IIM을 활용한 환경교육프로그램이 환경에 대한 감수성 및 환경친화적 행동에 미치는 효과 (The Effect on the Sensitivity of Environment and Environment-Friendly Behaviors by Environment Education Program Using IIM)

  • This research was composed over a period of 10 times and was performed to be conducted in an environmental education class for 4 months from September to December of 2008 by selecting 32 experimental group students and 32 control group students from OO Middle School in the Busan area. An environmental education program utilizing lIM(independent investigation method) was composed by selecting a theme for environmental education among the environmental curriculum in middle schools. The results of analyzing the effects which influence environmental sensitivity and environment-friendly behaviors after applying the environmental education program utilizing IIM are as follows. First, it was revealed that the environmental education program utilizing IIM is more effective among experimental group students than control group students in regards to environment-friendly sensitivity. Second, it was revealed that the environmental education program utilizing IIM is more effective among experimental group students than control group students in regards to environment- friendly behaviors. Third, it was seen that even students responded very favorably toward environmental education program utilizing IIM.

초등 과학 수업에 VR 구현 프로그램을 활용한 SW 융합교육프로그램의 개발과 적용 (The Development and Application of the SW-STEAM Program by Utilizing Software Supporting the Creation of VR for Elementary Science Class)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyse the effects of the SW-STEAM program by utilizing software supporting the creation of VR for elementary science class. Two classes of 5th grade were selected, and were engaged in different teaching and learning methods during 12 class hours. The experimental group which is consisted of 20 students participated in the SW-STEAM program by utilizing software supporting the creation of VR, the comparative group which comprised 19 students was thaught by using a traditional instruction. Teaching unit was 'the solar system and stars' in 5th grade science text book. The results of this study were as follows. The SW-STEAM program by utilizing software the creation of VR had a positive effect on elementary school students' creative problem solving ability, scientific interest, science achievement. Therefore, the SW-STEAM program by utilizing software supporting the creation of VR could be meaningful works to encourage students' creative problem solving ability, scientific interest, science achievement, and this study will help elementary teachers teach 'the solar system and stars' in 5th grade science text book more interesting.

먹거리를 활용한 유아 수학교육 프로그램이 만 4세 유아의 수학능력에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of Mathematics Education Program Utilizing Food on 4-Year-Old Children's Mathematical Ability)

  • Objective: The purpose of the study was to develop a mathematics education program utilizing food to improve the mathematical abilities of 4-year-olds and to analyze the effects of this program on 4-years-olds' mathematical concepts (number and operation, algebra, geometry, measurement, data analysis, and probability). Methods: The study selected 30 4-year-olds from two daycare centers located in K city. The experimental group (N=15) participated in the mathematics education program utilizing food, 10 times for five weeks, while the comparative group (N=15) participated in the seasonal mathematics education program based on the Nuri Curriculum. The activities of this intervention program were designed to cover all domains of Mathematical Exploratory areas in the Nuri Curriculum. For data processing and analysis, pre-test and post-test score differences between the two groups were analyzed through MANCOVA. Results: The experimental group had significantly higher scores on five mathematical concepts compared with the control group. A mathematics education program utilizing food had the positive effect of improving 4-year-olds' mathematical ability. Conclusion/Implications: Mathematic education programs utilizing food are recommended as necessary pedagogical data to develop the mathematical abilities of children in education centers, families, or relating to parenting education.

  • Polarization mode converters have been produced by utilizing Ti:LiNbO$_{3}$ channel waveguide and strain-optic effect. Shear strain for periodic perturbations of optical channel waveguides and phase matching can be obtained by an evaporated periodic SiO$_{2}$ thin film at 300.deg. C. The electrodes located on the either side of waveguide provide a means to electro-optically tune the wavelength for maximum polarization conversion via the electrooptic effect. The maximum conversion effeciency was observed at 21.deg. C for V=0 and 46.deg. C for V=30V aro the device having 7 .mu.m waveguide wiith and 350 periodic pads. The dependence of the number of pads on conversion efficiency was observed experimentally.fficiency was observed experimentally.

콴다 효과를 적용한 고정식 핀 안정기 설계를 위한 수치적 연구 (A Numerical Study for Design of a Fixed Type Fin Stabilizer Utilizing the Coanda Effect)

  • Fins are widely used for roll stabilization of passenger ferries and high performance naval ships, among others. The Coanda effect is noticeable when a jet stream is applied tangentially to a curved wing surface since the jet can augment the lift by increasing the circulation. The Coanda effect has been found useful in various fields of aerodynamics and speculated to have practical applicability in marine hydrodynamics where various control surfaces are used to control motions of ships and the other offshore structures. In the present study, numerical computations have been performed to find proper jet momentum coefficients $C_j$ and trailing edge shapes suitable for the application of the Coanda effect to a stabilizer fin. The results show that the lift coefficient of the modified Coanda fin at the zero angle of attack ${\alpha}$ identically coincides with that of the original fin at ${\alpha}\;=\;25^{\circ}$ when Coanda jet is supplied at the rate of $C_j$ = 0.1. It is also shown that a fixed type fin stabilizer utilizing the Coanda effect can be implemented without changing the fin angle to actively control the motions of ships and the other offshore structures.

