  • DC Arc Plasma was applied in order to convert of hydrocabon fuels (Methane) to hydrogen, which has higher available energy. Plasma can generate very high temperatures with a high degree of control, using electricity. Plasma can be used to produce the pure hydrogen fuel, and has rapid response time. In addition, the use of plasma could provide for a greater variety of operating modes including the posibility of virtual elimination of $CO_2$ production by pyrolytic operation and could obtain byproduct (Carbonblack).

  • Schwarz's Bayesian information criterion (BIC) is one of the most popular criteria for model selection, that was derived under the assumption of independent and identical distribution. For correlated data in longitudinal studies, Jones (Statistics in Medicine, 30, 3050-3056, 2011) modified the BIC to select the best linear mixed effects model based on the effective sample size where the number of parameters in covariance structure was not considered. In this paper, we propose an extended Jones' modified BIC by considering covariance parameters. We conducted simulation studies under a variety of parameter configurations for linear mixed effects models. Our simulation study indicates that our proposed BIC performs better in model selection than Schwarz's BIC and Jones' modified BIC do in most scenarios. We also illustrate an example of smoking data using a longitudinal cohort of cancer patients.

  • The p-dioxanone can be used to make a variety of commercially useful products particularly where biodegradability is desired, such as fibers, sutures, molded articles, containers, medical devices and surgical clips, film and compostable trash bags. The mole fraction solubility of p-dioxanone in various solvents such as acetone, ethylacetate, tetrahydrofuran, methanol, ethanol, 1-propanol, 1-butanol and 1-pentanol were measured over the temperature range from 263.05 K to 288.45 K. The solubility of p-dioxanone increases with increasing polarity of the solvents.

  • The superconducting magnetic energy storage (SMES) system is considered to be useful to charge or release an energy in power system because of the high efficiency and quick response. But we need much capital to construct and to operate a SMES. A site and capacity of SMES are important elements for effective operating and planning. In this paper, we proposed a performance function to determine an optimal site and capacity of SMES according to variety condition of power system such as fault point. In addition, to demonstrate the validity of a proposed method, the simulations were carried out on two-machine 5-bus system.

  • The application of LCC-techniques is being introduced at the on-going procurement programs of various techniques. LCC-techniques have the common characteristic that all are designed to motivate contractors to design, manufacture and deliver equipment with lower life cycle costs. You may believe that savings may be in the acquisition cost component of life cycle costs. However, primary emphasis is generally on reducing and controlling operating and support costs by transferring more responsibility to the contractor for equipment operating and support cost performance. It has been found that life cycle cost procurement provisions must be individually tailored to each program. In this study, the currently identified LCC procurement techniques including a variety of LCC incentive provisions are introduced. Moreover, verification method, a procedural issue and incentive to application of LCC-techniques are examined.

  • In this paper, I analyze the success factors of the mobile game "Marble for Kakao", and propose the factors that should be emphasized when converting the board game to digital. has converted to digital game using board game widely known in Korea. At this time, it differs from the existing , reducing the time required to play the game once, allowing the user to concentrate for a short period of time by giving a visual expression, and to repeatedly play the game several times. It also allows users to experience a variety of maps and character enhancement systems so that they can continue to be interested. Thus, Marble for Kakao has optimized the digital environment, not digitally portraying existing board games.

  • In an IP network, various types of traffics are statistically multiplexed to utilize efficiently the network resources. The DiffServ-aware-MPLS supports a wide variety of communication services with different QoS requirements. The DiffServ-aware-MPLS based on QoS architecture had become one of the most promising ways to guarantee QoS Multi-service IP network. But how to manage IP network with QoS guarantee is still an open issue. In this paper, we propose DiffServ-aware-MPLS buffer management technique using the specified policing, queuing, and scheduling

  • We have performed DFT B3LYP/6-31G(d,p) calculations to investigate the complexation behaviors of the ethyl ester derivative of p-tert-butylcalix[6]arene (1) toward a variety of alkylammonium ions. We have studied the binding sites of these host-guest complexes focusing on the p-tert-butylcalix[6]arene pocket (endo) of 1. The smaller alkylammonium cations have the better complexation efficiency than the bulkier alkylammonium ions with the p-tert-butylcalix[6]aryl ester. The hydrogen-bonding of N-H$\ldots$O is one of the important factors for the complexation behavior of the p-tert-butylcalix[6]aryl ester, in addition to the NH-aromatic π, CH-aromatic π and electrostatic interactions, and the steric hindrance of alkylammonium cation. The hydrogen-bonded distances and angles of N-H$\ldots$O are reported for the complexes of the p-tert-butylcalix[6]aryl ester with various alkylammonium ions.

  • In this paper, we propose a modified Viterbi algorithm to compensate for endpoint detection error during the decoding phase of an isolated word recognition task. Since the conventional Viterbi algorithm explores only the search space whose boundaries are fixed to the endpoints of the segmented utterance by the endpoint detector, the recognition performance is highly dependent on the accuracy level of endpoint detection. Inaccurately segmented word boundaries lead directly to recognition error. In order to relax the degradation of recognition accuracy due to endpoint detection error, we describe an unconstrained search of word boundaries and present an algorithm to explore the search space with efficiency. The proposed algorithm was evaluated by performing a variety of simulated endpoint detection error cases on an isolated word recognition task. The proposed algorithm reduced the Word Error Rate (WER) considerably, from 84.4% to 10.6%, while consuming only a little more computation power.

  • Outlier is one that appears to deviate extremely from other data in collected data. Thus treatment of outlier is very important work, because it is to distort the meaning of whole data in its analysis and to reduce the accuracy and validity for adequate models. The aim of this paper is to present some ways of handling outliers in given data and to investigate the effect of the analysis result before and after outlier reject. As a variety of methods has been proposed, we sellect the linear regression analysis and two linear programming techniques and compare to each result.
