The purpose of this study is to clarify the effect of mountain-valley wind on heat island formed in urban area which is located around valley mouth. The meteorological observations were carried out over the Dalbi-valley under a clear summer pressure patterns, and some consideration were tried from the results. In order to make clear the climatological characteristics and air-mass modification process of the mountain-valley wind over the valley, the meteorological observations were done simultaneously at two points. The observational points were located at the breast and valley mouth parts, respectively. The results were as follows: First, it was found that the valley wind was observed through the daytime, and it was replaced by a mountain wind after sunset. Second, the heat budget is also investigated with observation data. The sensible heat flux over the breast of Dalbi-valley reached to about $200 W/m^2$ during daytime, which is a little more than one third of net radiation. On the other hand, the sensible heat flux represented negative values during nighttime. But the sensible heat flux over the valley mouth covered by asphalt showed plus value(about $20{\sim}30 W/m^2$) during the nighttime.

This study was conducted to understand the habitat characteristics of Psilotum nudum of Dosuncheon river and Anduck valley in Jeju Island. The total of 79 vascular plants taxa including 39 families, 58 genera, 75 species and 4 varieties were investigated in Dosuncheon river, while 59 vascular plants taxa consisting of 34 families, 50 genera, 53 species and 6 varieties were investigated in Anduck valley. When it comes to the life form, the rates of distribution of annual plants (therophytes) at the mouth of Dosuncheon river and Anduck valley were lower than those of the Korean peninsula and Jeju Island. However, the rates of distribution of chamaephytes and epiphytes were higher at the mouth of Dosuncheon river and Anduck valley. As for vegetation, epiphytes (such as Trachelospermum asiaticum var. intermedium, Trachelospermum asiaticum var. majus and Lemmaphyllum microphyllum) and adiantum plants (including Psilotum nudum, Cytomium fortunei and Rumohra aristata), which are typically easy to be dispersed in rocky zones, dominated these areas since they are vertical or horizontal joints containing wide rocky zones. The main threats to the habitats of Psilotum nudum are environmental pollution, lack of publicity, installation of various facilities such as recreational facilities, gathering for medical and horticulture purposes, vegetation succession and application of waterfront. The management of the rocky zones as habitats for Psilotum nudum is an important factor in their expansion.
The purpose of this study is to clarify the characteristic of urban heat island intensity in urban area formed at a basin. Thermal environments for basin-type cities are influenced by significant topographic relief winds. In this study, we analyzed the diurnal variations of the heat island intensity according to meteorological condition and season using AWS(Automatic Weather observation System) data in Daegu Metropolitan area for 1 year(3/April, 2003 $\sim$ 2/April, 2004). In this study, we defined the urban heat island intensity as the air temperature difference between two points, the downtown and the suburban area. The suburban area is located at valley mouth around the western tip of Daegu. The results are summarized as follows; 1. The maximum heat island intensity was recorded at early morning under the meteorological conditions, calm and clear 2. The heat island intensity was strong in the order of winter, fall, spring and summer. 3. The heat island intensity came out minus values in the afternoon. This phenomenon is known as a com mon for basin-type cities. 4. The heat island intensity was twice or more in clear and calm than not so.

