밸브 디스크 차단비 변화가 버터플라이밸브의 손실계수에 미치는 영향에 관한 실험적 연구 (Effects of the Blockage Ratio of a Valve Disk on Loss Coefficient in a Butterfly Valve)

  • The loss coefficient of the butterfly valve which allows partial opening of the valve at closed position and is applicable to the small-sized pipe system with the diameter of 1 inch was measured for the variation of the valve disk blockage ratio. Two different types of the valve disk configuration to adjust the blockage ratio were considered. One was the solid type valve disk of which the diameter was changed into the smaller size rather than the pipe diameter, and the other was the perforate type valve disk on which some holes were perforated. The results from two types of valve disk were compared to identify their characteristics in the loss coefficient distributions. The loss coefficient and the controllable angle of the valve disk were decreased exponentially with the decrease of the blockage ratio. In addition, the perforate valve disk had the effect on the higher loss coefficient rather than the solid type valve disk.

  • When a fuel was injected with opening the intake valve of a port fuel injection engine, the spray atomization and flow characteristics in the intake port have a strong influence on the mixture formation of a combustion chamber. Thus , this study was to clarify the spray flow characteristics of the air-assist gasoline spray with fine dropkets across the suction air stream in model intake port. For the simulated opening intake valve in port, suction air stream was varied to 10m/s ∼30m/s. And fuel pressur ewas fixed to 300kPa, but air assist pressure was varied to 0∼25kPa for a vairable spray conditions. Spray flow trajectory was investigated by means of laser sheet visualization and the measurements of droplet sizes and velocities were made by PDPA system. Measured droplets within the spray flow field were subdivided into five size groups and then, the flow characteristics of droplet size groups were investigated to the spray across a suction air stream.

광폭면 분무를 위한 2유체 노즐의 분무 특성에 관한 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Spray Characteristics by Twin-Fluid Atomizer for Wide Band Spray)

  • To develop the twin-fluid atomizer having the excellent performance of painting, the spray characteristics of how a wide area can be painted efficiently by one time spraying were studied in this paper. Spray phenomena are affected by the many factors determining the spray field such as the spraying pressure of gas, the spraying pressure and viscosity of liquid paints, the opening duration of needle valve, the design dimension of nozzle, and so on. As the results of experiments, these factors affecting on spray characteristics were suggested as followings; 1) The optimum spraying pressure of gas was $0.015{\sim}0.02\;kPa$, and the appropriate spraying pressure of liquid paint was 0.01kPa, In these situations, the setting up pressures must be compensated as much as the losing amount of pressure because a decompression occurred when operating valves. 2) The duration of opening the needle valve must be sustained for $1{\sim}2$ seconds to inject gas after spraying the liquid paint. This operating of the needle valve was necessary to avoid the affect on the changing of liquid column length, and to prevent the droplet deposit at the initial time of spraying. 3) The spray tip penetration was gained form the experimental equation, and the effective spraying angle was $85^{\circ}{\pm}5^{\circ}$ just at he appropriate spraying pressure of gas. The distribution of the area sprayed had the variation in $350{\pm}50\;mm$ because of the spraying pressure of gas, the its distance from the spray tip, and the lift of the needle valve.

추진제탱크 가압용 솔레노이드밸브의 작동특성 분석 및 해석 (Analysis of Dynamic Characteristics and Performance of Solenoid Valve for Pressurization Propellant Tank)

  • 우주발사체 추진기관 공급계에서 2-way 솔레노이드밸브는 제어시스템의 명령에 의해 추진제 탱크를 가압하여 탱크내의 압력을 조절한다. 가압용 솔레노이드밸브의 제작에 앞서 설계검증 및 기본적인 작동특성을 분석하기 위해 AMESim상용코드를 이용하여 해석모델을 수립하였다. 입구압력에 따른 작동시간을 시험결과와 비교하여 모델을 검증하였다. 솔레노이드밸브 모델을 이용하여 설계변수인 컨트롤 밸브의 시트 직경, 주 밸브의 시트 직경, 실링 직경 비에 대해 밸브의 동특성 해석을 수행하였다. 해석을 통해 밸브의 개폐작동시간, 작동성능, 개폐압력을 예상하였다. 본 연구 결과는 한국형 발사체 공급계 가압용 솔레노이드밸브의 설계/해석능력을 확보하고 밸브의 개발과정에서 효율성을 높일 수 있으며 파생형 밸브의 설계 및 선행연구에 적용할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

  • Exhaust system by reinforcement of environment regulation came to the foe study necessity. And Exhaust system has necessary to increase the engine performance and silence. From this cause, Automobile has significantly considered production expense. this study makes process for checking the characteristics about Exhaust variable valve within muffler. Variable valve might reduce the baffle within muffler, It was possible to remove the front muffler. Therefor, To miniaturize a size of muffler might be increased by performance through cost-cutting effect and controling of back pressure. Because the Study on Variable valve installed within muffler, to measure the real data was hardly resulted one of the assignments. From manufactured conduct device, might measure data one of piece which was up-graded of problem. Considering to these point, stressed pressure distribution has analyzed on cross section, floating characteristics about velocity distribution around variable valve using analysis as computational fluid dynamics of Ansys with completed measurement data.

