Service life prediction and evaluation of rubber components is the foundational technology necessary for securing the safety and reliability of the product and to ensure an optimum design. Even though the domestic industry has recognized the importance thereof, technology for a systematic design and analysis of the same has not yet been established. In order to develop this technology, identifying the fatigue damage parameters that affect service life is imperative. Most anti-vibration rubber components had been damaged by repeated load and aging. Hence, the evaluation of the fatigue characteristics is indispensable. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a method that can predict the service life of rubber components relatively accurately in a short period of time. This method works even in the initial designing stage. We followed the service life prediction procedure of the proposed rubber components. The weak part of the rubber and the maximum strain were analyzed using finite element analysis of the rubber bushing for the tracked vehicles. In order to predict the service life of the rubber components that were in storage for a certain period of time, the fatigue test was performed on the three-dimensional dumbbell specimen, based on the results obtained by the rubber material acceleration test. The service life formula of the rubber bushing for tracked vehicles was derived using both finite element analysis and the fatigue test. The service life of the rubber bushing for tracked vehicles was estimated to be about 1.7 million cycles at room temperature (initial stage) and about 400,000 cycles when kept in storage for 3 years. Through this paper, the service life for various rubber parts is expected be predicted and evaluated. This will contribute to improving the durability and reliability of rubber components.

As a means to cope with the climate change crisis caused by global warming, automobile manufacturers continue to make efforts to use the driving energy of vehicles as electricity. As a result, parts industry such as battery, motor, and controller are attracting attention. China is often seen in large cities, with electric vehicles such as electric bicycles, electric motorcycles, and small electric vehicles popularized and commercialized, mainly in large cities. However, small electric vehicles are not popular in Korea, which is why the country's topography is high in hills. In order to drive the hilly domestic roads, power performance including vehicle climbing ability should be improved. In order to improve the power performance and the climbing capacity of small electric vehicles, the capacity of the motor should be increased. However, when the performance of the motor is improved, the weight of the motor becomes heavy and the price competitiveness is likely to decrease. In addition, in order to operate a high-performance motor, the power consumption of the battery is rapidly increased, so various problems must be solved. In order to commercialize a small electric vehicle for one or two people who do not emit harmful exhaust gas to the human body in a hilly domestic terrain, it is effective to have a separate transmission system. In this study, we were conducted dynamometer test to produce a continuously variable transmission(CVT) system prototype using a spring that can be applied to a small electric vehicle and to install a CVT system prototype manufactured in a small electric vehicle. The dynamometer test results showed that the maximum speed performance, acceleration performance, and climbing performance were improved.
This study investigates the impact of increased adoption of eco-friendly vehicles on ozone (O3) concentrations in South Korea, utilizing the community multiscale air quality (CMAQ) model. In the summer of 2017 (June-August), we conducted two experiments: a BASE experiment, representing baseline emissions, and an R_30 experiment, involving a 30% emission reduction due to eco-friendly vehicles. The contrast between these experiments reveals that, while most air pollutants decreased with reduced vehicle emissions, O3 concentrations surprisingly increased (up to 2.1 parts per billion) across South Korea. A further examination of O3 concentration changes was conducted by analyzing daytime and nighttime variations as well as wind direction. During the daytime, O3 concentrations notably rose near metropolitan areas due to reduced O3 titration (O3 + NO → O2 + NO2) resulting from emission reductions. At nighttime, O3 concentrations exhibited a greater increase, attributed to the transport of daytime-generated O3 to rural regions. Notably, the impact of reduced emissions in metropolitan areas on O3 concentrations in downwind areas varied depending on the prevailing wind direction. These findings highlight that the promotion of eco-friendly vehicles, though effective in lowering certain air pollutants, might not directly influence O3 concentrations. This study underscores the need to comprehensively understand the complicated chemistry of O3 to develop effective strategies for air quality management.
