Henry-Fauske critical flow model was incorporated into TRAC-PF1 to correct some errors in the original TRAC-PFI critical flow model. Henry-Fouske mode1 was numerically implemented and tested against steady-state steam-water experimental data. The model was incorporated into TRAC-PFI and code assessment against Marviken Critical Flow Tests 15 and 24 was carried out. Calculations using RELAP5/MOD3 were also made for comparison. Ten cases were calculated each test and sensitivity study on nodalization as well as critical flow or model was performed Stand-alone numerical model test and code assessment were done for verification and validation of code modification. Calculation results show that the modified version of TRAC-PF1 has a capability to model critical flow correctly in various conditions.
Purpose: This study was done to develop a cell phone addiction scale for Korean children. Methods: The process included construction of a conceptual framework, generation of initial items, verification of content validity, selection of secondary items, preliminary study, and extraction of final items. The participants were 268 children from grades 4 to 6 in two urban elementary schools. Construct validity, internal consistence reliability, and split-half reliability were used to analyze the data. Results: Nine items were categorized into 2 factors explaining 61.29% of total variance. The factors were labeled as obsessive compulsion (6 items) and dependency (3 items). Cronbach's alpha coefficient for the 9 items was .87, and Spearman-Brown coefficient was .83. Scale scores identified children as high risk users, at risk users, or average users by standard scores. Conclusion: The above findings indicate that the cell phone addiction scale for children has good validity and reliability when used with Korean children.

Ontologies are being used in order to define common vocabularies to describe the elements of schemas involved in a particular application. The problem of finding correspondences between ontologies concepts, called ontology matching, consists in the discovery of correspondences between terms of vocabularies (represented by ontologies) used by various applications. The majority of solutions proposed in the literature, despite being fully automatic, has heuristic nature and may produce nonsatisfactory results. The problem intensifies when dealing with large data sources. The goal of this paper is to propose a method for generation and incremental refinement of correspondences between ontologies. The proposed approach uses filtering techniques, as well as user feedback to support the generation and refinement of such matches. For validation purposes, a tool was developed and some experiments were conducted.
Recently, many safety measures are developing for the prevention of human error, which is main factors of railway accident. For the efficient management of human factors, many expertise on design, conditions, safety culture and staffing are required. But current safety management activities on safety critical works are focused on training, due to the limited resource and information. In order to establish railway human factors management, a systematic review model is required. Based on system engineering and nuclear industry model, a program review model is proposed in this study. The model includes operating experience review, task analysis, staffing and qualification, human reliability analysis, huma-system interface design, procedure development, training program, verification and validation, implementation and monitoring. Results can be applied for the review of safety measures relating to human factors.

This research presents a collaborative supply chain management system for curtain walls using Radio Frequency IDentification (RFID) to track the product and information flow among participants in high-rise building construction projects. This resarch developed a process model and a strategy for effective utilization of RFID technology through the curtain wall life-cycle. Then an information management system was developed to support the supply chain management of curtain walls with incorporating RFID into curtain wall products flow throughout the life-cycle. The system has been tested for validation and verification in a real world project.
Nuclear power plants may use commercial grade items if they can pass special tests or inspections, which is called Commercial Grade Item Dedication (CGID). Digital items, however, should follow EPRI TR-106439 to be applied to nuclear power plants. This paper explains the scheme and requirements of the EPRI TR-106439 and introduces some guidelines. Firstly, in order to clarify requirements of the EPRI TR-106439, code interpretation is performed. And through case study of digital indicator, limitations of EPRI TR-106439 are mentioned, and improvement direction is proposed.
The railway signaling system is being converted to the computer system from the existing mechanical device, and the dependency on software is being increased rapidly. Though the size and degree of complexity of software for railway signaling system are slower than the development speed of hardware, it is expected that the size will be grown bigger gradually and the degree of complexity will be increased also. Accordingly, the validation of reliability and safety of embedded software for train control system was started to become influential as the important issue. In this paper, we presented boundary value analysis tool for railway signaling system software, and presented its result of implementation.
Purpose: This paper suggests the procedure to enhance the reliability of the software of the medical device that is to cure, treat, diagnose, and prevent a disease or an abnormal health conditions. Methods: After test requirements are classified by the software requirements specification for safety and backgrounds, reliability assessment methods are suggested. Results: Verification and validation for function and safety can be performed whether the medical device software are implemented as intended. Conclusion: Procedure on the static analysis, unit test, integration test, and system test are provided for the medical device software.
In this paper, we reported the verification of numerical simulation approach for sedimentation of the multi-size particles in a container. The comparison between experimentally measured values and numerically evaluated values on settle down process of fully mixed mixture is carried out. In an attempt to represent the natural particle size distribution, various diameters of single particles are simulated and the results are compared with the outcome of the multi-size computation. When the empirical formula for mean particle size estimation is adopted to define the sediment diameter, computation and comparison are conducted.
In recent years, a lot of research was done for earth fault protection in ungrounded dc power supply system. As a result, selective-breaking integrated protective relaying system is developed in progress and is currently field-testing are planned. Algorithm on a PC using PSCAD done a lot of testing before performing field tests, but in this study developed algorithms and functions needed to determine whether they were operating normally. Therefore, simulated system is similar to the actual situation was required and made. selective-breaking algorithm verification and validation was performed with simulator.
