차량 운동에 따른 GMLAN 차량 속도와 실제 차량 속도 비교 (A COMPARATIVE STUDY BETWEEN GMLAN SPEED AND GPS REPORTED VEHICLE SPEED BY VEHICLE MANEUVER)

  • Some GM (General Motors) vehicles are using a GMLAN (General Motors Local Area Network) communication protocol for control and diagnostics. The airbag control module uses vehicle speed information from the GMLAN to record the vehicle speed as pre-crash information. In order to use the vehicle speed information for crash reconstruction purposes, it helps to be able to understand the accuracy of the data. The actual vehicle speed is not expected to be the same as the GMLAN indicated speed in some situations like a spin or if there is hard braking. This paper compares the actual vehicle speed and vehicle speed information during specific vehicle maneuvers. Actual vehicle speed is calculated from a GPS sensor, while GMLAN vehicle speed is calculated from transmission output sensor by the Engine control module (ECM). Vehicle maneuvers defined as Mode #1, Mode #2, Mode #3. The Mode #1 maneuver simulates wheel lock-up and skidding f by hard-braking at a specific speed. The Mode #2 maneuver simulates a 90degree turn using a J-turn maneuver at a specific speed. The Mode#3 maneuver simulates a 180 degree turn using a spin type of maneuver at a specific speed. The study then compares the GMLAN speed and GPS speed to see what speed difference exists between them. The results of this paper are applicable to GM vehicles only. This paper catalogs the performance and limitations of two vehicles as useful reference for crash reconstructions where there is a need to understand the speed indicated in the pre-crash section of the SDM data.

한국형 무인항공기 연동 프로토콜 기반 시스템 구축을 위한 API 기반 공통 DLI 메시지 모듈 설계 (Design of Common DLI Message Module based on API for the System based on Construction of the Korean Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Interface Protocol)

  • 최근 국내에서는 무인항공기 간 상호 운용성을 확보하기 위해 STANAG-4586 기반의 한국형 무인항공기(UAV) 연동 프로토콜(K-4586)을 개발하고 있다. K-4586 기반 무인 항공기 체계(UAS)의 핵심 요소는 Core UAV Control System(CUCS), Vehicle Specific Module(VSM) 및 Data Link Interface(DLI), C4I 시스템으로 이루어져 있다. K-4586 기반 UAS에서 VSM과 CUCS는 UAV 연동을 위한 DLI 메시지 송수신 기능을 개별적으로 포함한다. Generator/Analyzer(G/A) 도구는 핵심 요소인 VSM 및 CUCS에 대한 프로토콜 적합성 검증을 위해 개발되는 도구이며, DLI 메시지 송수신 기능이 포함된 G/A 도구가 별도로 개발되어야 한다. K-4586 기반 핵심 응용프로그램(VSM, CUCS, DLI) 및 G/A 도구는 개발 주체 별로 독립적으로 개발될 수 있다. 만약 개발 주체 별로 DLI 메시지 모듈이 상이한 경우, 프로토콜 적합성 검증 범위 및 결과가 달라지며, 시스템 통합 시 문제가 발생할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 K-4586 기반 핵심 응용프로그램과 프로토콜 적합성 검증 도구 개발에 필수적인 DLI 메시지 송수신 기능을 API 기반 공통 DLI 메시지 모듈로 구현하였다. 제안한 공통 DLI 메시지 모듈 적용 시, UAS 시스템 개발 기간 단축 및 비용 절감을 기대할 수 있으며, 프로토콜 적합성을 보장할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 API 기반 공통 DLI 메시지 모듈에 대한 설계 및 구현 방법을 제시하고, 시험을 통한 기능 검증 결과를 기술한다.

  • The door stiffness is one of the important factors side impact. Generally, the researches have been conducted on the assembled door module. This study is to analysis the side impact characteristics for automotives door module. The impact characteristics have been determined by door module side impact test machine. To determine the initial, intermediate and peak crush resistances use the plot of load versus displacement and obtain the integral of the applied load with respect to the crush distances specified below for each door tested. The initial crush resistance is the average force required to deform the door through the initial 6 inches of crush. The intermediate crush resistance is the average force required to deform the door through the initial 12 inches of crush. The peak crush resistance will be directly obtained from the plot of load versus displacement since it is the largest force required to deform the door through the entire 18 inches crush distance. The data are used to determine if a specific vehicle or item of automotives equipment meets the minimum performance requirements of the subject Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard(FMVSS). FMVSS Static 214, Side impact protection, specifies performance requirements for protection of occupants in side impact crashes.

