Photometric Classification of the Variable Star TU UMi (측광학적 방법을 이용한 TU UMi의 변광성 분류)

  • We present B, V, I time series CCD photometry for the variable star TU UMi to classify its variable type. The observations were performed using 61cm telescope equipped with 2K CCD camera at Sobaeksan Optical Astronomy Observatory (SOAO). Judging from the amplitude ratio $({\Delta}i/{\Delta}v)$ and color variation $({\Delta}(b-v),\;{\Delta}(v-i))$. TU UMi should be a W UMa type eclipsing binary. We obtained two primary times of minimum lights (HJD 2453848.0446, HJD 2453848.2309) from our observations and determined new orbital elements (Min I=HJD 2452500.1344+0.37708907${\times}$E) for TU UMi.

  • Electrical forming dependent current-voltage (I-V) and numerically derived differential conductance(dI/dV) characteristics have been presented in the multi-layer nano-crystalline silicon/oxygen (no-Si/O) superlattice. Distinct staircase-like features, indicating the presence of resonant tunnel barriers, are clearly observed in the dc I-V characteristics. Also, all samples showed a continuous change in current and zero conductivity around OV corresponding to the Coulomb blockade in the calculated dI/dV-V curve. Also, Ra-man scattering measurement showed the presence of a nano-crystalline Si structure. This result becomes a step in the right direction for the fabrication of silicon-based optoelectronic and quantum devices as well as for the replacement of silicon-on-insulator (SOI) in high speed and low power silicon MOSFET devices of the future.

The goal of this paper is to investigate the solution and the stability using the alternative fixed point of generalized cubic functional equation $ \sum\limits_{I{\in}V}f(\sum\limits_{i{\in}I}a_ix_i-\sum\limits_{i{\in}I^c}a_ix_i)=2{^{n-2}{a_1}}\sum\limits_{i=2}^na_i^2[f(x_1+x_i)+f(x_1-x_i)]+2{^{n-1}{a_1}(a^2_1-\sum\limits_{i=2}^2a^2_i)f(x_1)$ in ${\beta}$-Banach modules on Banach algebras, where $a_1,{\ldots},a_n{\in}\mathbb{Z}{\backslash}\{0\}$ with $a_1{\neq}={\pm}1$ and $a_n=1$.

  • In u-TSN environment, the communication between vehicle terminal and roadside equipment is very important to support prompt service and to secure road traffic information in real-time upon organizing traffic system. This study suggested V2I or I2V communication service scenario for performance test on vehicle communication system as well as V2V inter-vehicle communication service scenario for emergency information transmission which requires rapidity and accuracy. After implementing real inter-vehicle communication system, we performed vehicle communication experiment following suggested communication service scenario to test the performance. Consequently, we could draw out the optimal transmission mode setup condition, and the result can be applied to the development of stable and efficient u-TSN vehicle communication system.

Effects of Ginsenosides Injected Intrathecally or Intracerebroventricularly on Antinociception Induced by D-$Pen^{2,5}$-enkephalin Administered Intracerebroventricularly in the Mouse

  • The effect of total saponin fraction of Ginseng injected intrathecally (i.1.) or in- tracerebroventricularly (i.c.v.) on the antinociception induced by D-$Pen^{2,5}$- enkephalin (DPDPE) ad ministered i.c.v. was studied in ICR mice in the present study. The antinociception was assessed by the tail-flick test. Total saponin fraction at doses 0.1 to 1.0 $\mu\textrm{g}$, which administered i.t. Alone did not affect the latencies of tail-flick threshold, attenuated dose-dependently the inhibition of the tail-flick response induced by i.c.v. administered DPDPE (10 $\mu\textrm{g}$). However, total saponin fraction at doses 1 to 20 $\mu\textrm{g}$, which administered i.c.v. Alone did not affect the latencies of the tail-flick response, did not affect i.c.v. administered DPDPE (10 $\mu\textrm{g}$)-induced antinociception. The duration of antagonistic action of total saponin fraction against DPDPE-induced antlnociception was lasted at least for 6 hrs. Various doses of ginsenosides Rd, but not $\Rb_2$, Rc, Rg1, and $\Rb_1$ and Re, injected i.t. Dose-dependently attenuated antinociception induced by DPDPE administered i.c.v. Our results indicate that total saponin fraction injected spinally appears to have antagonistic action against the antinociception induced by supraspinally applied DPDPE. Ginsenoside Rd appears to be responsible for blocking j.c.v. administered DPDPE-induced antinociception. On the other hand, total ginseng fraction, at supraspinal sites, may not have an antagonistic action against the antinociception induced by DPDPE.