Implementing flexible production systems in domestic and foreign automotive design parts assembly has increased demand for automation and power reduction. Consequently, transition to a hybrid production method is observed where multiple vehicles are assembled in a single assembly line. Multiple robots, 3D vision sensors, mounting positions, and correction software have complex configurations in the automotive glass mounting system. Hence, automation is required owing to significant difficulty in the assembly process of automobile parts. This study presents a primer lighting and inspection algorithm that is robust to the assembly environment of real automotive design parts using high power 'ㄷ'-shaped LED inclined lighting. Furthermore, a 2D camera was developed in the primer coating inspection system-the core technology of the glass mounting system. A primer application demo line applicable to the actual automobile production line was established using the proposed high power lighting and algorithm. Furthermore, application inspection performance was verified using this demo system. Experimental results verified that the performance of the proposed system exceeded the level required to satisfy the automobile requirements.
In this paper, the system is proposed and implemented to share the part number, the part name, and the vehicle type through the improvement sharing bulletin board for automobile repair and maintenance. And when photos of damage parts are uploaded to the system, the system analyzes it using a deep learning model to analyze whether it is damaged and automatically classify the type of damage. By providing repair and maintenance quotes for a significant part, the system provides economically repaired by providing comparative adjustment information on repair costs to drivers who are particularly concerned about the market prices of parts and maintenance services. Through the existing bulletin board, you can exchange and share information about parts by sharing various information on repair and maintenance. This paper provides in detail the average market price per type of damage during automobile repair and maintenance, helping drivers who do not know the details of parts and maintenance services to receive reasonable quotes by providing price information.
Environmental issues are attracting increasing interest worldwide, and accordingly, environmental regulations for vehicles are being made more stringent. As a result, the car industry is conducting studies focusing on fuel efficiency and lightweight vehicles. To manufacture lightweight vehicles, existing steel parts are replaced by composite materials and lightweight metals. In this study, the fatigue life of a new material for manufacturing lightweight car door hinges was predicted using a finite-element analysis program. The existing steel material was replaced by carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) and aluminum alloy 6061, and the test results were analyzed. The maximum stress decreased by approximately three times, whereas the fatigue life and safety factor increased. When only CFRP was used, its allowable stress, safety factor, and fatigue life were excellent, but the sagging of the product exceeded the allowable value, which posed a limitation in use. Therefore, it seems desirable to use an appropriate combination of steel, AA6061, and CFRP for this product.

The second is to develop the real time vehicles tracking and intelligent TMS. Proposed system consists of four parts : (1) intelligent TMS(web system) (2) real time vehicle tracking application for TMS (3) real time tracking application for customer (4) salesman supporting application. Developed system was tested at the transportation company and was found to be an useful system.
In this study, localized development of a submerged cryogenic pump for use in LNG containers is conducted with large-sized commercial vehicles as the target. The submerged pump installed in an LNG storage container is the key module that supplies fuel to the engine through the reciprocating motion of a piston. Research and development on 660-L fuel containers is performed herein. The target is to achieve a mileage of 600 km or more by applying it to major NGV vehicles worldwide. In this manner, the present study aims to verify the operating mechanisms of the major parts of currently advanced products through reverse engineering in the early development process and draw basic design data.
Electric vehicles are widely produced from many car manufacturers around the world instead of internal combustion engine vehicle in order to respond a variety of environmental regulations. Also, they are applying for modular design method to develop plenty of the vehicles. And, both of these two issues will be an important trend to lead the future global automobile industries for a long time. In this paper, new brake architecture concept is proposed in order to respond to such a situation. First, physical interfaces between brake system like caliper, disc and other counter-parts are established for modular assembly. Second, we analyze effective factors of brake system for electric vehicles which need to reflect vehicle specifications such as total vehicle weight. Here, we consider ideal brake force by critical deceleration. Third, we simulate accumulated regenerative brake energy for two main driving modes to confirm to effectiveness for a variety of Electric Vehicle. Finally, we hope that it contributes to implement brake architecture for the development of Electric Vehicle platform through such a study.
