  • Wireless communication technologies including vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) enable the development of more sophisticated and effective traffic information systems. This study presents a method to estimate vehicular travel times in a vehicular ad hoc network (VANET) environment. A novel feature of the proposed method is estimating individual vehicle travel times through advanced on-board units in each vehicle, referred to as self-estimated travel time in this study. The method uses travel information including vehicle position and speed at each given time step transmitted through the V2V and V2I communications. Vehicle trajectory data obtained from the VISSIM simulator is used for evaluating the accuracy of estimated travel times. Relevant technical issues for successful field implementation are also discussed.

  • Vehicular communications is system which can be applied for transmission of various safety messages or Intelligent Transportation Systems(ITS) applications by combining vehicle/road technology with Information and Communication Technology(ICT). In recent years, a variety of ITS services are available such as driving information, road conditions, V2X messages as well as navigation and traffic jams notification. In general, vehicular communications can be used for vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure communication by adopting IEEE802.11p/1609 standard which is commonly known as wireless access in vehicular environments. In this paper, WAVE communication standard based on the IEEE802.11p is explained and signal characteristics in WAVE communication is introduced. Also, The H/W and S/W characteristics in Road Side Station and On Board Equipment for the Vehicle to Everything communication are analyzed. Received Signal Strength which is power of receiving signal of communication equipment is measured in test road to estimate the real WAVE communication's performance. It is shown that the implemented WAVE communication technology is satisfactory to provide ITS services.

  • In this paper, we propose two novel high-rate high-performance space-time codes for multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems. When $n_T$ transmit antennas and When $n_R$ = When $n_T$ receive antennas are deployed, the two proposed codes respectively offer transmission rates of (When $n_T$ -1) and (When $n_T$ -2) symbols per channel use and diversity orders of 3 and 5. As a consequence, our proposed codes allow the MIMO systems to employ a simple detection technique based on QR decomposition. Moreover, for equal or even higher spectral efficiencies, our proposed codes always provide much better bit error rate (BER) performances than V-BLAST architecture does when When $n_R$ = When $n_T$. Computer simulation is given to verify performances of our proposed codes.

  • We proposed the new pixel compensation circuit with high aperture ratio and the driving method for the large-area, low-power AMOLED applications in this study. We designed with the low-temperature poly-silicon(LTPS) thin film transistors(TFTs) that has poor uniformity but good mobility and stability. To lower the error rate of the pixel circuit and to improve the aperture ratio for bottom emission method, we simplified the pixel compensation circuit. Because the proposed pixel compensation circuit with high aperture ratio has very low contrast ratio for conventional driving methods, we proposed the new driving method and circuit for high contrast ratio. Black data insertion was introduced to improve the characteristics for moving images. The pixel circuit was designed for 19.6" WXGA bottom-emission AMOLED panel, and the average aperture ratio of the pixel circuit is improved from 33.0% to 41.9%. For the TFT's $V_{TH}$ variation of ${\pm}0.2\;V$, the non-uniformity and contrast ratio of the designed panel was estimated under 6% and over 100000:1 respectively.

  • A new CMOS voltage-controlled fully-differential transconductor is presented. The basic structure of the proposed transconductor is based on a four-MOS transistor cell operating in the triode or saturation region. It achieves a high linearity range of ${\pm}\;1\;V$ at a 1.5 V supply voltage. The proposed transconductor is used to realize a new fully-differential Gm-C low-pass filter with a minimum number of transconductors and grounded capacitors. PSpice simulation results for the transconductor circuit and its filter application indicating the linearity range and verifying the analytical results using $0.35\;{\mu}m$ technology are also given.

  • BN ceramics with 0.07wt% $V_{2}O_{5}$ and 0.03wt% CuO(BNC3V7) sintered at $900^{\circ}C$ where it is possible for these to be co-fired with Ag electrode. Dielectricconstant of 44.3, TCF of 22 ppm$/^{\circ}C$ and $Qxf_{o}$ value of 22,000 GHz can be obtained from BNC3V7, multilayer type band pass filters using tapped method and conventional method were designed for PCS (Personal Communication System) applications. Tapped method by adopting input/output-tapping scheme the chip filter stucture becomes simpler and needs fewer layers than that using the conventional input/output-coupling scheme. A multilayer type band pass filter fabricated by screen-printing with silver electrode after tape casting. The simulated characteristics of the fabricated filters sintered at $900^{\circ}C$ were compared with the designed ones. Even though the centered frequencies of tapped and conventional band pass chaip filters were measured to shift about 90MHz downward, the band pass characteristics of both filters were similar that of designed ones. The spuriousresonance characteristic of tapped pass chip filter was better than that of conventional chip filer.

  • Recently, several MAC protocols using the directional antennas have been proposed for wireless mobile ad hoc networks. In the theory, it can improve spatial reuse and communication throughput in the Mobile Ad-hoc networks. But, or However even though direction transmissions using the Directional MAC protocol(D-MAC) are expected to provide significant improvements, they causes other problems such as deafness problem and fairness problem. In this paper, we analyze the D-MAC protocol in Mobile Ad-hoc network for Vehicle to vehicle(V2V) communication. Through the results of the analysis, We the fundamental problem of D-MAC protocol and finally we suggest new D-MAC protocol for V2V networks.

  • DC and low frequency noise characteristics of InGaP/InGaAs pseudomorphic HEMTs (p-HEMTs) grown by compound source MBE are investigated for temperature range of 150K to 370K. Equivalent input noise spectra( $S_{iv}$ ) were measured as a function of frequency and temperature. $S_{iv}$ was measured to be 3.4 $\times$ 10$^{-12}$ $V^2$/ Hz at 1kHz for 1.3 X 50${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$$^2$InGaP/InGaAs p-HEMT at room temperature. Measurements of the low-frequency noise spectra of the p-HEMT as a function of temperature show that the trap with an activation energy level around 0.589 eV is a dominant trap that accounts for the low-frequency noise behavior of the device. The normalized extrinsic gm frequency dispersion of the p-HEMT. was as low as 2.5% at room temperature, indicating that the device has well-behaved low-frequency noise characteristics. Sub-micron (0.25 $\times$ 50${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$$^2$) gate p-HEMT showed $f_{T}$ and $f_{max}$ of 40GHz and 108GHz, respectively.y.y.