A Study on Composition of VSNR Circuit by Operational Amplifier (확산증폭기에 의한 전압안정 부저항회로의 구성에 대하여)

  • A voltage-stable negative resistance circuit with operational amplifier is proposed, and circuit analysis is given all the input voltage range. The behavior of the v-i characteristics in the nogative resistance region is devided into two causes, and top points in the input v-i characteristics of the circuit is analyzed with them. Experimental results of the v-i characteristics of the proposed circuit has a good linearity in the negative region with negative resistance, -86$\Omega$~-833$\Omega$ for the input voltage, $\pm$ 1~$\pm$ 5 colts. The v-i characteristics of the circuit in all the input voltage range is discussed.

Comparison in Restriction Profile Analysis of Vibrio furnissi, Vibrio fluvialis, and Vibrio parahaemolyicus Bacteriophage from Sea Product

  • The bacteriophages lytic for Vibrio furnissi, Vibrio furniulis and Vibrio parahemolyticus were isolated from fish gills and shellfish. Nucleic acid of bacteriophage was prepared and restriction endonuclease profile was compared. All isolates contained deoxyribonucleic acid. V. fumissi bacteriophage from fish gills showed 2 bands with Bgl II, 1 with Pst, 3 with Hind III, 1 with Bm HI and 2 with EcoR I. V Puuialis phage represented 7 fragments with Bgl II, 1 with Pst, 4 with Hind III, and 2 with EcoR I. V parhemolyticn produced 13 sites with Hind III and 4 sites with EcoR I. The fragment types were varied depending on the phage isolation. All three phages were digested with Hind III and EcoR I with different sizes. V furnissi phage were digested with 5 different restriction enzymes.   • This paper presents a simple method for evaluating of voltage stability using the line flow equation. Line flow equations ($P_{ij}$, $Q_{ij}$) are comprised of state variable, $V_i$, ${\delta}_i$, $V_j$ and ${\delta}_j$, and line parameter, r and x. Using the feature of polar coordinate, these becomes one equation with two variables, $V_i$ and $V_j$. Moreover, if bus j is slack or generater bus, which is specified voltage magnitude, it becomes one equation with one variable $V_i$, that is, may be formulated with the second-order equation for $V_i^2$. Therefore, multiple load flow solutions may be obtained with simple computation, and the formulated equation used for approximately evaluating of voltage stability limit considering line flow sensitivity. The proposed method was validated to 2-bus and IEEE 6-bus system.

Two Types of Voltage-dependent Outward Potassium Currents in Smooth Muscle Cells of Rabbit Basilar Atery

  • We have investigated the two types of voltage-dependent outward potassium (K) currents, i.e. delayed rectifier K current ($I_{K(V)}$) and 'A-like' transient outward K current ($I_{to}$) with patch-clamp technique in single smooth muscle cells (SMCs) isolated from rabbit basilar artery, and investigated the characteristics of them. The time-courses of activation were well fitted by exponential function raised to second power ($n^2$) in $I_{K(V)}$ and fourth power ($n^4$) in $I_{to}$. The activation, inactivation and recovery time courses of $I_{to}$ were much faster than that of $I_{K(V)}$. The steady-state activation and inactivation of $I_{K(V)}$ was at the more hyperpolarized range than that of $I_{to}$ contrary to the reports in other vascular SMCs. Tetraethylammonium chloride (TEA; 10 mM) markedly inhibited $I_{K(V)}$ but little affected $I_{to}$. 4-Aminopyridine (4-AP) had similar inhibitory potency on both currents. While a low concentration of $Cd^{2+}$ (0.5 mM) shifted the current- voltage relationship of $I_{to}$ to the positive direction without change of maximum conductance, $Cd^{2+}$ did not cause any appreciable change for $I_{K(V)}$.

  • The symbol C($m_1^{n_1}m_2^{n_2}{\cdots}m_s^{n_s}$) denotes a 2-regular graph consisting of $n_i$ cycles of length $m_i,\;i=1,\;2,\;{\cdots},\;s$. In this paper, we give some construction methods of cyclic($K_v$, G)-designs, and prove that there exists a cyclic($K_v$, G)-design when $G=C((4m_1)^{n_1}(4m_2)^{n_2}{\cdots}(4m_s)^{n_s}\;and\;v{\equiv}1(mod\;2|G|)$.
