제왕절개 분만율의 지역간 변이에 영향을 미치는 의료기관 특성요인 분석 -의료보험관리공단 대상자를 중심으로- (Analysis of Institutional Factors Influencing Regional Variations in the Cesarean Section Rate)

  • The purpose of this study is to estimate cesarean section rate in Korea and analyze characteristics of health care institution which affect regional variation in the rate. We have searched vaginal and cesarean section deliveries among Diagnosis Related Group dat based upon insurance claim bills which have been submitted to Korean Insurance Corporation for two years since March, 1985. The results are as follows: 1. Out of all delivery cases of 87,500, cesarean section rate was 16.3% (14,299 cases). 2. Cesarean section rate varied according to size and ownership of health care institutions. In above 6- bed sized hospitals, the rate was at about 20% higher than small sized institutions, but rather in hospitals that have more than 500 beds, it was somewhat low. Classified by the hospital ownership, the rate was low at 18.4% in hospitals of religious organization and highest at private or corporate hospitals. 3. This study shows large regional variation in cesarean section rate; there are two times differences between region with the highest and lowest rate. Strongly related factors in that variation was the ownership of health care institution and urbanization variables. Low level of cesarean section rate in a region is explained by high proportion of delivery cases at institutions of religious organization and at insitutions in county level site. This result shows that apart from medical conditions of patients, indications of cesarean section differs from health care providers, and especially ownership of institution strongly affect them. Cesarean section rate in Korea is supposed to be at high level and development of utilization review programs to keep appropriate cesarean section rate is needed.

FRP 보강재의 최적 단면 형상 결정 및 평가에 관한 연구 (Structural Assessment of the Optimal Section Shape of FRP Based Stiffeners)

  • This paper deals with the structural assessment of metallic and non-metallic stiffened/monocoque plated marine structures under a lateral pressure load to identify appropriate combination of material and section configuration, especially at the preliminary marine structural design stage. A generic rectangular plated structure is exemplified from the metallic superstructure of a marine vessel and its structural topology is varied for the structural assessment. In total 13 different structural topologies are proposed and assessed using appropriate elastic solutions in conjunction with a set of stress and deflection limits obtained from practice. The geometry dimensions and weights of the structural topologies are calculated, and subsequently, the costs of the materials used in the structural topologies are reviewed to discuss the cost-effectiveness of the materials. Finally, conclusions are made with the aim of suggesting suitable structural topology for the marine structural member considered in this paper.

구면투영법을 이용한 수중표적의 근거리장 소나단면적 해석 (Near-field Sonar Cross Section Analysis of Underwater Target Using Spherical Projection Method)

  • In this paper, a new numerical method is proposed to analyze near-field sonar cross section of acoustically large-sized underwater targets such as submarines. A near-field problem is converted to a far-field problem using a spherical projection method with respect to the objective target. Then, sonar cross section is calculated with a physical optics well established in far-field acoustic wave scattering problems. The analysis results of a square flat plate compared with those obtained by other method show the accuracy of the proposed method. Moreover, it is noted that the sonar cross section is varied with respect to the targeting point as well as the range. Finally, numerical analysis results of real-like underwater target such as a submarine pressure hull are discussed.

그루브 채널에서 왕복 유동에 의한 열확산 촉진에 관한 연구 (Longitudinal Thermal Dispersion Enhancement by Oscillating Flow in a Grooved Channel)

  • The characteristics of longitudinal dispersion enhancement by the flow oscillation are numerically studied according to various groove geometries in a 2-D channel in the present study. The length of expanded section l$_{1}$/h$_{1}$ is varied from 0 to 8.75. The oscillating flow condition is given at both side ends, i.e., u = Asin ($2{\pi}ft$) The non-dimensional temperatures at both side ends are set to zero. The bottom and top walls are adiabatic. The local heat sources are located at the middle of the groove wall. In order to solve the governing equations, the SIMPIER algorithm is employed. The present results indicate that maximum longitudinal thermal dispersion can be achieved when the area ratio of the expanded section to the contracted section in the grooved channel becomes 1.

배골형단면(背骨型斷面) 주상체(柱狀體)의 좌우동요(左右動搖)에 있어서의 동유체역학적(動流體力學的) 힘에 관하여 (Hydrodynamic Forces produced by the Swaying Oscillation of Cylinders with Chine Sections on the Free Surface.)

  • Hydrodynamic forces and moments produced by the swaying oscillation on the free surface were exactly calculated by Ursell-Tasai method for the cylinders with Kim's chine form sections and the sway responses of the cylinders of those chine form sections among the regular beam sea were also calculated. The results of the computation were compared with those of Lewis form sections. It is concluded that the effects of the section form on the added mass, and damping are small, if the section forms had same beam-draft ratio and sectional area coefficient in the case of sway motion. It is also known that the above little effects of section shapes on the basic hydrodynamic forces do not effect on the sway motion responses of cylinderical bodies among the regular beam sea. The sway motion responses of cylinderical bodies are varied linearly with the wave numbers.

