한국형 전자상거래 및 Web-EDI

  • This study is to understand the concept of CALS and EC which is based on the recent information technology and internet, and to introduce a business situation of Korean model of electronic commerce and WEB-EDI and suggest its development direction for the future. In that, with the development of the telecommunication technology and the proliferation of Internet, electronic commerce and WEB-EDI is expected to be escalated rapidly, the general examples in this study are thought to be greatly helpful to its development. In addition, the information including global trend of electronic commerce and domestic situation of EDI-VAN is provided on the practical basis with figures. The strategy for developing the domestic CALS/EC is suggested as guideline which leads to actively perform the business in these area triggered by government and private entities.

  • As Internet spreads rapidly, the industrial structure is changing to a new paradigm. The previous EDI system was asked to change and WEB EDI, E-Mail EDI, FTP EDI etc. which are based on the internet appeared. These days the XML/EDI which has XML document appeared. The XML/EDI consider advantages and disadvantages of VAN/EDI and EDI which based on the internet. Also, EDI system has to assure a safe exchange between sender and receiver. But, the internet has security problems because it uses a open TCP/IP protocol. Although there are many methods for security, it is being studied with XML concept. On this paper, we will suppose the XML/EDI system model with XML Signature, and build a procedure of electronic signature and delivery of document between sender and receiver.

  • Recently the trade patterns of the entire economy are rapidly changing on development of IT. The field of port logistics is enforcing a competitiveness through preliminary offer of information and a batch process for improving the structure of logistics management which is apparently high cost and the low efficiency since 1990. But a previous EDI is insufficient in process ability. Bemuse it costs for the purchasing and maintenance of the expensive communication devices which is operated on the VAN environment. A web based EDI operating on an open network environment is needed to improve these problems and to handle transaction efficiently among many and unauthorized personals. Therefore, this study is willing to present a new web based model of the pull process which extracts the data when the receiver is needed to improve the push process which is transmitting data unilaterally.

Electronic Data Interchange System for Hospital Demand Using XML (XML을 이용한 요양기관 청구 전자문서거래(EDI) 시스템)

  • Many companies are using EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) for the electronic transmission of documents and information to and from other companies. The appearance of Internet can enhance existing EDI systems. Existing EDI systems have several problems such as poor system interoperability and high expense of VAN. This paper prognoses a new EDI system utilizing Internet to provide open communication environment by using XML (extensible Markup language) and this applies it to the EDI service for Hospital Demand. XML is a mark-up language extending HTML which is a standard language for the expression of WWW (World-Wide Web) pages. XML is more structural than HTML, thus it is more suitable for the repetitive tasks of EDI and for the maintenance of databases. XML can transmit EDI documents in the open communication environment of Internet and users can easily access the documents with web browsers. Therefore we can provide EDI services within more open environment and we can build an EDI system with lower expense.

  • At present, the EDI systems are indispensable software in port logistics industry. Currently, a monopolistic VAN/EDI service provider operates the EDI services. The current EDI client software has the 2-tier fat client/server architecture. However, the current EDI software is lack of Web interface and causes lots of cost for maintenance. Therefore, a variety of implementation architecture has been being tried by using script, XML and distributed object-oriented technology. Web/EDI and XML/EDI are the new EDI systems, However, the EDI systems have some limitations such as speed. This study intends to compare the variety implementation architecture for the EDI systems in the users' perspective and explore the strong and weak points of each architecture. We compared the EDI systems based on our experience of more than 2-years of implementation project for the EDI systems of port logistics. We categorized the EDI systems as client application EDI, Web EDI using script, XML/EDI, and 3-tier distributed object-oriented EDI system. We compared them with criteria such as speed, program maintenance, easiness of implementation and usage, security, and load balancing and fail-over. Finally we discuss the direction of optimal EDI system architecture for the future.

  • EDI는 기업간의 전자적인 문서 교환의 한 형태로서 기업간 업무의 기반 환경이다. 그러나 전통적인 방식의 EDI는 여러 문제 때문에 확산이 잘 되지 않고 있어 이에 대한 대안들이 많이 나오고 있다. 이에 현실적인 대안으로 받아들여지고 있는 XML/EDI 시스템에 대한 연구와 구현이 이루어지고 있으나 이미 구현된 여러 예제들은 기본의 EDIFACT 등의 문서교환 표준과 VAN 업체와 같은 기능의 서버를 필요로 하는 형태의 것이 대부분이었다. 그러나 웹 기반의 분산객체를 이용하여 신뢰성 있는 XML/EDI를 구현한다면 저비용의 EDI 시스템을 구축할 수 있을 것이다. XML/EDI의 실제 적용은 비용과 기술적인 부분외에 많은 문제를 가지고 있지만 본 논문에서는 이를 구현하기 위한 XML/EDI 시스템의 설계 중간결과를 제안 발표한다.

An Implementation of Web-based XML/EDI System (웹 기반 XML/EDI 시스템 설계 및 구현)

  • The EDI system supports the working environment which can exchange the standardized document through the each agreed communication method. Traditional EDI system is complicated to be implemented and needed high cost te using the system because of the specific VAN(Value Added Network). This Paper proposes the XML/EDI system using the web-based distributed object and proposed the component 'AnySchema', as it makes be able to use legacy Database for EDI user. This XML/EDI system exchanges the XML documents through the Internet, so proposed low cost to support the system. Also, by using the XML document, it doesn't need EDI specific software and easy to exchange data between different systems. This system is implemented by using Java, as platform-independent.

  • 네트워크를 기반으로 한 인터넷의 급속한 발전은 개인간의 관계뿐만 아니라, 기업간의 업무 내역에 있어서도 많은 영향을 주었으며, 기존 기업간 문서 교환 시스템의 표준으로 활용되어 오던 독자적인 VAN망을 이용한 전통적 방식의 EDI(Electronic Data Interchange) 역시 많은 변화를 가져 왔다. 전통적 방식의 EDI가 기업 간 거래 수행을 할 수 있도록 '표준 포맷'으로 된 기업 거래 문서를 컴퓨터로 상호 통신한다는 EDI의 기본적인 개념에 충실하며 정확한 데이터 전송 및 보안이 가능한 장점에도 불구하고, 초기 구축비용 과다와 패쇄적인 구조로 인하여 시스템 확장에 어려움이 있으며, 또한 유지 보수 및 운영에도 지속적인 추가 비용이 소요되는 단점을 함께 가지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 위와 같은 전통적 방식의 EDI 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 컨테이너터미널과 선사간의 EDI를 이용한 메시지 송ㆍ수신 업무를 지난 2001년 8월 정부에서 기업간 전자 거래를 위한 데이터 교환 모델로서 권고한 ebXML 프레임워크를 이용하여 ebXML기반 EDI시스템으로 구현하였다.
