In this paper we suggest a general purpose RNN training algorithm which is derived on the optimal control concepts and variational methods. First, learning is regared as an optimal control problem, then using the variational methods we obtain optimal weights which are given by a two-point boundary-value problem. Finally, the modified gradient descent algorithm is applied to RNN for on-line training. This algorithm is intended to be used on learning complex dynamic mappings between time varing I/O data. It is useful for nonlinear control, identification, and signal processing application of RNN because its storage requirement is not high and on-line learning is possible. Simulation results for a nonlinear plant identification are illustrated.
In this paper, a brief overview on data assimilation is provided in the context of oceanographic application. The ocean data assimilation needs to ingest various types of data such as satellites and floats, thus essentially requires dynamically-consistent assimilation methods. For such purpose, sequential and variational approaches are discussed and compared. The major advantage of the Kalman filter (KF) is that it can forecast error covariances at each time step. However, for models with very large dimension of state vector, the KF Is exceedingly expensive and computationally less efficient than four-dimensional variational assimilation (4D-Var). For operational application, simplified 4D-Var schemes as well as ensemble KF may be considered.
Variational method has played an important role in solving problems of uniqueness and existence of the nonlinear works as well as analysis. It will also be extremely useful for researchers in all branches of natural sciences and engineers working with non-linear equations economy, optimization, game theory and medicine. Recently, the existence of infinitely many weak solutions for some non-local problems of Kirchhoff type with Dirichlet boundary condition are studied [14]. Here, a suitable method is presented to treat the elliptic partial derivative equations, especially (p(x), q(x))-Laplacian-like systems. This kind of equations are used in the study of fluid flow, diffusive transport akin to diffusion, rheology, probability, electrical networks, etc. Here, the existence of infinitely many weak solutions for some boundary value problems involving the (p(x), q(x))-Laplacian-like operators is proved. The method is based on variational methods and critical point theory.

In this paper, we study an iterative algorithm that is based on inertial proximal and contraction methods embellished with relaxation technique, for finding common solution of monotone variational inclusion, and fixed point problems of pseudocontractive mapping in real Hilbert spaces. We establish a strong convergence result of the proposed iterative method based on prediction stepsize conditions, and under some standard assumptions on the algorithm parameters. Finally, some special cases of general problem are given as applications. Our results improve and generalized some well-known and related results in literature.

For effective part modifications which is necessary in the design process frequently, variational geometric modeling with constraint management being used in a wide. Most variational geometric modeling methods, however, manage just the constraints about sketch elements used for generation of primitives. Thus, not only constraint propagation but also re-build of various modeling operations stored in the modeling history is necessary iota part geometry modifications. Especially, re-build of high-cost Boolean operations is apt to deteriorate overall modeling efficiency abruptly. Therefore, in this paper we proposed an algorithm that can handle all geometric entities of the part directly. For this purpose, we introduced eight type geometric constraints to the various geometric calculations about all geometric entities in sweepings and Boolean operations as well as the existing constraints of the sketch elements. The algorithm has a merit of rapid part geometric modifications through only constraint propagation without rebuild of modeling operations which are necessary in the existing variational geometric modeling method.
In this paper, we have applied a new class of approximate analytical methods called Variational Approach (VA) for high nonlinear vibration equations. Three examples have been introduced and discussed. The effects of important parameters on the response of the problems have been considered. Runge-Kutta's algorithm has been used to prepare numerical solutions. The results of variational approach are compared with energy balance method and numerical and exact solutions. It has been established that the method is an easy mathematical tool for solving conservative nonlinear problems. The method doesn't need small perturbation and with only one iteration achieve us to a high accurate solution.
To solve the problem of poor noise suppression capability and frequent loss of edge contour and detailed information in current fusion methods, an infrared and visible light image fusion method based on variational multiscale decomposition is proposed. Firstly, the fused images are separately processed through variational multiscale decomposition to obtain texture components and structural components. The method of guided filter is used to carry out the fusion of the texture components of the fused image. In the structural component fusion, a method is proposed to measure the fused weights with phase consistency, sharpness, and brightness comprehensive information. Finally, the texture components of the two images are fused. The structure components are added to obtain the final fused image. The experimental results show that the proposed method displays very good noise robustness, and it also helps realize better fusion quality.
This paper proposes a novel cooperative localization method for distributed wireless networks in 3-dimensional (3D) global positioning system (GPS) denied environments. The proposed method, which is referred to as hybrid ellipsoidal variational algorithm (HEVA), combines the use of non-parametric belief propagation (NBP) and variational Bayes (VB) to benefit from both the use of the rich information in NBP and compact communication size of a parametric form. InHEVA, two novel filters are also employed. The first one mitigates non-line-of-sight (NLoS) time-of-arrival (ToA) messages, permitting it to work well in high noise environments with NLoS bias while the second one decreases the number of calculations. Simulation results illustrate that HEVA significantly outperforms traditional NBP methods in localization while requires only 50% of their complexity. The superiority of VB over other clustering techniques is also shown.
In this paper, we introduce new hybrid inertial contraction projection algorithms for solving variational inequality problems over the intersection of the fixed point sets of demicontractive mappings in a real Hilbert space. The proposed algorithms are based on the hybrid steepest-descent method for variational inequality problems and the inertial techniques for finding fixed points of nonexpansive mappings. Strong convergence of the iterative algorithms is proved. Several fundamental experiments are provided to illustrate computational efficiency of the given algorithm and comparison with other known algorithms
