죽력(竹瀝)과 천축황(天竺黃)이 Streptozotocin으로 당뇨가 유발된 백서의 혈당강하 및 말초신경기능회복에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Bambusae caulis in liquamen and Bambusae concretio silicae on Blood Sugar Reduction and Improvement of Peripheral Nerve Function in Diabetic Rats Induced with Streptozotocin)

  • Objectives This study was designed to investigate the effects of Bambusae caulis in liquamen and Bambusae concretio silicae on blood sugar reduction and improvement of peripheral nerve function in diabetic rat models. Methods Diabetic rat models induced by streptozotocin were divided into five groups. We fed experimental group I of rats basal diet and administered normal saline (3 ml, 1 time/1 day) for 6 weeks. We fed experimental group II of rats basal diet and administered Bambusae caulis in liquamen (100 mg/kg, 1 time/1 day) for 6 weeks. We fed experimental group III, IV, V of rats basal diet and administered Bambusae concretio silicae (100 mg/kg, 200 mg/kg, 400 mg/kg once a day) for 6 weeks. We investigated weight and glucose level of rats, and carried out touch test, hot plate test, sensory & motor nerve conduction velocity test and immunohistochemical study after 48 hours, 2 weeks, 4 weeks and 6 weeks. Results 1. The weight of all experimental group was gradually decreased. And glucose level was significantly decreased in the experimental group II, III, IV, V as compared with experimental group I. Especially experimental group II, IV, V were significantly decreased as compared with experimental group III. 2. In the quantitative analysis by touch test and hot plate test, mechanical pain threshold and heat pain threshold were significantly decreased in the other experimental groups as compared with experimental group I. Especially experimental group II, IV, V were significantly decreased as compared with experimental group III. 3. In the sensory and motor nerve conduction velocity test, sensory and motor nerve conduction velocity were significantly increased in the other experimental groups as compared with experimental group I. Especially experimental group II, IV, V were significantly increased as compared with experimental group III. 4. In the substance P immunohistochemical study, experimental group II, IV, V showed strong immune response in spinal cord. Conclusions Bambusae caulis in liquamen and Bambusae concretio silicae were probably useful to treat patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy.

유한요소법을 이용한 대퇴 골두내 무혈성 괴사증의 다양한 수술적 기법에 대한 생체역학적 분석 (A Biomechanical Analysis of Various Surgical Procedures for Osteonecrosis of the Femoral Head using a Finite Element Method)

  • Operative procedures such as core drilling with and without fibular bone grafting have been recognized as the treatment methods for osteonecrosis of femoral head(ONFH) by delaying or preventing the collapse of the femoral head. In addition, core drilling with cementation using polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) has been proposed recently as another surgical method. However, no definite treatment modality has been found yet while operative procedures remain controversial to many clinicians In this study, a finite element method(FEM) was employed to analyze and compare various surgical procedures of ONFH to provide a biomechanical insight. This study was based upon biomechanical findings which suggest stress concentration within the femoral head may facilitate the progression of the necrosis and eventual collapse. For this purpose, five anatomically relevant hip models were constructed in three dimensions : they were (1) intact(Type I), (2) necrotic(Type II), (3) core drilled only(Type III), (4) core drilled with fibular bone graft(Type IV), and (5) core drilled with cementation(Type V). Physiologically relevant loading were simulated. Resulting stresses were calculated. Our results showed that the volumetric percentage subjected to high stress in the necrotic cancellous region was greatest in the core drilled only model(Type III), followed by the necrotic(Type II), the bone graft (Type IV), and the cemented(Type V) models. Von Mises stresses at the tip of the graft(Type IV) was found to be twice more than those of cemented core(Type V) indicating the likelihood of the implant failure. In addition, stresses within the cemented core(Type V) were more evenly distributed and relatively lower than within the fibular bone graft(Type IV). In conclusion, our biomechanical analyses have demonstrated that the bone graft method(Type IV) and the cementation method(Type V) are both superior to the core decompression method(Type III) by reducing the high stress regions within the necrotic cancellous bone. Also it was found that the core region filled with PMMA(Type V) provides far smoother transfer of physiological load without causing the concentration of malignant stresses which may lead to the failure than with the fibular bone graft(Type IV). Therefore, considering the above results along with the degree of difficulties and risk of infection involved with preparation of the fibular bone graft, the cementation method appears to be a promising surgical treatment for the early stage of osteonecrosis of the femoral head.

