  • ZTO films were annealed in a vaccum atmosphere conditions to research the temperature dependency of current-voltage characteristics. The ZTO film annealed in a vacuum became an amorphous structure but films annealed in an atmosphere condition had a crystal structure. The defects or depletion layer were formed by the electron-hole combination after annealing processes, and the electrical properties were changed depending on the crystal structure, binding energy and the variation of carriers. ZTO became more crystal-structural with increasing the annealing temperature, and the current increased at ZTO film annealed at $150^{\circ}C$ with Schottky contact.

  • Transition metal Cr3+ and Fe3+ ion was diffused in white sapphire {0001}, {1010} crystal plane which were grown by the Verneuil method. It enhanced and changed the physical, electrical and optical properties of sapphires. After mixing the metallic oxide and metal powder, it were used for diffusion. Metallic oxide was synthesized by precipitation method and it's composition was mainly alumina which doped with chromium or ferric oxide. In case using metallic oxide, the dopping was slowly progressed and it needed the longer duration time and higher temperature, relatively. Metallic powder was vapoured under 1x10-4 torr of vacuum pressure at 1900(iron metal) and 2050(chromium)℃, first step. Diffusion condition were kept by 6atm of N2 accelerating pressure at 2050∼2150℃. Each surface density of sapphire crystal are 0.225(c) and 0.1199atom/Å2(a). The color of the Cr-doped sapphires was changed to red. Dopping reaction was come out more deep in th plane of {1010} than {0001}. It was speculated that the planar density was one of the factors to determine diffusion effect.

  • $LaF_{3}$ thin films have been fabricated on Si (100) substrates under the highest possible vacuum condition by pulsed laser deposition (PLD) method. The temperature of the sbustrate varied from $20^{\circ}C$ to $800^{\circ}C$. The films deposited at the higher temperature indicated the sharper peaks in the X-ray diffraction measurement. A highly oriented film was successfully obtained at a substrate temperature of $800^{\circ}C$. The surface observation by the AFM revealed that the many hexagonal structures constructed the film. The XPS analysis revealed that the lacking of F in the film deposited at $600^{\circ}C$ were much more than that in film at $^20{\circ}C$. Adding the adequate amount of $CF_{4}$ gas in the growth chamber can compensate this lacking of F.

  • In this study, we have investigated potential energy of ${\beta}$-D-glucopyranose in vacuum and implicit water condition. By Comparing two conditions we find that how solvation energy influence ${\beta}$-D-glucopyranose structure. We use AMBER package program and GLYCAM_06 force field. Solvation model was used for the generalized Born model with Hawkins, Cramer, Truhlar has been proposed. We conclude that difference of contour map of two conditions is caused by solvation effect by reducing hydrogen bonding interaction.

  • In this study, the characteristics of the experimentally produced high N-high Cr bearing stainless steels are discussed as a part of applications of materials for FGD (Fuel Gas Desulfurization) system of thermal power plants or for power plants using seawater as coolant. Corrosion resistance of developed alloys is especially investigated in detail. Corrosion characteristics of vacuum melted cast are shown to be superior to that of air melted one. From the viewpoint of CPT, It is estimated that the differences of corrosion resistance are $21.8^{\circ}C{\sim}24.6^{\circ}C$ at PRE 40 and $8^{\circ}C{\sim}12.4^{\circ}C$ at PRE 50, and the gaps becomes bigger as the PRE values are lower. In the evaluation of corrosion resistance in alloy A2501, Z3101, and A3301 according to Cr concentration, alloy A3301 shows a deviation from the general tendency in chloride solutions. It has relatively high PRE value as 48.6, but it has relatively poor pitting resistance. It is, however, difficult to observe a specific phase except ferrite in microstructure analysis and neither detects special phase such as sigma phase.

  • Currently, the most important purpose in designing automobile is environment-friendly and safety performance aspect. CFRP(Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastics) of the advanced composite materials as structure materials for vehicles, has a wide application in lightweight structural materials of air planes, ships and automobiles because of high strength and stiffness. In this study, experimental investigations are carried out for CFRP single and double hat shaped section member in order to study the effect of various stacking condition. They were cured by heating to the appropriate curing temperature($130^{\circ}C$) by means of a heater at the vacuum bag of the autoclave. The stacking conditions were selected to investigate the effect of the interface numbers. The CFRP single and double hat shaped section members which manufactured from unidirectional prepreg sheets were made of 8ply. The static collapse tests performed and the collapse mode and energy absorption capability were analyzed according to interface number.

  • Two SiC radiation detector samples were irradiated by Co-60 gamma rays. The irradiation was performed with dose rates of 5 kGy/hour and 15 kGy/hour for 8 hours, respectively. Metal/semiconductor contacts on the surface were fabricated by using a thermal evaporator in a high vacuum condition. The SiC detectors have metal contacts of Au(2000 ${\AA}$)/Ni(300 ${\AA}$) at Si-face and of Au(2000 ${\AA}$)/Ti(300 ${\AA}$) at C-face. I-V characteristics of the SiC semiconductor were measured by using the Keithley 4200-SCS parameter analyzer with voltage sources included. From the I-V curve, we analyzed the Schottky barrier heights(SBHs) on the basis of the thermionic emission theory. As a result, the 6H-SiC semiconductor showed- similar Schottky barrier heights independent to the dose rates of the irradiation with Co-60 gamma rays.

  • High-resolution microscopy was applied for surveying hydride stability in Vanadium alloys, which are candidate for hydrogen storage materials of advanced hydrogen energy systems. $V_2H$ hydride in V alloys was stable at room temperature under the vacuum condition, but it was decomposed during heating up to $100^{\circ}C$. It was confirmed from HRTEM image and FFT that $V_2H$ has a BCT structure, where hydrogen atoms locate at octahedral sites. Crystal orientation was <110> beta// <110> mat., and lattice strain is about 10%. After the decomposition of the hydride, relatively large lattice expansion was observed in the matrix, which suggests that hydrogen atoms should be trapped by lattice defects and included in the matrix. Intensive electron beam also enhanced the decomposition.

  • The roll forming produces mass products using the continuous production process. Also we need the process that continuous long material or goods cutting into a desired length. Our study uses 3-D driving cutter and roll forming material as SPCC to investigate this. When we cut the material using the process of roll forming, the shear resistance is raised at the cutting punch's edge. The result is remained the trouble about burr and progressive deformation on the material. This study shows the method minimizing the above trouble. The material of punch was considering heat generated on the continuous production process. So we used the type of STD 61 for the material of punch and had the vacuum heat treatment for the surface hardness of HRC 53. The structure of the mold is designed with forming a double cam die at the upper punch and the both sides of central core. We conducted the experiment three times. In the result when had to make V-groove within the angle between 105 and 110 on the punch front end, we could get the minimum shear resistance on the punch front end. Also with the same condition we minimizes the material jams in the continuous production process.

  • A Study on the recovery of the valuable metals(Vanadium Molybdenium) was carried out using spent catalysts originated from desulfurizing process of oil refinery. Experiments consisted of pre-roasting for Sulfur and Carbon removal, soda roasting and leaching for the extraction of valuable metals, and selective precipitation of Vanadium and Molybdenium. Effects of temperature and time in roasting for Sulfur removal, of $Na_2CO_3$ concentrations in soda roasting, and of pulp density, temperature and time in leaching were investigated for the recovery of Vanadium and Molybdenium. A optimum condition having over 85% in yield of Vanadium and Molybdenium was found. In the selective precipitation, more than 98% of Vanadium and Molybdenium were obtained by the variation of pH and concentration of additives.
