  • In this paper, we identify the memory effects of the RF high-power base station amplifiers with Vector Signal Analyzer (VSA). It is found that the model of power- amplifier using Tapped Delayed Neural - Networks with back-propagation algorithm shows very accurate modeling performance. Based on this behavioral modeling, we conducted inverse compensation process which also uses Neural Networks.

Functional Connections of the Vestibulo-spino-adrenal Axis in the Control of Blood Pressure Via the Vestibulosympathetic Reflex in Conscious Rats

  • Significant evidence supports the role of the vestibular system in the regulation of blood pressure during postural movements. In the present study, the role of the vestibulo-spino-adrenal (VSA) axis in the modulation of blood pressure via the vestibulosympathetic reflex was clarified by immunohistochemical and enzyme immunoassay methods in conscious rats with sinoaortic denervation. Expression of c-Fos protein in the intermediolateral cell column of the middle thoracic spinal regions and blood epinephrine levels were investigated, following microinjection of glutamate receptor agonists or antagonists into the medial vestibular nucleus (MVN) and/or sodium nitroprusside (SNP)-induced hypotension. Both microinjection of glutamate receptor agonists (NMDA and AMPA) into the MVN or rostral ventrolateral medullary nucleus (RVLM) and SNP-induced hypotension led to increased number of c-Fos positive neurons in the intermediolateral cell column of the middle thoracic spinal regions and increased blood epinephrine levels. Pretreatment with microinjection of glutamate receptor antagonists (MK-801 and CNQX) into the MVN or RVLM prevented the increased number of c-Fos positive neurons resulting from SNP-induced hypotension, and reversed the increased blood epinephrine levels. These results indicate that the VSA axis may be a key component of the pathway used by the vestibulosympathetic reflex to maintain blood pressure during postural movements.

한국어 스펙트럼과 캡스트럼 측정시 안면마스크의 영향: 남녀 성우 2인 사례 연구 (Impact of face masks on spectral and cepstral measures of speech: A case study of two Korean voice actors)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 안면 마스크가 한국어에 미치는 영향을 음향적, 공기역학적, 포먼트 매개변수 측면에서 검증하고자 하였다. 국내에서 판매되는 모든 종류의 마스크를 필터 성능과 접이식 방식을 기준으로 선택하였다. 본 연구에는 표준 한국어를 구사하는 경력 20년 이상의 한국인 전문 성우 2명(남녀)이 음성 데이터의 화자로 참여하였다. 연구 결과, 안면 마스크는 고주파수 범위를 약화시켜 Vowel Space Area(VSA) 및 Vowel Articulation Index(VAI) 점수를 감소시키고 모든 음성 샘플에서 Low-to-High spectral ratio(L/H ratio)을 증가시킨 것으로 나타났다. 이로 인해 음성 명료도가 낮아질 수 있음을 파악하였다. 그러나 음성 특성에 따라 증가 및 감소 정도가 결정되며 여성 화자의 경우 안면 마스크 두께가 증가함에 따라 Speech Level(SL)과 Cepstral Peak Prominence(CPP)가 증가하였다. 그러나 남성 화자의 경우 안면 마스크 두께가 증가함에 따라 이 두 매개변수가 감소하였다. 결론적으로, 본 연구에서는 마스크의 유무나 필터 성능이 음성 특성에 따른 음성 음향 매개변수에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 안면 마스크는 음성 강도가 충분히 강하지 않거나 환경의 반향이 덜할 때 음성 노력에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 마스크 착용시 음향 변형을 극복하기 위해 안면 마스크로 유도된 음성 노력에 대한 추가적인 연구가 수행되어야 함을 시사한다.