국내에서 분리된 Pseudomonas syringae pv. actinidiae biovar 3 균주들의 subgroup 분포 (Distribution of Subgroups in Pseudomonas syringae pv. actinidiae Biovar 3 Strains Isolated from Korea)

  • 키위에 세균성 궤양병을 일으키는 Pseudomonas syringae pv. actinidiae는 유전적 특성과 생산하는 독소에 따라 5개의 biovar (1, 2, 3, 5, 6)로 나누어진다. 그중 최근 전 세계적으로 유행하고 있는 biovar 3는 2011년부터 국내에서 분리되고 있다. RAPD 분석을 바탕으로 국내에서 분리된 biovar 3 균주는 6개의 subgroup (I, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII)으로 나누어진 바 있다. 본 연구에서는 차등되는 RAPD 밴드의 염기서열로부터 6개 subgroup 각각에 특이적인 SCAR primers를 개발하였다. 각 subgroup에 특이적인 이들 primers를 사용하여 2011-2017에 국내에서 분리한 biovar 3 균주들의 subgroup 분포를 조사하였다. 조사된 54개 균주 중 35개(64.8%)가 subgroup V에, 9개(16.7%) 균주가 subgroup IV, 4개(7.4%)가 subgroup VI, 3개(5.6%) 균주가 subgroup VII, 2개(3.7%)가 subgroup VIII, 그리고 1개(1.9%) 균주가 subgroup I에 속하였다. Subgroups IV, V 및 VI에 속하는 균주들은 각각 중국, 뉴질랜드, 칠레 균주와 연관이 있었다. 이 연구에 따르면 우리나라의 biovar 3 균주들은 유전적으로 다양하며 꽃가루를 통해 외국으로부터 유입된 것으로 추정된다.

  • $VO_2^+$$[Mo_2O_4(H_2O)_6]^{2+}$의 반응에 대한 속도론은 25$^{\circ}$C에서 분광광도법으로 연구하였다. $[Mo_2O_4(H_2O)_6]^{2+}$이 산화반응의 화학양론은$ Mo_2^V + 2V^V {\rightleftharpoons} 2Mo^{VI} + 2V^{IV}$이다. 관찰된 유사일차속도상수, $k_{obs}$는 수소이온과 $ VO^{2+}$에 의존한다. $[Mo_2O_4(H_2O)_6]^{2+}$$VO^{2+}$의 산화-환원반응에 대한 메카니즘이 제시되며 이에 대하여 논의된다.

광 전달 쐐기를 이용한 중합 방법이 레진 충전물의 미세 누출과 미세 경도에 미치는 효과 (THE INFLUENCE OF CURING WITH LIGHT TRANSMITTING WEDGE INSERTED INTO THE COMPOSITE RESIN BODY ON THE DEGREE OF MICROLEAKAGE AND MICROHARDNESS)

  • The purpose of this study was to test the hypothesis that the more thorough cure of lightactivated composite resin could be obtained if a new way of delivering the light source deep through the resin body is developed when compared to the conventional bulk cure or incremental cure. Using cylindrical resin blocks and natural teeth, various curing conditions were tested for their effects on the degree of microleakage and microhardness. Data were analyzed statistically using One-Way ANOVA and Scheff's Multiple Range test. The results of the present study were as follows: 1. The increment of reduction in microhardness with depth was shown to be higher in group I and II than in group II and V. 2. At the level of lower inner surface and the bottom surface, significantly lower microhardness values were obtained in group I and II when compared to group III, IV and V. Group IV showed the lowest value among three groups(III, IV, V) representing the only statistically significant difference from group V(p<05). 3. Differences between groups in the degree of microleakage detected were shown to be statistically significant (p<05) with the exception of group IV and V at both occlusal and gingival margins. 4. Based upon the above-mentioned results, commonly cited recommendation of incremental curing is strongly supported and the light-transmitting wedge insertion method can be considered as a effective and feasible clinical procedure for the better curing of composite resin. However, more studies under a variety of conditions should be completed before this method is applied actually to the clinical setting.

Multilocus sequence type-dependent activity of human and animal cathelicidins against community-, hospital-, and livestock-associated methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus isolates

  • Sequence type (ST) 5 methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) with staphylococcal cassette chromosome mec (SCCmec) type II (ST5-MRSA-II) and ST72-MRSA-IV represent the most significant genotypes for healthcare- (HA) and community-associated (CA) MRSA in Korea, respectively. In addition to the human-type MRSA strains, the prevalence of livestock-associated (LA) MRSA clonal lineages, such as ST541 and ST398 LA-MRSA-V in pigs and ST692 LA-MRSA-V and ST188 LA-MRSA-IV in chickens, has recently been found. In this study, clonotype-specific resistance profiles to cathelicidins derived from humans (LL-37), pigs (PMAP-36), and chickens (CATH-2) were examined using six different ST groups of MRSA strains: ST5 HA-MRSA-II, ST72 CA-MRSA-IV, ST398 LA-MRSA-V, ST541 LA-MRSA-V, ST188 LA-MRSA-IV, and ST692 LA-MRSA-V. Phenotypic characteristics often involved in cathelicidin resistance, such as net surface positive charge, carotenoid production, and hydrogen peroxide susceptibility were also determined in the MRSA strains. Human- and animal-type MRSA strains exhibited clonotype-specific resistance profiles to LL-37, PMAP-36, or CATH-2, indicating the potential role of cathelicidin resistance in the adaptation and colonization of human and animal hosts. The ST5 HA-MRSA isolates showed enhanced resistance to all three cathelicidins and hydrogen peroxide than ST72 CA-MRSA isolates by implementing increased surface positive charge and carotenoid production. In contrast, LA-MRSA strains employed mechanisms independent of surface charge regulation and carotenoid production for cathelicidin resistance. These results suggest that human- and livestock-derived MRSA strains use different strategies to counteract the bactericidal action of cathelicidins during the colonization of their respective host species.