The purpose of this paper is to elucidate the formation process of the Second Mujechi Moor at Mt. Jeongjok. For doing so, 1 analysed the formation process of valley which moor is located in, and the formation process of block field damming the valley: First, it is not a valley but a hollow which the Second Mujechi Moor located in. Hollow was formed as weathering bedrock weathered deeply along joints under warm and wet climatic conditions was denudated by rain wash. Second, the Second Mujechi Moor had been a marginal lake. Block stream developed during the last glacial period of Pleistocene, and it dammed the mouth of hollow. Afterwards sediments transported from slope filled the marginal lake, thus the lake changed to the moor where aquatic plants could grown. Third, the Second Mujechi Moor is drained and dried out by removal of matrix material from the block stream dam of the mouth of moor. For keeping moor's present conditions, we must control moor's drainage by filling open space in block stream with fine material.
As virtual space activities become more common, human-virtual agents such as avatars are more frequently used instead of people, but the uncanny valley effect, in which people feel uncomfortable when they see artifacts that look similar to humans, is an obstacle. In this study, we explored the uncanny valley effect for celebrity avatars. We manipulated the degree of atypicality by adjusting the eye size in photos of celebrities, ordinary people, and their avatars and measured the intensity of the uncanny valley effect. As a result, the uncanny valley effect for celebrities and celebrity avatars appeared to be stronger than the effect for ordinary people. This result is consistent with previous findings that more robust facial representations are formed for familiar faces, making it easier to detect facial changes. However, with real faces of celebrities and ordinary people, as in previous studies, the higher the degree of atypicality, the greater the uncanny valley effect, but this result was not found for the avatar stimulus. This high degree of tolerance for atypicality in avatars seems to be caused by cartoon characters' tendency to have exaggerated facial features such as eyes, nose, and mouth. These results suggest that efforts to reduce the uncanny valley in the virtual space service using celebrity avatars are necessary.
We proposed a method for locating of mouth using deformable templates, described by a parameterized template. An energy function is defined which links, edges, peaks, valleys in image intensity to corresponding properties of the template. The template deforms itself by altering its parameter values to minimize the energy function. The minimized energy function's parameter values can be used as descriptors for the feature. We propose a method for locating mouth fast, accurately by limiting a range of parameters' value and getting initial value of parameters' by preprocessing.
Purpose: This study investigated the impact of key factors such as service quality, perceived benefit and brand familiarity on a consumer's intention to order online food delivery (OFD). In addition, mediating effect of electronic word of mouth (e-WOM) between relationships among selected key variables and OFD purchase intention is also assessed. Research design, data and methodology: This explanatory, quantitative study employed convenience sampling and collected data through online structured questionnaire from 304 respondents who are users of OFD apps based in greater Klang valley region of Malaysia. The data was then subjected to normality and reliability assessment followed by confirmatory factor analysis, validity assessment and structural equation modelling using IBM SPSS AMOS 24.0. Results: Findings revealed that service quality, perceived benefits and brand familiarity affects purchase intention positively and significantly. Perceived benefits demonstrated highest impact on purchase intention followed by brand familiarity and service quality. Findings also suggest that e-WOM fully mediates relationship between brand familiarity and purchase intention, however, the same was not observed for remaining two variables. Conclusions: The study has enriched OFD literature by investigating impact of selected key factors on purchase intention in the context of OFD. Implications, limitations and future research avenues are then discussed.

Facial analysis is used in many applications like face recognition systems, human-computer interface through head movements or facial expressions, model based coding, or virtual reality. In all these applications a very precise extraction of facial feature points are necessary. In this paper we presents a method for automatic extraction of the facial features Points such as mouth corners, eye corners, eyebrow corners. First, face region is detected by AdaBoost-based object detection algorithm. Then a combination of three kinds of feature energy for facial features are computed; valley energy, intensity energy and edge energy. After feature area are detected by searching horizontal rectangles which has high feature energy. Finally, a corner detection algorithm is applied on the end region of each feature area. Because we integrate three feature energy and the suggested estimation method for valley energy and intensity energy are adaptive to the illumination change, the proposed feature extraction method is robust under various conditions.
Senecavirus A (SVA), previously known as Seneca Valley virus, can cause vesicular disease and neonatal losses in pigs that is clinically indistinguishable from foot-and-mouth disease virus (FMDV). After the first case report in Canada in 2007, it had been restrictively identified in North America including United States. But, since 2015, SVA emerged outside North America in Brazil, and also in several the Asian countries including China, Thailand, and Vietnam. Considering the SVA occurrence in neighboring countries, there has been a high risk that Korea can be introduced at any time. In particular, it is very important in terms of differential diagnosis in the suspected case of vesicular diseases in countries where FMD is occurring. So far, several different molecular detection methods for SVV have been published but not validated as the reference method, yet. In this study, seven different molecular methods for detecting SVA were evaluated. Among them, the method by Flowler et al, (2017) targeted to 3D gene region with the highest sensitivity and no cross reaction with other vesicular disease agents including FMDV, VSV and SVD, was selected and applied further to antigen surveillance of SVA. A total of 245 samples of 157 pigs from 61 farms submitted for animal disease diagnose nationwide during 2018 were tested all negative. In 2018, no sign of SVA occurrence have been confirmed in Korea, but the results of the surveillance for SVA needs to be continued and accumulated at a high risk of SVA in neighboring countries.

This paper presents an automatic facial feature point extraction algorithm in sequential color images. To extract facial region in the video sequence, a moving color detection technique is proposed that emphasize moving skin color region by applying motion detection algorithm on the skin-color transformed images. The threshold value for the pixel difference detection is also decided according to the transformed pixel value that represents the probability of the desired color information. Eye candidate regions are selected using both of the black/white color information inside the skin-color region and the valley information of the moving skin region detected using morphological operators. Eye region is finally decided by the geometrical relationship of the eyes and color histogram. To decide the exact feature points, the PCA(Principal Component Analysis) is used on each eye and mouth regions. Experimental results show that the feature points of eye and mouth can be obtained correctly irrespective of background, direction and size of face.