Effect of beam slope on the static aerodynamic response of edge-girder bridge-deck

  • 2-edge box girder bridges have been widely used in civil engineering practice. However, these bridges show weakness in aerodynamic stability. To overcome this weakness, additional attachments, such as fairing and flap, are usually used. These additional attachments can increase the cost and decrease the constructability. Some previous researchers suggested an aerodynamically stabilized 2-edge box girder section, giving a slope to the edge box instead of installing additional attachments. However, their studies are limited to only dynamic stability, even though static aerodynamic coefficients are as important as dynamic stability. In this study, focus was given to the evaluation of static aerodynamic response for a stabilized 2-edge box girder section. For this, the slopes of the edge box were varied from $0^{\circ}$ to $17^{\circ}$ and static coefficients were obtained through a series of wind tunnel tests. The results were then compared with those from computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis. From the results, it was found that the drag coefficients generally decreased with the increasing box slope angle, except for the specific box slope range. This range of box slope varied depending on the B/H ratio, and this should be avoided for the practical design of such a bridge, since it results in poor static aerodynamic response.

A Study of Non-Working Days Estimation in the High-rise Construction with Wind Load Data by Radiosonde

  • This study is based on the data of velocity actually measured at varied the heights in the last 3 years. As mentioned in the World Meteorological Monitoring Plan(World Weather Watch: WWW), using the meteorological data by radiosonde can calculate the probability of velocity greater than 10m/s which is the standard beginning point of non-working condition by wind. The height is divided into sections, with 100m for each section starting from the ocean surface up to 700m high. The data measured at each section could be used for estimating and predicting the probability of non-working days for the construction nearby. For example, the data of Osan region is expected to be applicable for the project located in Seoul which has similar geographical conditions. As comparing the velocity varied with height, non-working days calculated basing on the measured data shows a variation of from -0.3 to +64 days. However, this study use Weibull distribution which considered more reliable, the result is expected to be more useful, as the data was all actually measured in the real conditions.

  • 본 연구는 희박 예혼합 연소기에서 연소실과 연료-공기 혼합부의 공진모드의 관계가 연소불안정에 어떤 영향을 미치고 있는지에 대하여 실험적으로 확인한 연구이다. 다체널 동압측정을 통하여 각각 위치에서 동압의 모드와 각 센서들간의 phase를 분석하여 연소불안정의 원인을 규명할 수 있었다. 연소실의 길이와 혼합부의 길이를 음향학적 경계로 일치시켜 연소불안정 특성을 확인해 보았을 때 두가지 서로 다른 연소불안정 모드를 확인할 수 있었는데 저주파 연소불안정 특성은 화염의 열방출 섭동과 연소실의 공진모드에 기인하며, 고주파 영역대의 연소불안정 현상은 혼합부의 길이를 변경하였을 때 발생하는 또 다른 불안정 현상임을 실험적으로 확인할 수 있었다.

  • This paper concerns the crashworthiness of the widely used vehicle structure, the spot welded hat and double hat shaped section members, which are excellent on the point of the energy absorbing capacity and low production cost. The target of this paper is to analyze the energy absorption capacity of the structure against the front-end collision, and to obtain useful information for designing stage. Changing the spot weld pitches on the flanges, the hat and double hat shaped section members were tested on the axial collapse loads in impact velocities of 4.72m/sec, 6.54m/sec, 7.19m/sec and 7.27m/sec. To efficiently review the collapse characteristics of these sections, the simulation have been carried out using explicit FEM package, LS-DYNA3D. The solutions are compared with results from the impact collapse experiments.

컴퓨터 시뮬레이션에 의한 SPS의 몰드크기에 따른 SiC-ZrB2 복합체의 소결특성 연구 (A Study on Sintering Properties of a SiC-ZrB2 Composite According to Mold Size of SPS Through Computer Simulation)

  • The computer simulation was performed to confirm distribution of current and power density according to inner diameter of graphite mold of SPS(Spark Plasma Sintering). When the inner diameters of a graphite mold are varied $10mm{\Phi}$, $20mm{\Phi}$, $30mm{\Phi}$ and $40mm{\Phi}$, the more the inner diameter of graphite mold is decreased, the more the current density of punch section is increased. Because the electrical resistivity of the SiC-$ZrB_2$ specimen section($7.77{\times}10^{-4}{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$) was lower than the electrical resistivity($6.00{\times}10^{-3}{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$) of graphite section, the current density and power density of specimen section was higher than those of graphite section. It is considered that a SiC-$ZrB_2$ composite is sintered by more Joule heat of specimen section than that of mold and punch section. The current and power density distribution of a SiC-$ZrB_2$ composite can be predicted through computer simulation when SPS is conducted, and an electrical resistivity of the SiC-$ZrB_2$ composite is main element of SPS.