고랭지 여름배추 주산지의 기온을 기준으로 한 수준별 온도가 배추 '춘광'의 생육 및 생리반응에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Differentiated Temperature Based on Growing Season Temperature on Growth and Physiological Response in Chinese Cabbage 'Chunkwang')

  • 본 연구는 미래 기후변화 시나리오에 근거한 5가지 온도처리가 '춘광' 배추의 생육, 품질 및 생리반응에 미치는 영향을 구명하기 위해 수행하였다. 처리구는 $-2.0^{\circ}C$(I), 평년온도(II), $+2.0^{\circ}C$(III), $+4.0^{\circ}C$(IV), $+6.0^{\circ}C$(V) 등 5 수준으로 설정하였다. 생체중, 엽수 및 엽면적의 경시적 변화를 조사한 결과, 결구 이전에는 고온처리구인 IV, V처리구가 높은 수치를 보였으나, 결구기 이후 현저히 감소하여 정식 후 70일에는 고온처리구일수록 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 배추 내부의 무름 증상은 V처리구가 85.7%로 가장 높았으며, IV (64.3%), III (28.6%), II (14.3%), I (7.1%)순으로 감소하였다. 광합성률을 측정한 결과, 정식 후 30일전에는 III, IV, V처리구의 광합성률이 높은 수치를 보였으나, 생육후반에는 크게 감소한 반면, I, II처리구는 크게 증산량과 기공전도도 역시 비슷한 경향을 보였다. 정식 후 50일의 엽록소 형광반응을 비교한 결과, Fv/Fm은 I처리구가 8.04로 처리구 중 가장 높았으며 IV처리구가 7.15로 가장 낮았다.

  • Solution and frozen solution EPR spectra of $\alpha-1,2,3-[HPV(IV)V_2W_9O_{40}]^{6-}$ have been analyzed. The isotropic hyperfine coupling constants remain constant at 350-77 K, indicating that the unpaired electron is delocalized over three vanadium atoms probably even in the ground state.

오대산국립공원 중대사-비로봉 구간 식물군집구조 (The Structure of Plant Community in Jungdaesa-Birobong Area, Odaesan National Park)

  • 본 연구는 오대산국립공원 해발 1,000m 이상의 고지대인 중대사~비로봉 구간에 대한 산림식생현황 및 천이계열, 변화양상을 파악하는데 그 목적이 있다. 중대사~비로봉 구간의 식물군집구조를 파악하기 위하여 $20m{\times}20m(400m^2)$의 방형구 17개소를 설정하였다. 설정된 조사구별 상대우점치, 흉고직경급별 분포, 표본목의 생장량 및 수령, 유사도지수, 종다양도지수 등을 분석하였다. DCA분석 결과, 군집 I(신갈나무-피나무군집), 군집 II(신갈나무-낙엽활엽수군집), 군집 III(신갈나무-잣나무군집), 군집 IV(전나무-신갈나무군집), 군집 V(전나무-낙엽활엽수군집) 등 5개 식물군집으로 분류되었다. 조사구별 상대우점치 분석결과, 신갈나무는 해발고가 높을수록, 전나무는 해발고가 낮을수록 군집내 상대 우점치가 높아지는 경향을 나타내었다. 군집 I, 군집 II, 군집 III은 현상태가 지속적으로 유지될 것으로 판단되었으며, 군집 IV, 군집V에서는 신갈나무의 세력이 약화될 것으로 파악되었다. 표본목의 수령은 85~161년(평균 123년)이었다. 유사도지수 분석결과 5개의 군집은 이질성이 강한 것으로 나타났으며, 특히 높은 해발고의 군집 I과 낮은 해발고의 군집 IV, V간의 이질성이 높았다. 단위면적 $400m^2$당 샤논의 종다양도지수를 분석한 결과, 군집 III(1.1109) > 군집 II(1.0475) > 군집 I(1.0125) > 군집 IV(0.9918) > 군집 V(0.8686)의 순으로 높았다. 신갈나무가 우점하는 군집의 종다양도는 과거 연구 및 주변 지역 연구 결과와 비교하여 유사한 반면, 전나무가 우점하는 군집의 경우 다소 낮은 것으로 확인되었다.

  • 본 논문에서는 원자력병원에 설치된 50MeV-proton싸이클로트론의 진공계통에 관한 일반적인 특성과 측정된 진공결과를 기술하고 있다. 진공장치는 5개의 그룹으로 구성되어 있으며, 동작순서는 EPROM-PC장치에 의해 자동제어된다. 정상가동중의 도달 진공도는 각각 $5{\times}10^{-6}mbar(I,\;II),\;2{\times}10^{-6}mbar(III),\;1.2{\times}10^{-5}mbar(IV),\;1.5{\times}10^{-6}mbar(V)$였으며 이 진공도는 50MeV-proton빔을 가속하기에 충분함을 보여 주었다.