FR/ATM 연동에서의 UPC 방식 (UPC Schemes on the Frame Relay/ATM Interworking in ATM Networks)

  • Frame relay needs UPC function for the multiplexed logical connections to prevent malicious user traffic from incoming to network, to guarantee the QoS of conformed user traffic, and to protect the normal operation of network system. On the FR/ATM interworking in ATM networks, the UPC may be conducted either by cell-based ATM UPC or frame-based FR UPC. Frames come into and traverse ATm networks by segmentation to ATM cells. Of course, FR QoS should be guaranteed in spite of segmentation and reassembly in ATM networks. In this paper, we compared the QoS of cell-based ATM UPC and frame-based FR UPC in terms of analysis and simulation in case of ingress of excess traffic over negotiated traffic parameters at user-to-network interface. Also we studied frame-based UPC schemes including window-based FR UPC and frame-based VSA which is an ATM UPC algorithm recommended by ITU-T. We described introductions to frame relay including frame structure and FR/ATM interworking, FR traffic parameters and their relationship, comparison of FR QoS between frame-based FR UPC and cell-based ATM UPC, comparison of FR UPC schemes, necessities of egress traffic control, and conclusions.

가변강성 액추에이터의 원리에 대한 비교 실험 연구 (Experimental Study on Different Principles of Variable Stiffness Actuators)

  • Nowadays, there are many researches involving structural actuators, which have adjustable stiffness; they are also called variable stiffness actuators (VSA). The VSAs can adjust the characteristics of actuators for various functions and human-machine safety. This paper describes the design and analysis of two types of VSAs. To adjust stiffness, the actuators are controlled by a principle of lever ratio mechanism, by changing a pivot position or a spring position in the structure with springs. To make the principle workable, the designs are simplified by using a ball screw system with a motor. Each structure shows different static properties with variable rates of stiffness. We have also shown the experimental verification of the dynamic performance of the two types of VSAs. This research can be applied to various industrial fields, where humans work in conjunction with robots.

개인용 VSA방식 소형 산소발생기 개발 (Development of Personal Compact Oxygen Generator using Vacuum Swing Absorption)

  • 본 논문은 휴대 및 이동이 가능한 개인용 소형 산소발생기 개발에 관한 것이다. 소형 산소발생기는 소형 진공펌프에 의해 진공흡착방식으로 작동된다. 각 구성품을 소형화와 경량화에 맞춰 구성하였으며 토출펌프 회전속도, 노즐 직경, 3-way 밸브 작동시간을 변화시키면서 산소농도와 유량을 최적화하였다. 노즐 직경 0.5mm에서 발생된 산소농도는 약 37%이며 유량은 $1{\ell}$/min이다. 노즐로부터 30cm 떨어진 위치에서 약 0.5%의 농도증가 효과가 나타났다.

경도 마비말장애 환자의 발화 유형에 따른 모음 특성 비교 (The change of vowel characteristics for the dysarthric speech along with speaking style)

  • The purpose of present study is to examine differences between habitual speech (HS) and clear speech (CS) in individuals with mild dysarthria. Twelve speakers with mild dysarthria and twelve healthy control speakers read sentences in two speaking styles. Formant and intensity related values, triangular area, and center of gravity of /a/, /i/, and /u/ were measured. In addition, formant-ratio variables such as vowel space area(VSA), vowel articulatory index (VAI), formant centralization ratio (FCR) and F2i/F1u ratio (F2 ratio) were calculated. The results of repeated-measures ANOVA showed a significant difference in F2 of vowel /i/ and F2 energy of vowel /a/ between groups. Regarding formant energy, F2 energy of vowel /a/ were observed as meaningful variables between speaking styles. There were significant speaking style-by-group interactions for F2 energy of vowel /a/. These findings indicated that current parameters could discriminate healthy group and mild dysarthria group meaningfully and that speaker with dysarthria had larger clear speech benefit than healthy talkers. We also claim that various acoustic changes of clear speech may contribute to improving vowel intelligibility.

