The objective of experimental study is to apply simultaneous measurement by PIV(Particle Image Velocimetry) to high_speed flow characteristics within ginseng cleaner model. Three different kinds of flow rate(15.20 27ℓ/min) are selected as experimental condition. Optimized cross correlation identification to obtain velocity vectors is implemented by direct calculation of correlation coefficients. The instantaneous velocity distribution time0mean velocity distribution and velocity profile are represented quantitatively for the deeper understanding of the flow characteristics in a ginseng cleaner model.

This paper studied a method of estimating target information using a radar in wireless communication. Position information on the target can be estimated angle, distance and velocity. The velocity information can be estimated since the Doppler frequency is changed in the moving target. The signal incident on the receiving array antenna is multiplied by the delay time and the reference signal to represent the output signal. This output signal is estimated by applying FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) after calculating signal correlation through correlation integrator. Since the output signal must be calculated within the correlator, it should be processed with the Dwell time. The correlation signal of the correlation integrator outside this Dwell time is indicated by the velocity measurement error. The FFT is applied to the signal that has passed through the correlated integrator in order to estimate the distance of the signal. The Doppler resolution must be improved because the FFT estimates target information using the Doppler information. The Doppler resolution decreases with increasing the integration time. The velocity information estimation should have no spread of the velocity. As a result of the simulation, there was no spread of the target velocity in this study.

In order to predict method of blasting vibration in ground and it's resident located around blasting field in urban area, blasting vibration characteristics were measured the vibration velocity(cm/sec), vibration acceleration($cm/sec^2$), vibration acceleration level(dB) and vibration level(dB(V)). The charged powder were used to 1.25kg and measuring sites were 25 points front 4m to 90m at the ground. The correlation of vibration velocity, vibration acceleration, vibration acceleration level and vibration level by square root scaled distance and cube root scaled distance were investigated. The correlation of PPV(peak particle velocity) velocity by SRSD(square root scaled distance) and CRSD(cube root scaled distance) was 0.85 and 0.86 and the correlation of PVS(peak vector sum) velocity by SRSD and CRSD was 0.82. Also vibration acceleration, vibration acceleration level and vibration level by SRSD and CRSD was 0.61, 0.62 and 0.82, respectively. As results, the vibration velocity and vibration level(dB(V)) was showed good correlation, but the vibration acceleration and vibration acceleration level was not showed good correlation.
In this paper, we demonstrate that Common Mid-Point (CMP) cross-correlation gathers of multi-channel and multi-shot surface waves give accurate phase-velocity curves, and enable us to reconstruct two-dimensional (2D) velocity structures with high resolution. Data acquisition for CMP cross-correlation analysis is similar to acquisition for a 2D seismic reflection survey. Data processing seems similar to Common Depth-Point (CDP) analysis of 2D seismic reflection survey data, but differs in that the cross-correlation of the original waveform is calculated before making CMP gathers. Data processing in CMP cross-correlation analysis consists of the following four steps: First, cross-correlations are calculated for every pair of traces in each shot gather. Second, correlation traces having a common mid-point are gathered, and those traces that have equal spacing are stacked in the time domain. The resultant cross-correlation gathers resemble shot gathers and are referred to as CMP cross-correlation gathers. Third, a multi-channel analysis is applied to the CMP cross-correlation gathers for calculating phase velocities of surface waves. Finally, a 2D S-wave velocity profile is reconstructed through non-linear least squares inversion. Analyses of waveform data from numerical modelling and field observations indicate that the new method could greatly improve the accuracy and resolution of subsurface S-velocity structure, compared with conventional surface-wave methods.
Objective: The purpose of this study to investigate the correlations among the motor function, balance, and gait velocity and the strength that could explain the variation of gait velocity of chronic stroke survivors. Design: This was a cross-sectional cohort study. Methods: Thirty hemiplegic stroke survivors hospitalized in an inpatient rehabilitation center were participated. The muscle tone of ankle plantarflexor and muscle strength of ankle dorsiflexor were measured respectively with modified Ashworth scale (MAS) and hand-held dynamometer. And the motor recovery and function with Fugl-Meyer assessment (FMA), balance with Berg balance scale (BBS) and timed up and go (TUG) test were measured. Gait velocity was measured with GAITRite. The correlation among motor function, muscle tone, muscle strength, balance, and gait were analyzed. In addition, the strength of the relationship between the response (gait velocity) and the explanatory variables was analyzed. Results: The gait velocity had positive correlations with FMA, muscle strength, and BBS, and negative correlation with MAS and TUG. Regression analysis showed that TUG (𝛽=-0.829) was a major explanatory variable for gait velocity. Conclusions: Our results suggest that gait velocity had correlations with muscle strength, MAS, FMA, BBS, and TUG. The tests and measurements affecting the variation of gait velocity the greatest were TUG, followed by FMA, BBS, muscle strength, and MAS. This study shows that TUG would be a possible assessment tool to determine the variation of gait velocity in stroke rehabilitation.
The main purposes of this study were to find the correlation between walking ability assessment tools using the Modified Barthel Index (MBI), Functional Independence Measure (FIM), Spinal Cord Injury Measurement II (SCIM II), Walking Index for Spinal Cord Injury (WISCI), walking velocity, and walking endurance. The study population consisted of 56 patients with spinal cord injury referred to the department of Rehabilitative Medicine in the National Rehabilitation Hospital. All subjects were ambulatory with or without an assistive device. All participants were assessed by MBI, FIM, SCIM II, WISCI, walking velocity, and walking endurance. The data were analyzed using Pearson correlation analysis and X2. There was significant correlation between the MBI, FIM, SCIM II, WISCI, walking velocity, and walking endurance (p<.01). In particular, WISCI has a significant correlation with SCIM II(p<.001). Therefore the WISCI scale is an appropriate assessment tool to predict the gait ability of patients with spinal cord injury. Further study about MBI, FIM, SCIM II, WISCI, walking velocity, and walking endurance is needed using a longitudinal study design.
The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between velocity and factors which could affect the velocity of mandibular movement. For this study, 30 dental students without any masticatory signs and symptoms and 90 patients with temporomandibular disorders(TMD) were selected as the control group and the patients group, respectively. After determining Angle's classification and lateral guidance pattern of occlusion, clinical examination for TMD was perfomed. Velocity and distance of mandibular movements were recorded with BioEGN, reproducibility index of lateral excursions was evaluated by Pantronic(PRI) and BioEGN (BERI) activity in masticatory and cervical muscles were measured with BioEMG, and occlusal contact time and cross-arch unbalance(Total left-right statistics, TLR) on clenching were recorded with T-scan, respectively. The results of this study were as follows : 1. Velocity in the patients was faster than that in the controls in most mandibular movements, but on wide opening and closing movement, result was reverse. 2. Velocity on closing movements were faster than that on opening movements in the control group and a similar tendency was also shown in the patients group. 3. Patients with muscle disorders showed a tendency to have the highest value of velocity of all diagnostic subgroups, while patients with degenerative joint diseases showed a tendency to have the lowest value. 4. Patients with canine guidance showed a tendency to have the highest value of velocity in three subgroups by lateral guidance pattern, while patients with group function showed a tendency to have the lowest value. 5. BERI had a positive correlation with opening velocity on lateral excursion, while TLR had a negative correlation with opening velocity on swallowing. 6. EMG activity on clenching in masticatory muscles had negative correlation with opening velocity on border movements, and on swollowing, while the activity in rest correlated positively with opening velocity on border movements. 7. There were positive correlation between the velocity and the distance in long components of mandibular trajectory.

