Development of Operating Technology for AGV System (AGV 시스템의 운영기술 개발)

  • We deals with stationary layout control system of AGV. It is a intelligent control system to he wholly charged control PC a layout information and guided command and to be controlled a vehicle driving, steering, safety of natural functions of AGV. Fieldbus concentrator of stationary layout control system serves control command from control PC and status information of AGV. Telegram software monitors transmitted command and status information through IR(JnfraRed) modem. Especially it is possible to easily network to use not an exclusive controller of AGV but personal computer(PC) when communicate and interface a different kind of controller.

Space Proposed in Accordance with the Usage Patterns and Analysis of the Charging Station Environment of Electric Vehicles

  • This study analyzed the electric vehicle recharging station status with recharging time limitation due to long waiting time, and figured out the user status by user interviews. And then this study verified the validity of hypothesis in terms of environmental design perspective and suggested layout of recharging station model. 21 recharging stations in Korea and station operation cases of 7 countries were examined. Except for the USA, the reality of electric vehicle recharging station today is the 1st proving stage focusing on the infrastructure construction of electric vehicle recharging station. It focuses on performance of recharging facility, use efficiency and operation environment of electric vehicle. About the effective waiting time of the user to use it should be studied. The current conditions of recharging station are as follows: Lack of independent recharging space, lack of facility that reduces external effect of recharging space, and lack of lounge for users during the waiting time. These three are essential factors constructing a suggesting model after basic layout, which needs proper measurement on the long recharging time and long waiting time. The essential factors are applied to electric vehicle recharging station layout so that users might use 'digital refresh" i.e. lounge and information contents service during the waiting time which provides convenience of recharging and emotional space with users. Such upgrade recharging station environmental model might resolve the burden of long recharging time which may contribute to the popularization of electric vehicles.

A study on Decision Model of Disuse Status for the Commercial Vehicles Considering the Military Operating Environment

  • The proportion of commercial vehicles currently used by the private sector among the vehicles operated by the military is very high at 58% and plans to increase further in the future. As the proportion of commercial vehicles in the military has increased, it is also an important issue to determine whether to disuse of commercial vehicles. At present, the decision of disuse of commercial vehicles is subjectively judged by vehicle technical inspector using design life and vehicle usage information. However, the difference according to the military operation environment is not reflected and objective judgment criteria are not presented. The purpose of this study is to develop a model to determine the disuse status of commercial vehicles in consideration of military operating environment. The data used in the study were 1,746 commercial vehicles of three types: cars, vans and trucks. Using the information of the operating area, climate characteristic, vehicle condition the decision model of disuse status was constructed using the classification machine learning technique. The proposed decision model of disuse status has an average accuracy of about 97% and can be used in the field. Based on the results of the study, the policy suggestions were proposed in the short and long term to improve the performance of decision model of disuse status of commercial vehicles in the future and to establish a new data construction method within the logistics information system.

  • Since Korea joined the ranks of the developed countries, the interests in people with disabilities are rising. In particular, as disabled people become more active, to improve the transportation vulnerable's the right of movement have been required more strongly. Thus each municipality has been various efforts to do this. In this study we provide a understanding of each local government authority status which associated with operation of special transport systems, a call-taxi for transportation vulnerable and investigate the implementation status of mobility support system for traffic vulnerable which provided with automatic vehicle delivery. Also, with identification of automatic vehicle delivery problems the system, we design and implement a best-effort automatic vehicle delivery algorithm to improve these problems. Algorithm proposed in this study actually applied to commercial system of local governments to resolve the existing problems and to check to operate normally. The results are expected to provide to more exact and faster automatic vehicle delivery to transportation vulnerable and to improve the convenience of transportation vulnerable's movement.

A Realistic Path Loss Model for Real-time Communication in the Urban Grid Environment for Vehicular Ad hoc Networks

  • Wireless signal transmission is influenced by environmental effects. These effects have also been challenging for Vehicular Ad hoc Network (VANET) in real-time communication. More specifically, in an urban environment, with high mobility among vehicles, a vehicle's status from the transmitter can instantly trigger from line of sight to non-line of sight, which may cause loss of real-time communication. In order to overcome this, a deterministic signal propagation model is required, which has less complexity and more feasibility of implementation. Hence, we propose a realistic path loss model which adopts ray tracing technique for VANET in a grid urban environment with less computational complexity. To evaluate the model, it is applied to a vehicular simulation scenario. The results obtained are compared with different path loss models in the same scenario based on path loss value and application layer performance analysis. The proposed path loss model provides higher loss value in dB compared to other models. Nevertheless, the performance of vehicle-vehicle communication, which is evaluated by the packet delivery ratio with different vehicle transmitter density verifies improvement in real-time vehicle-vehicle communication. In conclusion, we present a realistic path loss model that improves vehicle-vehicle wireless real-time communication in the grid urban environment.