A Modularized Charge Equalization Converter for a Hybrid Electric Vehicle Lithium-Ion Battery Stack

  • This paper proposes a modularized charge equalization converter for hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) lithium-ion battery cells, in which the intra-module and the inter-module equalizer are Implemented. Considering the high voltage HEV battery pack, over approximately 300V, the proposed equalization circuit modularizes the entire $M^*N$ cells; in other words, M modules in the string and N cells in each module. With this modularization, low voltage stress on all the electronic devices, below roughly 64V, can be obtained. In the intra-module equalization, a current-fed DC/DC converter with cell selection switches is employed. By conducting these selection switches, concentrated charging of the specific under charged cells can be performed. On the other hand, the inter-module equalizer makes use of a voltage-fed DC/DC converter for bi-directional equalization. In the proposed circuit, these two converters can share the MOSFET switch so that low cost and small size can be achieved. In addition, the absence of any additional reset circuitry in the inter-module equalizer allows for further size reduction, concurrently conducting the multiple cell selection switches allows for shorter equalization time, and employing the optimal power rating design rule allows fur high power density to be obtained. Experimental results of an implemented prototype show that the proposed equalization scheme has the promised cell balancing performance for the 7Ah HEV lithium-ion battery string while maintaining low voltage stress, low cost, small size, and short equalization time.

  • Modularized charge equalization converter for HEV lithium-ion battery cells is proposed in this paper, in which intra-module and inter-module charge equalization can be achieved at the same time. For intra-module charge equalization, the conventional flyback DC/DC converters of low power and small size are employed, in which all of the primary sides are coupled in parallel for selective charge of the specific under charged cell within the module. For inter-module charge equalization, the flyback DC/DC converters are also added, in which all the secondary windings are electrically linked in parallel for automatic charge balancing among the modules. An engineering sample of forty cells hiring the proposed cell balancing scheme is implemented and its experimental result shows that the proposed modularized charge equalization circuit has good cell balancing performance.

  • Supercapacitors as novel energy storage devices between conventional capacitors and batteries, with more specific capacitance and energy densities than conventional capacitors and more power densities than batteries are to be used in many fields. Supercapacitor is regarded as one of good alternatives for meeting the requirement of market with excellent power performance and high cyclability. This paper deals with the characteristics of charge and discharge behavior of supercapacitor module for developing 42V hybrid energy storage system with lead acid battery and supercapacitor in order to adopt to 42V power net for vehicle. An analysis performed in this paper indicates that supercapacitor storage system may be cost effective for high cycle applications.

  • 현재 시범 시행중인 자동요금징수(ETC: Electronic Toll Collection) 서비스는 차량 주행 중에 차량내의 자동요금징수 서비스 전용 단말기에 내장된 카드 리더 장치로부터 삽입된 스마트 카드의 정보를 읽어 과금을 결재하는 방식을 채택하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 현 ETC 시스템인 카드 리더 방식에서 발생되는 단점을 극복하고 처리하여 성능이 향상된 자동요금징수 서비스를 위하여 차량이 주행 중에 휴대폰을 이용하여 통행료를 자동으로 징수하는 시스템을 제안한다. 휴대폰을 이용한 자동요금징수 결재 시스템을 통하여 운전자는 카드리더의 이용시 발생되는 카드와 카드 리더간의 불일치로 발생될 수 있는 문제점을 극복할 수 있으며 나아가 휴대폰을 이용하여 요금을 결재함으로서 보다 능률적인 데이터 처리 및 편리한 사용자 환경을 구축하였다.

  • This paper presents the design of hardware platform, which is a test bed for the navigation system and hovering type AUV (Autonomous Underwater Vehicle) under the OCP (Open Control Platform). The developed AUV test bed consists of two hulls, four thrusters, and the navigation system which uses a SBC2440II with IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit). And the SMC (Sliding Mode Control) is chosen for the diving and steering control of the AUV. This paper uses ACE/TAO RTEC (Real-Time Event Channel) as a middleware platform in order to control and communicate in the developed AUV test bed. In this paper, two computers are used and each of them is dedicated for the specific purpose, the first computer is used as the SMC module and the middleware platform for the ACE/TAO RTEC and the second computer is used for the sensor controller. We analyze the performance of the AUV test bed under the OCP.

And, social demand on fuel economy and reducing pollution needs equipment of new function such as energy storage system with good power performance, high cyclability and good energy efficiency. Supercapacitor is regarded as one of good alternatives for meeting the requirement of market with excellent power performance and high cyclability. This paper deals with the fundamental characteristics of supercapacitor unit and charge and discharge behavior of supercapacitor module for developing 42V hybrid energy storage system with lead acid battery and supercapacitor in order to adopt to 42V power net for vehicle.

  • This technology is applicable to Electrical vehicle that using Energy from Hydrogen Fueled Cell. Electricity & water is got from chemical reaction between H2 & O2 in stack. This technology is used when fault diagnosis of Fuel cell is needed. It is General method that measure each cell's voltage of stack for fault diagnosis. but, this technology is method of measuring entire voltage of stack. For this reason, fault diagnosis system is simplified and cost of system is lower than previous one. In normal stack condition, characteristic graph of voltage-current has linearity. In fault stack condition, it has non-linearity. we use this characteristic to diagnosis of stack fault. In this technology, Specific frequency current is injected into stack & Stack voltage is measured in response. After that, stack voltage difference is analyzed to diagnosis of stack fault. Presently, Development of current injection module & basic program of THDA is finished. in future we will develop the technology of precise measurement technology about entire stack voltage.
