Sound Quality Improvement of Electric Parking Brake System (EPB(Electric Parking Brake) 작동음질 개선에 관한 연구)

  • Customers want to have more convenient and comfortable vehicle. Motor-on-caliper EPB(Electrical Parking Brake) System is one of the new systems for customer's convenience. It is applied for Midsize vehicle for reducing weight/price compared to cable puller type EPB. In this paper we studied sound quality improvement of motor-on-caliper EPB system. We developed the sound quality index and suggested the interior sound quality target value. To meet the target value cascading target was also suggested. EPB motor vibration level & sound radiation level, vibro-acoustic transfer function level from EPB to interior was defined. To find out effective way of sound quality improvement and find cascading target, TPA(Transfer Path Analysis) was carried out.

CAE-based DFSS Study for Road Noise Reduction (로드 노이즈 개선을 위한 전산응용해석 기반 DFSS 연구)

  • In the early phase of vehicle development, CAE is conducted as tool for vehicle performance assessment. To maintain acceptable road noise performance, solution for reduced vehicle sensitivity is required. Chassis interface dynamic stiffness characteristics are key component to isolating vibration and noise of road from the vehicle interior. This research provide how to set up the optimized dynamic characteristics under noise effect through DFSS study. CAE-based DOE is performed to build prediction math model, CMS process involves DOE to achieve very fast run times while giving results very comparable. Minimized 95th percentile of performance distribution is applied to minimize vehicle sensitivity and road noise levels variation during the optimization process. Finally, the results of optimization were reviewed for performance and robustness.

  • A study of prediction and qualification techniques for structure borne booming noise is presented in this paper. Result from acoustic normal mode finite element analysis of a 1/2 size vehicle cavity sample model is compared to the that from an experiment. Coupled structural-acoustic analysis is performed on a 1/4 size vehicle cavity sample model surrounded by 2 mm thick normal steel plates. Interior noise levels around passensger's ear position are predicted and reduced by structural modification based on panel participation factor analysis about the sample cavity model. Futhermore, optimization technique in application of anti-vibration pad is studied.

  • Active noise control of random noise which propatate in the vehicle cabin as a form of spherical wave is the target of this study. In the previous study, the adaptive algorithm for adaptive controller is presented for the application in active noise control system. And for the preliminary study of adaptive active noise control in vehicle cabin as a real system, a computer simulation is performed on the effectiveness of the adaptive algorithm in the amplitude of the pressure fluctuation. This work studies the implementation of multi-channel feedforward adaptive algorithm for the reduction of the noise inside a vehicle cabin using a number of secondary sources derived by adaptive filtering of reference noise source. Multi-channel adaptive feedforward algorithm are verified in numerical simulation and semi-experimental justification of developed system is made on a domestic passenger car. In the results of semi-experimental study, the noise of specific region in the interior of automobile are reduced for the appreciabe sound pressure level in the operating engine rpm and finally this study suggests the capabilities of the real time active noise control in 3 dimensional acoustic fields.