Recently tennis techniques has been changed in stance patterns. Stance is consist of square stance, open stance and semi-open stance. The purpose of this study was to analyze the kinematics variables of racket head velocity during forehand stroke by stance patterns. Eight high school tennis players were chosen for the study who use semi western grip right-handed person more than career 7 years. They performed horizontal swing and vertical swing that it was done each five consecutive trial in the condition of square, open and semi-open stance. The results showed that racket head velocity significant difference was not observed in stance types between swings at impact. Y and Z components of racket head velocity for horizontal and vertical swing at second prior to impact and at impact were that y components velocity was faster horizontal swing than vertical swing and z components velocity was later horizontal swing than vertical swing. Statistically significant variable to racket head velocity and Pearson's correlation were drawn as follows. 1. Z components of racket head velocity in square stance was significant correlation by right knee joint. 2. Y components of racket head velocity in semiopen stance was significant correlation by left hip joint. 3. Y components of racket head velocity in open stance was significant correlation by left ankle joint.
A high resolution digital cinematic Particle Image Velocimetry(PIV) has been developed. The system consists of a high speed CCD camera, a continuous Ar-ion laser and a computer with camera controller. To improve the spatial resolution, we adopt a Recursive Technique for velocity interrogation. At first, we obtain a velocity vector for a larger interrogation window size based on the conventional two-frame cross-correlation PIV analysis using the FFT algorithm. Based on the knowing velocity information, more spatially resolved velocity vectors are obtained in the next iteration step with smaller interrogation windows. The correct velocity vector at the first step is found to be critical, so we apply a Multiple Correlation Validation(MCV) technique in order to decrease the spurious vectors. The MCV technique turns out to improve SNR(Signal to Noise Ratio) of the correlation table. The developed cinematic PIV method has been applied to the measurement of the unsteady flow characteristics of a Rushton turbine mixer. A total of 3,245 instantaneous velocity vectors were successfully obtained with 4 ms time resolution. The acquired spatial resolution corresponds the performance of the conventional high resolution digital PIV system using a $1K{\times}1K$ CCD camera.