  • This is concerned with the technology to monitor the vehicle operation, failure and disorder by using WiBro portable device. More precisely, the technology makes it possible that the information collection device is connected to both ECU(Electronic Control Unit) which is the device for controlling engine, transmission, brake, air-bag, etc that are connected to in-vehicle network and OBD-II connector that is for data collection from various sensors. In addition, with a WiBro portable device (cell phone, PDA, PMP, UMPC, etc). equipped with a vehicle diagnostic programs, information for operation, failure and malfunction can be obtained and analyzed in real-time, and alarm is alerted when the vehicle is in abnormal status, which makes the early reactions to the status. Furthermore, the collected data can be sent through WiBro network to the server managed by the company specialized in managing the vehicles, thus the technology could help the drivers who have less knowledge about their auto-vehicles have safe and economic driving. There is always a possibility of malfunction due to various types of noise that are caused by wring-harness when the device is wired-connected. In this research, in order to overcome this problem, we propose a system configuration that can do monitoring and diagnosis with a device for collecting data from vehicle and a personal WiBro device. Also, we performed research on data acquisition and interlock for the system defined by the definition for information and data sharing platform.

  • It is necessary to establish a system suitable for the driving vehicle so that it can effectively search for and modify various data anywhere and anytime by effectively linking communication with the computer system in the running vehicle and to control the equipment properly for smooth operation on a limited platform do. Also, vehicle CAN communication is used to extract system engine information, and data is transmitted using ZigBee for this information transmission. Therefore, OBD-II protocol, which is provided by the vehicle itself, is used for vehicle CAN to obtain vehicle status information and exhaust gas using various sensor information of the vehicle and O2 sensor value, and transmits it to the ZigBee main control system. In this study, we implemented a system that can reduce the battery load damage to the maximum by reducing the power consumption to the maximum, and to monitor the internal state of the vehicle through ZigBee communication with the embedded system for low power vehicles.

  • In this paper, we propose a technique of drowsiness detection using a histogram for vehicle safety. The drowsiness of vehicle drivers is often the main cause of many vehicle accidents. Therefore, the checking of eye images in order to detect the drowsiness status of a driver is very important for preventing accidents. In our suggested method, we analyse the changes of a histogram of eye region images which are acquired using a CCD camera. We develop a drowsiness detection system using this histogram change information. The experimental results show that the proposed method enhances the accuracy of detecting drowsiness to nearly 97%, and can be used to prevent accidents due to driver drowsiness.

  • Recently it is becoming more common to apply vehicle electronics(Vetronics) based on information technology to improve the operability of the combat vehicles. Although the vehicle electronics system has been gradually developed, it is hard not only to design the reliable system which is a built-in multi-function but also to analyze the fault failure in the state of on-vehicle when failures occur. Therefore, It is required the data logging system like a aircraft's black box for the combat vehicles to enhance the reliability. In this paper, we developed the multi data acquisition and analysis device which is acquiring real-time data such as communication data, video data and voice data available for checking operational status of system and managing history. The performance of device has been proved on the vehicle.

  • This paper presents the Traffic information system that based on an embedded WinCE board which has GPS and HSDPA. This system is able to overcome the limit of area using the Internet service which other systems can't provide. When the embedded board receives data about the geometric and vehicle speed information, it transmits to the server via HSDPA/the Internet. The server receives and processes it for the path services. And also we present the path guidance algorithm which is based on the speed information. These algorithm responses to the dynamical traffic condition through updating traffic information. Especially, we suggest a Traffic Status Variable in each branch which represents each road's traffic status. This Traffic Status Variable contains speed, road grade; we separate the road three groups as speed limitation; and past speed data - for example, week day rush hour of each road. In addition, the data of cross about left-turn or right-turn can update. Those elements is consisted Traffic Status Variable.
