This research was performed to review operating parameters, optimum condition and check characteristic of microbubble generation for using bubble size distribution according to venturi specification. Optimum operating condition have airflow rate 0.3 LPM, 3 bar(pressure tank) and connecting nozzle directly(without valve), it is advantageous to generate microbubble. In case of characteristic of microbubble generation according to venturi specification, effect that nozzle specification affects bubble size distribution is low impact. But considering performance aspects, when using nozzle that throat diameter 3-4 mm, $D_{50}$ are $54.98-61.19{\mu}m$(D3L15, D4L15), fraction of bubble less than $50{\mu}m$ are 0.326, 0.345. And it is superior to others. Besides, $D_{50}$ and fraction of bubble less than $50{\mu}m$ of throat length 20 mm are $49.40-54.98{\mu}m$, 0.447, respectively And nozzle that throat length 20 mm is relatively tendency to generate microbubble stably.

An experimental study was performed on the orifice nozzle system that generates micro-bubbles by air self-suction using a venturi nozzle. This study experimentally investigates the amount of air sucked into the venturi nozzle and the number of micro-bubbles generated by the orifice nozzle system in Cases 1 and 2. The experimental conditions were varied by changing the diameter of the orifice nozzle (d=2~7 mm) and the number of holes of the perforated plate nozzle (n = 2-12). In Case 1, the air self-suction was more than 2 LPM at $d{\leq}4mm$. When d = 4 mm, the total number of bubbles was 29,777, and it was confirmed that micro-bubbles occupied approximately 65% of the total number of bubbles. In Case 2, the air self-suction was maintained constant at approximately 2.5 LPM regardless of the number (n) of holes. The total amount of bubbles increased when n increased but remained constant at approximately 44,000 when $n{\geq}7EA$. It was also confirmed that more than 80% of all bubbles were micro-bubbles when $n{\geq}10EA$. Thus, the number of micro-bubbles increased by approximately 15% compared to the experimental result of Case 1, which was optimized with d = 4 mm.

The cleaning characteristics of pulse air jet type cleaning system which is widely applied in the industries were identified by utilizing the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and the cleaning performance in modified shape of dedusting unit was compared in this study. The review on each shape of cleaning part showed that the case of installing the nozzle on the blow tube (Case-3) and the case of installing the double intaking tube to the venturi (Case-4 and Case-5) were more excellent than the structure (Case-1). Also, the optimal venturi shape was designed and examined its applicability to the site in a pilot scale plant. A combined system of a blow tube and a venturi proposed by this study turned out to be very effective for concentrating an cleaning air compared to existing systems, such as using only blow tube and combines the blow tube and venturi. In addition, as a result of installing and testing a venturi proposed by this study, the cleaning frequency and cleaning time were much improved compared to a case of using a commercial venturi that is under use at the industrial sites.

In a spray experiment using a venturi mounted on a lean premixed LPP injector, droplets appear to have non-uniform distributions. To solve this problem, the exit angle of the venturi was changed to form a dump surface on the nozzle neck. The dump surface improved the atomization performance and minimized droplet loss while forming recirculation zone in the venturi exit. In order to solve the non-uniform spray of the injector, the flow characteristics inside the venturi and SMD of the spray are compared. Finally, an optimum venturi shape is selected to minimize the spray loss and improve the spray performance.
The jet pump is being used in many fields for several purposes because of its simple construction and easy operation. The characteristics of the geometrical variables, pressure gradient and velocity distribution of the jet pump are studied using the CFD technique. The flow calculations through a bended nozzle. a mixing chamber and a venturi are presented and phenomenological aspects are discussed. This study solve 3-D steady incompressible Navier-Stokes equations using the Iterative time marching scheme. The governing equations are differenced with 1st-order accurate backward difference scheme for the time derivatives and 3rd-order accurate QUICK scheme for the convective terms. The Mark-and-cell concept was applied efficiently to solve continuity equation, which is differenced 2nd-order accurate central differenced scheme. The 4th-order artificial damping is added to the continuity equation for numerical stability. A O-type of grid system is generated inside a nozzle and venturi of the jet pump. It has concluded that the results of present study properly agree with physical flow phenomena.
The use of micro bubbles in industrial fields has been increasing in the recent years., particularly micro-bubble sterilization and water purification effects. Various methods have been developed for the generation of micro-bubbles. Depending on the method of generating bubbles, the micro-bubbles can be roughly classified into saturation molding, cavitation and rotation flow types. The objective of this study was to use ventilated tube type as a method of generating micro-bubbles in order to purify large amount of water quality such as lakes and reservoirs. This method shows a difference in efficiency in which micro-bubbles are generated depending on the contact ratio of gas to liquid. The study also investigated the optimal gas liquid contact ratio by applying various orifice methods and investigated the optimum condition of micro-bubble generation by gas Based on this, a technology to develop a micro-bubble generator with a venturi type nozzle shape that has a high water purification effect was developed.