Steady-Flow Characteristics and Its Influence on Spray for Direct Injection Diesel Engine

  • Flow and spray characteristics are critical factors that affect the performance and exhaust emissions of a direct injection diesel engine. It is well known that the swirl control system is one of the useful ways to improve the fuel consumption and emission reduction rate in a diesel engine. However, until now there have only been a few studies on the effect of flow on spray. Because of this, the relationship between the flow pattern in the cylinder and its influence on the behavior of the spray is in need of investigation. First, in-cylinder flow distributions for 4-valve cylinder head of DI (Direct Injection) Diesel engine were investigated under steady-state conditions for different SCV (Swirl Control Valve) opening angles using a steady flow rig and 2-D LDV (Laser Doppler Velocimetry). It was found that swirl flow was more dominant than that of tumble in the experimented engine. In addition, the in-cylinder flow was quantified in terms of swirl/tumble ratio and mean flow coefficient. As the SCV opening angle was increased, high swirl ratios more than 3.0 were obtained in the case of SCV -70° and 90°. Second, spray characteristics of the intermittent injection were investigated by a PDA (Phase Doppler Anemometer) system. A Time Dividing Method (TDM) was used to analyze the microscopic spray characteristics. It was found that the atomization characteristics such as velocity and SMD (Sauter Mean Diameter) of the spray were affected by the in-cylinder swirl ratio. As a result, it was concluded that the swirl ratio improves atomization characteristics uniformly.

  • The present study is to investigate the pressure wave characteristics and the absorption of the maximum and minimum pressure generated by instantaneous valve closure and opening at the end of the straightening copper Piping system with and without an air chamber. Also, life of air chamber is investigated. Experiments were conducted under the following conditions: initial pressure of 1~5 bar, flow velocity of 0.5~3.0 m/s, water temperature of$20^{\circ}C$ and air chamber volume of 45.1~449.5$cm^3$ The results of the study can be used in sizing air chamber and selecting the water hammer absorbtion apparatus.

  • 충진농도, 냉매 팽창밸브 개도, 그리고 약용액의 유량 변화에 따른 벤치타입 암모니아-물 흡수식 열교환 사이클에 대한 실험을 수행한 결과 시스템의 충진농도가 증가할수록 냉방능력이 증가하였으며, 최적의 충진농도가 존재함을 알았다. 그리고 냉매 팽창 밸브의 개도는 응축기 출구의 직접적인 영향을 주고 있으며 최적의 과냉도가 0~4$^{\circ}C$임을 알았다. 또한 약용액의 유량이 증가시킬수록 증발압력과 강용액의 농도가 즐어들었으며, 냉방능력과 COP가 최대가 되는 최적의 약용액 유량이 존재하였다.

특성함수를 이용한 펌프 제어 밸브의 편심축 결정 (Determination of Eccentric Axis for Pump Control Valve Using the Characteristic Function)

  • The pump control valve is a butterfly valve that has an eccentric rotating axis. It is not only used as a butterfly valve to control the flow rate or pressure, but also as a check valve to prevent backward flow. A new design method of eccentric rotating axis is proposed to design the valve. The height of the rotating axis is determined through flow field analysis. A general purpose of computational fluid dynamics software system, Fluent is used to simulate the fluid flow. Flow field analysis is performed for various heights of the rotating axis and different opening angles of the valve. A characteristic function is defined for estimating the flow characteristics based on the results of flow field analysis. The characteristic function is defined in order to determine the height of the rotating axis. An optimization problem with a characteristic function is formulated to determine the amount of eccentricity. The height of the Totaling axis of the valve is determined through solving the optimization problem.

  • An object of this study is to confirm the opening amount of the throttle valve that is begun the temperature separation of vortex tube for various engine speed and load condition in a common rail diesel engine. The vortex tube located at downstream of the exhaust manifold is a device separating the incoming exhaust gas to hot and cold stream. To find optimum separation efficiency of vortex tube, the opening amount of throttle valve has been investigated for various engine speed and load conditions. Engine speed was found that the influence of engine speed was dominant compared with that of engine load. As engine speed was increased, the throttle opening amount starting temperature separation was reduced.
