slope was deduction because when he was doing Kip, the ascent velocity was low and he tried excessively to pull him on rings due to relying upon angular movement of shoulder joint. 2. When he was doing drop, he let his hip angle bend only little bit and let fall so making shoulder angle wider and maintain the level horizontally occurs strong drop motion when vertical descent is happening. 3. As a result, lowering the direction of a kick makes CM's movement path lower, increase vertical ascent velocity, and it helps to do the Swallow Support motion in short period of time. 4. After a strong drop motion, which is deep and fast, would make rope of ring shake so there is a defect that the body moves to forward area. However, it does not effect in Swallow Support Scale motion. 5. In the second tryout, trunk rotation angle and arm slope was fixed decrease while doing rotary motion. When rotary motion was happening, before the body was going under the rings, maintained his arm slope horizontally so his Swallow Support Scale motion was nearly perfect.

  • To create gesture from a new text input is an important problem in computer games and virtual reality. Recently, there is increasing interest in gesture stylization to imitate the gestures of celebrities, such as announcer. However, no attempt has been made so far to stylize a gestures using emotion such as happiness and sadness. Previous researches have not focused on real-time algorithm. In this paper, we present a system to automatically make gesture animation from SMS text and stylize the gesture from emotion. A key feature of this system is a real-time algorithm to combine gestures with emotion. Because the system's platform is a mobile phone, we distribute much works on the server and client. Therefore, the system guarantees real-time performance of 15 or more frames per second. At first, we extract words to express feelings and its corresponding gesture from Disney video and model the gesture statistically. And then, we introduce the theory of Laban Movement Analysis to combine gesture and emotion. In order to evaluate our system, we analyze user survey responses.

  • Recently, SDN and NFV technology have been developed actively and provide enormous flexibility of network provisioning. The future network services would generally involve many different types of services such as hologram games, social network live streaming videos and cloud-computing services, which have dynamic service requirements. To provision networks for future services dynamically and efficiently, SDN/NFV orchestrators must clearly understand the service requirements. Currently, network provisioning relies heavily on QoS parameters such as bandwidth, delay, jitter and throughput, and those parameters are necessary to describe the network requirements of a service. However it is often difficult for users to understand and use them proficiently. Therefore, in order to maintain interoperability and homogeneity, it is required to have a service abstraction layer between users and orchestrators. The service abstraction layer analyzes ambiguous user's requirements for the desired services, and this layer generates corresponding refined services requirements. In this paper, we present our initial effort to design a Smart Service Abstraction Layer (SmSAL) for future network architecture, which takes advantage of machine learning method to analyze ambiguous and abstracted user-friendly input parameters and generate corresponding network parameters of the desired service for better network provisioning. As an initial proof-of-concept implementation for providing viability of the proposed idea, we implemented SmSAL with a decision tree model created by learning process with previous service requests in order to generate network parameters related to various audio and video services, and showed that the parameters are generated successfully.

  • In this paper, we suggest and test a classification technique of offence pattern from group formation to automatically index highlights of soccer games. A BP (Back-propagation) neural nets technique was applied to the information of the position of both the player and the ball on a ground, and the distance between the player and the ball to identify the group formation in space and time. The real soccer game scenes including '98 France World Cup were used to extract 297 video clips of various types of offence patterns; Left Running 60, Right Running 74, Center Running 72, Corner-kick 39 and Free-kick 52. The results are as follows: Left Running comes to 91.7%, Right Running 100%. Center Running 87.5%, Corner-kick 97.4% and Free-kick 75%, and these showed quite a satisfactory rate of recognition.

  • This study set out to investigate the effects of 16-week nutrition education and exercise intervention run by a public health center on the physical activities and dietary patterns of obese children at the before, after, and after one month point. After the program, the obese index of the obese children dropped by 5.9% from 38.4% to 32.5%. One month after the end of the program, their obese index increased by 1.4% to 33.9% (p < 0.001). The obese children's hours of walking of physical activities increased to 2.6 hours from 1.2 hours after the program and remained at the 2.6 hours range one month after the end of the program (p < 0.01). The total scores of their food habits increased to 10.4 points from 9.1 points after the program and 10.3 points one month after the end of the program with significant differences (p < 0.01). The total scores of their eating behavior made a significant increase to 6.5 points from 5.3 points after the program and then dropped to 5.9 points one month after the end of the program (p < 0.05). As for changes to their dietary pattern scores according to the obese index, only the food habits scores showed significant main effects of term (p < 0.05). According to these results, there is still a need to develop proper programs to help them increase regular exercise, improve their physical activities by cutting down time with TV, computer, Internet, and video games, and enhance their nutritional knowledge and to provide them with ongoing management and guidance until the improved food habits and eating behavior become part of their habits.
