  • The purpose of this study is to find out whether Achievement Tests are fully performing their role as an objective standard that measures student's educational achievement level by analysing the content validity of Achievement Tests developed by KICE and teachers at elementary school. In the study, the content validity of achievement tests were analyzed in the behavioral content objective dimensions. 60 instructional objectives from the Unit one to the Unit six contained in the teachers' guidebook for the elementary third-grade Math subject were analyzed into dimensions of behavior and content. And the Achievement Test developed by KICE and teachers in five elementary schools randomly chosen were collected and analyzed. Then, differences of the proportion between instructional objectives and evaluative objectives in each dimension statistically were verified. The results of the study are as follows : 1. In the dimension of behavior, as analysing and comparing the content validity of achievement tests, there was no significant difference in all domains(knowledge, comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis and evaluation). (p<.05) Therefore, it could be concluded that content validity of the Achievement Test is very high. 2. In the dimension of content, similarly there is no significant difference in all domains between achievement tests by both KICE and teachers. (p<.05) Therefore, the content validity of all tests are very high. In conclusion, it could be concluded that content validity of achievement tests is considerably high in content and behavior dimension. The study suggest the followings : 1. By expanding to the other subjects, there are needs to analyze and verify the content validity of achievement tests. 2. Even the content validity of achievement tests is considerably high however, achievement items are focused on evaluation 3 domains(knowledge, comprehension, application). Therefore evaluation evenly among 6 cognitive domains is required. And further to reduce the deviation of schools, there are needs to active interchange between teachers.

  • Objective : The aim of this study was to verify validity of the Activity Participation Assessment for school-age children. Methods : A questionnaire consisting of 30 items from the APA, 75 items from the PACS, and 55 items from the CAPE was administered to elementary school students. A total of 207 questionnaires were analyzed. Confirmatory factor analysis was performed to confirm the construct validity of the APA. Convergence validity and discriminant validity were verified with the average variance extracted (AVE) and the square of the correlation coefficient. The discriminant validity was the Pearson correlation coefficient of the APA, PACS, and CAPE. Results : The results of the analysis were as follows: 1) For construct validity, the goodness of fit of the modified hierarchical second-order factor model was found to be appropriate (p < .001), 2) For convergent validity, the AVE was higher than .50 for all latent variables, 3) For discriminant validity, the AVE of the latent variable was greater than the square of the correlation coefficient (0.239), 4) For concurrent validity, the correlation between the total sum of the APA and PACS scores showed a positive correlation in all domains, and the correlation coefficient ranged from .303 to .647 at a statistically significant level (p < .01), 5) The correlation coefficient between the total sum of the APA and CAPE scores was .490 for recreational activities, .329 for physical activities, .571 for social activities, .401 for skill-based activities, and .390 for self-improvement activities. All domains showed a positive correlation, and were statistically significant (p < .01). Conclusion : APA can be used as a valid assessment tool to measure the participation of school aged children.

  • A new sensorless position estimation method for switched reluctance motor (SRM) drives is presented in this paper. This method uses the change of the slope of the phase inductance to detect the aligned position. Since the aligned positions for successive electrical cycle of each phase are apart by a fixed mechanical angle $45^{\circ}$ in the case of 12/8 SRM, the speed of the machine can be calculated to estimate the rotor position. Since no prior knowledge of motor parameters is required, the method is easy for implementation without adding any additional hardware or memory. In order to verify the validity of this technique, effects such as changes in the advanced angle and phase lacking faults are examined. In addition, an inductance threshold based sensorless starting scheme is also proposed. Experimental results demonstrate the validity of the proposed method.

  • In this paper, an analytical model for estimation of the time at which the concrete surface begins to dry is introduced to predict whether or not plastic shrinkage cracks occur. First of all, the validity of a consolidation model for bleeding of cement paste proposed by Tan et al. is verified by comparing the analytical results with the experimental results, and used to evaluate the rate and amount of bleed water of concrete. Also an analytical model for evaporation of bleed water which considers the effect of the temperature variation of concrete surface due to hydration heat on the evaporation rate is proposed, and the experimental and analytical results are then compared to verify the validity of the introduced model. In advance, the time at which the concrete surface begins to dry is estimated using above two analytical models, and compared with the experimental results about the time at which plastic shrinkage cracks occur. From the comparison, it is verified that the proposed model can predict the occurrence of plastic shrinkage cracking with comparative precision.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop a computer-animated pure tone audiometry for screening (CAPTAS) for toddler and to determine its validity and reliability. The CAPTAS utilizes an animated cartoon story producing visual and auditory stimuli. The intensities were 40 dB, 60 dB, 80 dB. The frequencies were 500 Hz, 1000 Hz, 2000 Hz, and 4000 Hz. The subjects were 20 (9 males and 11 females) severely hearing impaired children. As a result, The correlation coefficient between mean hearing threshold of children who were able to perform PTA and average hearing threshold of CAPTAS was performed and it revealed CAPTAS's high validity. And to verify the reliability of the re-test, all children had the CAPTAS and repeated it periodically. The result confirmed the reliability.

  • The stability of tunnels is usually analyzed as plain strain condition and rock bolts are assumed as 2 dimensional equivalent continuum structures. In this study, 2 and 3 dimensional numerical analyses were conducted to verify the validity of 2 dimensional analysis of rock bolts. Since the results of 2 dimensional analysis showed more than $10\%$ differences in poor rocks, it seems that 3 dimensional analysis is required in poor rocks.

  • This research aims to verify individual and organizational factors that will affect knowledge sharing, especially in research & development organizations with a premise that knowledge sharing is one of the most important factors of successful knowledge management. Many factors which are supposed to affect knowledge sharing arc empirically investigated in this research : individual factors ((1)self esteem (2)expected contribution), organizational factors ((3)top management's will, (4)accessibility of knowledge management system (5)validity of evaluation & reward knowledge sharing, (6)trust, (7)open communication). As a result, it is found that 'expected contribution' among individual factors and 'open communication' and 'validity of evaluation & reward' among organizational factors are highly correlated with knowledge sharing. These findings suggest that enhancement of perceived expected contribution among employees and building cultures of open communication and effective evaluation & reward system for knowledge sharing will contribute to activation of knowledge sharing in the research and development organizations.

  • To verify the validity of Hemiculter eigenmanni (Jordan and Metz, 1913), we conducted morphological analysis on two syntypes of Hemiculter leucisculus (Basilewsky, 1855) and holotype of H. eigenmanni. Although some morphological differences were recognized between two nominal type specimens, it is concluded intraspecific or geographic variation through comparison with many specimens collected from Korea. Previously suggested synonymy between H. leucisculus and H. eigenmanni was reconfirmed, therefore the latter becomes a junior synonym of the former.