심상 기법을 이용한 단축발 운동이 만성 발목 불안정성에 미치는 효과 (Effect of Short Foot Exercise Using an Imagery Technique on Chronic Ankle Instability)

  • Purpose : This study was aimed at investgating the effect of short foot exercise(SFE) using an imagery technique on chronic ankle instability(CAI). Methods : Twenty subjects with chronic ankle instability were selected by using the Cumberland ankle instability tool. They were randomly assigned to one of two groups(10 in each group) : namely the short foot exercise group and imagery technique group. The short foot exercise group performed short foot exercise for 6 weeks(3 times a week, 15 min per session). The imagery technique group performed short foot exercise(3 times a week, 15 min per session) and the imagery technique(3 times a week, 5 min per session) for 6 weeks. We measured chronic ankle instability, balance and threshold of vibration sensation before and after exercise by using the Cumberland ankle instability tool, Biodex Balance System and VSA-II, respectively. Results : We found statistically significant differences in cumberland ankle instability tool, balance and threshold of vibration sensation between the groups(p<.05). Conclusion : We confirmed the effect of short foot exercise using an imagery technique. Thus, we thought these results could be used as basic data and reference for musculoskeletal therapy or intervention using an imagery technique.

Modified sigmoid based model and experimental analysis of shape memory alloy spring as variable stiffness actuator

  • The stiffness of shape memory alloy (SMA) spring while in actuation is represented by an empirical model that is derived from the logistic differential equation. This model correlates the stiffness to the alloy temperature and the functionality of SMA spring as active variable stiffness actuator (VSA) is analyzed based on factors that are the input conditions (activation current, duty cycle and excitation frequency) and operating conditions (pre-stress and mechanical connection). The model parameters are estimated by adopting the nonlinear least square method, henceforth, the model is validated experimentally. The average correlation factor of 0.95 between the model response and experimental results validates the proposed model. In furtherance, the justification is augmented from the comparison with existing stiffness models (logistic curve model and polynomial model). The important distinction from several observations regarding the comparison of the model prediction with the experimental states that it is more superior, flexible and adaptable than the existing. The nature of stiffness variation in the SMA spring is assessed also from the Dynamic Mechanical Thermal Analysis (DMTA), which as well proves the proposal. This model advances the ability to use SMA integrated mechanism for enhanced variable stiffness actuation. The investigation proves that the stiffness of SMA spring may be altered under controlled conditions.

기호 형태의 값-집합 분석을 이용한 ARM 위치 독립적 코드의 정교한 역어셈블리 기법 (A Disassembly Technique of ARM Position-Independent Code with Value-Set Analysis Having Symbol-Form Domain)

  • 스마트 모바일의 보급에 따라, 컴퓨터 보안에서 ARM 아키텍처 명령어로 구성된 위치 독립적 코드의 역어셈블리 기법이 중요해지고 있다. 그러나 대부분의 기존 기법들은 x86 아키텍처 대상으로 연구되었으며, 위치 종속적 코드의 문제 해결과 범용성에 초점이 맞추어져 있다. 따라서, ARM 아키텍처의 고정 길이 명령어와 위치 독립적 코드의 특징이 제대로 반영되지 않아, 바이너리 계측과 같이 바이너리 자체를 직접 수정하는 수준의 고도화된 응용 보안 기술에 적용하기에는 수집되는 주소 정보의 정확도가 낮다. 본 논문에서, 우리는 ARM 명령어로 구성된 위치 독립적인 코드의 특성을 반영한 역어셈블리 기법을 제안한다. 정확하고 추적 가능한 주소의 수집을 위해, 도메인이 기호화된 값-집합 분석을 설계하였다. 또한, 역어셈블의 주요 문제점을 해결하기 위해, 컴파일러가 생성하는 코드의 특징을 활용한 휴리스틱을 고안하였다. 우리 기법의 정확도와 유효성을 검증하기 위해, 안드로이드 8.1 빌드에 포함된 669개의 공유라이브러리 및 실행 파일을 대상으로 실험하였으며, 그 결과 완전한 역어셈블의 비율이 91.47%로 나왔다.