스마트 기기를 활용한 역진행 자유탐구 수업이 초등학생의 디지털 리터러시, 21세기 핵심 역량, 과학적 태도에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Elementary Free Inquiry Lessons Utilizing Flipped Learning with Smart Devices on the Elementary Students' Digital Literacy, 21st Century Skills and Scientific Attitude)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of free inquiry lessons utilizing flipped learning with smart devices on digital literacy, $21^{st}$ century skills and scientific attitude of $5^{th}$ graders of elementary school. The subjects of this study were two different $5^{th}$ grade classes in J elementary school located in B metropolitan city. Free inquiry lessons utilizing flipped learning with smart devices were applied to experimental group, whereas comparison group was taught general free inquiry lessons using ordinary teaching materials. The results of this study were as follows: First, free inquiry lessons utilizing flipped learning with smart devices were statistically meaningful on students' digital literacy. Second, free inquiry lessons utilizing flipped learning with smart devices were not statistically meaningful on students' $21^{st}$ century skills. Third, free inquiry lessons utilizing flip teaching with smart devices were not statistically meaningful on students' scientific attitude. Fourth, free inquiry lessons utilizing flipped learning with smart devices caused an effectiveness on students' interests.

멀티미디어 제작 실습에서의 촉각장치 활용에 관한 연구 (Utilizing a Haptic Display in Multimedia Education)

  • In this paper, utilizing a haptic display for 3D modeling practice is proposed. A haptic display called PHANTOM Omni providing 3D position as well as touch feeling is used to investigate how effectively the proposed practice works compared to the conventional ones for 3D modeling. Experimental results showed the proposed practice can provide positive effect for 3D modeling: improving the task completion time and lowering task workload, thus increasing the usability.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of orthopedic forces on the craniofacial complex utilizing the three kinds of the head gear. (high pull head gear, straight pull head gear, cervical pull head gear) For this study, the teeth and alveolar bone and palate were reproduced from birefringent materials and other parts of craniofacial complex were coated with birefringent material on the model. The effect of orthopedic forces on the craniofacial complex was analyzed by photoelastic method using transmission polariscope and reflection polariscope. The results were as follows. 1. The cervical pull head gear had the greatest tipping effect on the maxillary molars and high pull head gear had the least tipping effect. 2. In areas stressed, the cervical pull head gear stressed the greatest degree. 3. Only cervical pull head gear produced stress at the zygomaticofrontal suture and the posterior region of palate. 4. The straight pull head gear and high pull head gear produced stress at just inferior to the anterior nasal spine. 5. The cervical pull head gear and straight pull head gear produced tensile stress at the fronto-maxillary suture. 6. The pterygoid plates of the sphenoid bone, the zygomatic arches, the junction of the maxilla with the lacrimal and ethmoid bone, and the maxillary molars were affected by three types of head gear.

Differential Response of Etiolated Pea Seedlings to Inoculation with Rhizobacteria Capable of Utilizing 1-Aminocydopropane-1-Carboxylate or L-Methionine

  • The majority of soil microorganisms can derive ethylene from L-methionine (L-MET), while some rhizobacteria can hydrolyze 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylate (ACC) due to their ACC-deaminase activity. In this study, three strains having either ACC-deaminase activity (Pseudomonas putida biotype A, $A_7$), or the ability to produce ethylene from L-MET (Acinetobacter calcoaceticus, $M_9$) or both (Pseudomonas fluorescens, $AM_3$) were used for inoculation. The highly ethylene specific bioassay of a classical 'triple' response in pea seedlings was used to investigate the effect of the inoculation with the rhizobacteria in the presence of 10 mM ACC or L-MET. The exogenous application of ACC had a concentration-dependent effect on the etiolated pea seedlings in creating the classical 'triple' response. The inoculation with P. putida diluted the effect of ACC, which was most likely due to its ACC-deaminase activity. Similarly, the application of $Co^{2+}$ reduced the ACC-imposed effect on etiolated pea seedlings. In contrast, the inoculation of A. calcoaceticus or P. fluorescens in the presence of L-MET caused a stronger classical 'triple' response in etiolated pea seedlings; most likely by producing ethylene from L-MET. This is the first study, to our knowledge, reporting on the comparative effect of rhizobacteria capable of utilizing ACC vs L-MET on etiolated pea seedlings.

전래동화를 활용한 교육적 개입이 유아의 창의성과 친사회적 행동에 미치는 효과 (Educational Intervention Utilizing Fairy Tales : Effects of on Creativity and Pro-social Behaviors in Early Childhood)

  • This study investigated the effect of educational intervention utilizing fairy tales on young children's creativity and pro-social behaviors. Participants were 40 five-year-old young children. Fairy tale books were read to the experimental group and were adapted for various educational intervention activities but the control group participated only in standard child care center themes without educational interventions. Results showed significant differences between experimental and control groups in creativity and pro-social behavior. Findings confirmed that educational intervention utilizing fairy tales is an effective means for enhancing creativity and pro-social behavior in young children.
