Experimental study on the transfer in pulse tube (맥동관 내부의 열전달에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • The present study has been conducted to observe the heat transfer under pulsating pressure and oscillating flow. The experimental apparatus was fabricated to measure the gas temperature, the wall temperature. the pressure and the instantaneous heat flux inside the pulse tube. The measured gas temperature and heat flux must be calibarated to compensate their finite time constant in the oscillating flow conditious. The experiment was performed from 1 Hz to 5 Hz. The phase difference between the instantaneous heat flux and the gas-wall temperature difference was clearly observed. The experimental heat fluxes were compared to the theroretical correlations such as Complex Nusselt Number Model(CNNM) and Variable Coefficient Model(CVM). The heat flux predisted by CNNM was always greater than that of VCM. The experiment confirmed the valisity of the VCM for the instantaneous heat flux under the pulsating pressure and oscillating flow in the warm end of the pulse tube.

  • Since axial flux motor has an advantage over more conventional radial flux type motor such as high power density, it can be used as a power train for hybrid electric vehicle and electric vehicle. Also operating range can be extended and efficiency can be improved by changing air gap. Optimal operating air gap is estimated based on the measured efficiency at different air gap. Motor model is developed based on estimated optimal air gap and efficiency. Motor/controller performance is analyzed through simulation. Possible application area of axial flux motor was explored through simulation.

  • The rotor speed and flux information is most important in the vector control. The accuracy of flux observers for induction machine inherently depends on parameter sensitivity. The control strategy is using online flux observer for flux estimation. In the proposed system, the speed control characteristics using a online flux observer control isn't affected by a load torque parameter disturbance. Simulation results are presented to prove the effectiveness of the adaptive sliding mode controller for the drive variable load of induction motor.

  • This study was to control magnetic field orientation-typed sensorless vector control by applying the theory of a rotor flux observer to drive an induction motor. This research suggested a new speed estimation method that estimates speed with the rotor flux obtained by using a flux observer and the variable of state current detected by a current sensor without a speed sensor. Because the speed estimation method is independent from the motor constants, it is not necessary to control the gain of the parameters and the algorithm is simple. In the findings of the study, the researcher was convinced of the control function and the possibility of realization in the simulation experiment of sensorless vector control system by using DSP(Digital Signal Prosessor).

  • This paper investigates an improved stator flux linkage observer for sensorless permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) drives using a voltage-based flux linkage model and an adaptive sliding mode variable structure. We propose a new observer design that employs an improved sliding mode reaching law to achieve better estimation accuracy. The design includes two models and two adaptive estimating laws, and we illustrate that the design is stable using the Popov hyper-stability theory. Simulation and experimental results demonstrate that the proposed estimator accurately calculates the speed, the stator flux linkage, and the resistance while overcoming the shortcomings of traditional estimators.

  • A direct torque control(DTC) based sensorless speed control system which employs a new closed loop flux observer is proposed. The flux observer is an adaptive gain scheduling observer where motor speed is used as the scheduling variable. Adaptive nature comes from the fact that the estimates of stator resistance and speed are included as observer parameters. Simulation results show that the proposed flux observer gives better control and estimation results than conventional flux estimator specially in low speed region.

  • An actuator using a permanent magnet and solenoid is proposed and designed in this paper. Its design concept is composed of a driving force generation, a guide mechanism, and a symmetric structure. At first, Driving Force generation uses a concept that is a change efflux by using a permanent magnet and solenoid. A permanent flux is generated by a permanent magnet. Changeable flux is created by a variable current flowing through coil such the solenoid. The direction of this flux is changed due to current flowing through coils. The combination of permanent and changeable fluxes make various flux densities between yokes of moving part and fixed yokes.   • Accurate understanding of land surface is essential to analyze energy exchanges between earth surface and atmosphere. For the quantization of energy fluxes, the various researches about Land Surface Model(LSM) have been progressed. Among the various LSMs, the researches using Common Land Model(CLM) and Variable Infiltration Capacity(VIC) model are performed briskly. The CLM which is advanced LSM can calculate realistic results with few user defined parameters. The VIC model which is also typical LSM is widely used for estimation of energy fluxes and runoff in various fields. In this study, the energy fluxes which are net radiation, sensible heat flux, and latent heat flux were estimated using CLM and VIC model at Southern Sierra-Critical Zone Observatory(SS-CZO) site in California, United States. In case of net radiation and sensible heat flux, both models showed good agreement with observations, however, the CLM showed underestimated patterns of net radiation and sensible heat flux during precipitation period. In case of latent heat flux, the CLM represented better estimation of latent heat flux than VIC model which underestimated the latent heat flux. Through the estimation of energy fluxes and analysis of models' pros and cons, the applicability of CLM and VIC models and need of multi-model application were identified.

  • In this paper, we introduce fully discrete mixed discontinuous Galerkin approximations for parabolic problems. And we analyze the error estimates in $l^{\infty}(L^2)$ norm for the primary variable and the error estimates in the energy norm for the primary variable and the flux variable.

  • A precision hi-directional actuator for a high precision leveling system with $Z{\Theta}_x{\Theta}_y$ motions is proposed and designed in this paper. The actuator is composed of a force generation structure, a guide mechanism, and a symmetric structure. At first, its driving force is generated by a change of flux in air gaps by permanent and changeable flux. The permanent flux is generated by a permanent magnet. The changeable flux is created by variable current flowing through coil. The combination of permanent and changeable flux makes various flux densities in air gaps between moving part and fixed yokes. And then, the difference between flux densities in lower and upper gaps creates forces fur the $bi-direction({\pm}z)$ motion. The guide mechanism of this actuator is composed of two circular plates and one shaft. Reducing motions generated by forces except z-motion, these circular plates endow the actuator with high stiffness for fast settling time. And the function of the shaft is to transfer motion to an object. At last, total body has a symmetric structure to be stable on thermal error. The actuator is designed by MAXWELL 2D and ProMECHANICA. The designed actuator is evaluated by 8nm laser doppler vibrometer, dynamic signal analyzer, and simple PID controller.