A test on venturi-type premixer of ASE120 engine combustor has been performed to evaluate its mixing performance. Cold air was supplied into the premixer through the fuel nozzle and mixed with the hot air from the compressor exit. The measured temperature of the mixed air was used to evaluate the mixedness. DOE(Design of Experiment) technique was utilized to make a test matrix of variables and to determine the optimum combination of variables, which was verified through a confirmation test.

An experimental study was performed on the collision nozzle system that generates microbubble by air self-suction using a venturi nozzle. This study experimentally investigates the pressure of a pump and a dissolution tank, water flow rate, air self-suction amount and microbubble generation amount. The experimental conditions were varied by changing the diameter of the collision nozzle (de=4,5,6,7,8mm), the pumping power(0.5hp, 1.0hp) and the capacity of the dissolution tank(4.4L, 8/8L). The pressure change of the pump according to the outlet diameter of the collision nozzle showed that the 1.0hp pump power operated more stably than the 0.5hp pump. The pressure change in the dissolution tank was shown to decrease rapidly as the outlet diameter of the nozzle increased. The flow rate of recirculating water was shown to increase as the nozzle diameter increased. Additionally, it was shown that the pump capacity of 1.0hp increased the flow rate more than that of 0.5hp. The self-suction air flow rate was shown to occur above de=6mm, and the air flow rate increased as the nozzle diameter increased. Also, as the pump capacity increased, the self-suction amount of air increased. It was shown that the amount of microbubble less than 50mm generated was maximum when the nozzle diameter was 6mm, the pump power was 1.0hp, and the dissolution tank capacity was 8.8L.

Numerical study of air-blast type injector for low emission aircraft engines was conducted. Volume-of-fluids approach was used to track interface of fuel and air. Primary atomization of fuel stream was visualized, and thickness and mean velocity at the injector exit was calculated. Liquid fuel injected from fuel slots joined together as a thin film on preflimer surface, and interacted with swirling air. As instability on the fuel surface increased, separation of fuel as ligaments and droplets occured. The film thickness and velocity were used to as fuel injection boundary condition for reactive flow simulation. Primary reaction zone was formed in vicinity of the fuel nozzle, creating a stable flame inside the combustor.
Three design parameters were considered in this study: outlet nozzle angle (30°, 60°, 80°), neck length (1 mm, 3 mm), and flow rate (0.5, 0.6, 0.7, 0.8 lpm). A neck diameter of 0.5 mm induced cavitation flow at a venture nozzle. A secondary transparent chamber was connected after ejection to increase bubble duration and shape visibility. The bubble size was estimated using a Gaussian kernel function to identify bubbles in the acquired images. Data on bubble size were used to obtain Sauter's mean diameter and probability density function to obtain specific bubble state conditions. The degree of bubble generation according to the bubble size was compared for each design variable. The bubble diameter increased as the flow rate increased. The frequency of bubble generation was highest around 20 ㎛. With the same neck length, the smaller the CV number, the larger the average bubble diameter. It is possible to increase the generation frequency of smaller bubbles by the cavitation method by changing the magnification angle and length of the neck. However, if the flow rate is too large, the average bubble diameter tends to increase, so an appropriate flow rate should be selected.
