There are some studies about user's participation to reflect their desire and value on the planning of house by this time. These were constitution of unit space focused on the apartments, which is mostly theoretical. In architectural planning process, it takes time for continuous discussion and revision between architects and users. Also changes of plan must of necessity be so because of in or outside conditions. So, user's participation has its meaning that they take part in each step and portion of process faithfully on whole architectural processes. In this case, tenants of single houses were decided and they already buy building site and lay out rules jointly. With this circumstance I've researched a kind of test the reflection on various desires and its acceptance in each steps through completion of a construction work, which is based on their participation.

Nowadays, every kind of system is changed so complex and enormous, it is necessary to assure system reliability, product liability and safety. Fault tree analysis(FTA) is a reliability/safety design analysis technique which starts from consideration of system failure effect, referred to as “top event”, and proceeds by determining how these can be caused by single or combined lower level failures or events. So in fault tree analysis, it is important to find the combination of events which affect system failure. Minimal cut sets(MCS) and minimal path sets(MPS) are used in this process. FTA-I computer program is developed which calculates MCS and MPS in terms of Gw-Basic computer language considering Fussell's algorithm. FTA-II computer program which analyzes importance and function cost of VE consists. of five programs as follows : (l) Structural importance of basic event, (2) Structural probability importance of basic event, (3) Structural criticality importance of basic event, (4) Cost-Failure importance of basic event, (5) VE function cost analysis for importance of basic event. In this study, a method of initiation such as failure, function and cost in FTA is suggested, and especially the priority rank which is calculated by computer-aided decision analysis program developed in this study can be used in decision making determining the most important basic event under various conditions. Also the priority rank can be available for the case which selects system component in FMEA analysis.

This paper presents an analysis of heating energy for apartment houses in apartment building, paying special attention on the effect of pilotis which is increasing recently. A four-zone model composed of one conditioned and three unconditioned space is developed in this study. IES VE is adopted to estimate heating energy. Especially, we used Apache module for a heating energy calculated. The predicted result shows fairly good agreements with the available measured data and simulation data. Heating energy needed for an apartment located on the pilotis floors is far greater compared with the case of intermediate floors. Insulation thickness of walls, floors and underground structure appears to be a dominant factor affecting heating energy, which leads to needs of revision of the related regulation. It is finally concluded that the location dependent, severe imbalance in heating energy should be improved and reflected in the policy making process and the design standards.

Risk elements of highway safety facilities are affected by complex environments. Thus, risk-based approach for traffic safety facilities is needed. For this, in this study, qualitative and quantitative risk assessment methodology and procedure for highway safety facilities is proposed, which can be used as risk-based approach incorporating VE process. Also, for the quantitative risk assessment, event tree using EPDO(Equivalent Property Damage Only) with respect to frequency and magnitude of risk events is introduced. As a result, risk index of alternative 1(140cm) and 2(127(cm) which can be used as performance factor in VE approach are estimated.

In this paper several basic techniques for signal processing and analysis are surveyed. Thirdly techniques for the analysis of a signal namely detection. ess]motion and modulation are explained as well as the positive definiteness of a covariance function, Karhunen-Loeve expansion and SVD of an image.

The present research has been conducted on the arranged form, the number and kinds, the area, the location of the rooms and the variation on exterior designs, based on a layout and a ground plan of each step, which are general plan, VE proposal and the final negotiation, for 11 elementary and middle and high schools that are designed in the way of BTL project. In consequence, it has been found out that there are some changes in the number and position of the rooms. However, the changes are not exceeding the overall arrangement form. This could not have led to the original aim, which is to induce creativity by PFI. It can be supposed that it is because the BTL system is stick to the old process, the method of financial investment and it is true to say that there needs to be solution for that.

In the field of prosthesis arm control, the pattern classification of the EMG signal is a required basis process and also the estimation of force from collected EMG data is another necessary duty. But unfortunately, what we've got is not real force but an EMG signal which contains the information of force. This is the reason why we estimate the force from the EMG data. In this paper, when we handle the EMG signal to estimate the force, spatial prewhitening process is applied from which the spatial correlation between the channels are removed. And after the orthogonal transformation which is used in the force estimation process, the transformed signal Is inputed into the probabilistic model for pattern classification. To verify the different results of the multiple channels, SNR(signal to noise ratio) function is introduced.

Basically, modern architect's translation of relations between architectural space and human beings is focused upon the space and the way the space is experienced. Thus, the architecture is construed not as the finalized and fixed structure but as something undetermined and In progress. Here, we can identify the similarity between current trend and theory on process. Experience argument in this study is based upon such a similarity. And for your understanding of the spatial concept broached in the following experience argument, I've presented the analysis of Ben van Berkel's and Kazuyo Sejima's works that represent user's experiences in discussing art works. Taking a step further, I'll try to provide the true definition of being in progress and the potential of the architecture, thereby seeking the value and meaning of trends in modern architecture. In this regard, this study is aimed to analyze the attributes of experiences in progress identified in the art works of Ben van Berkel and Kazuyo Sejima and to extract and analyze the architectural concepts therein.

This study aims to suggest the method to enhance the value of public construction project during contract review process considering budget reduction for project profit and public interest enhancement simultaneously. The main results of this study are as follows: (1) Current method are considered to be improved from the point that cost reduction through current method could influence performance of the object of contract without conforming to user requirements or facilities' function. (2) In order to supplement current process, the method to evaluate the variation of performance and value was established based on facility type, participants on each phase, and their requirement. (3) Case study was conducted to verify suggested method, and showed the successful application in enhancing the value of construction projects on public sector.
