  • This paper compare the operation characteristic and optimal design of Photovoltaic system by computer simulation. The operation characteristic of Photovoltaic system are evaluated and analyzed considering system parameters of specifications, installations, inclination, azimuth and surrounding conditions etc. From the basis of these results, this study will intend to develop an evaluation, analysis tool and construct database for optimal design of PV system.

  • This paper describes a new inverter active inverter between a photovoltaic(PV) array and single-phase utility that avoid the bulky input(60Hz) transformer on the AC side. The interface employs a pwm boost converter on the DC side followed by a pwm boost converter on the DC side followed by a pwm current-forced single-phase rectifier for injecting the power from the PV array into the mains. The current waveform at the AC side remains sinusoidal and exactly in phase at all time. The circuit also has the advantage of requiring fewer switching device than high-frequency link system. This paper describes modeling of PV array and new system topology. Simulation results on the performance of the connection are also presented.

  • This paper presents a utility interactive photovoltaic generation system with the angle of inclination and direction. This paper summarizes the results of these efforts by offering a snapshot of the configuration of photovoltaic in residential applications. The status of photovoltaic system components and interconnection and safety equipment will be summarized. This system is able to variation the angle of inclination and direction. Hence this paper discuss only results that might be useful for generation power.

  • Recently the problem of energy branch become worse increasingly. Therefore many researches about new energy source are processing in several places around are processing in several places around the world. Especially solar energy has many advantages like as purity and infinity. Photovoltaic(PV) system can be classified into two types : One is stand alone type and the other is utility interactive one. Utility interactive type PV system need some technology that Maximum peak power tracking(MPPT) and Anti-islanding and Active Power filter(APF). For APF operation dc-link voltage should be high to supply sufficient output current which needed for harmonic current compensation so usually DC-DC converter is used for boost. In this paper DC-DC converter for PV system and controller for dc-link voltage control are analyzed and designed.

  • The paper proposes a new protection algorithm for reliable operation of grid-interfaced PV system, which can flexibly interact with conventional protective schemes of power utility grid not only to prevent damages to utility or public persons and utility apparatus caused by malfunction or failure in distribution network protection system, but also to protect a PV system itself from faults or abnormal conditions of the network. The proposed algorithm is based on reclosing characteristics of the distribution system. As a network fault occurs, the new scheme determines whether it is momentary or permanent and responds in a pre-programmed way to the fault. For permanent outage, the proposed algorithm shuts down inverter's operations but monitoring system voltage and frequency at the point of common coupling with grid. When it comes to the momentary outage, Inverter starts stand-by operation mode so that it can be automatically connected to the grid without start-up procedures as soon as the system voltage and frequency returns into the normal operation range. In order to investigate' and evaluate the PV system operation, simulation study based on PSCAD/EMTDC has been carried out to verify the performance of the proposed protection scheme.

  • This paper describes the UIPV(Utility Interactived Photovoltaic) system which can improve the peak-cut effect by adding energy storage device of batteries to the power converter. The proposed system has three possible operation modes depending on relative condition of PV output, which can have the power shaping function covering the peak power for 3 hours. A new power circuit and application algorithm has been applied to UIPV system which is based on working PV system during 3-hour peak time. The energy relationship by the proposed system is analyzed theoretically and experimentally. Also the proposed system is evaluated at the viewpoint of cost and total spacing, which enables the proposed UIPV system to have the reduction of the peak power demand and hence to improve.

  • Today, the need for alternative energy has increased due to the global environmental problems and energy depletion. In order to solve a global environmental matter and an energy issue simultaneously, the application of the renewable energies in building has been constantly demanded. therefore, we must develop new energy resources that are abundant and provide substitutes for fossil fuels and we must study the application method of the renewable energies in building. Among renewable energies, the solar energy(photovoltaic system) is clean, inexhaustible, and available everywhere in the world and is judged to have the application possibility in building. Daegu city has a plan of putting a photovoltaic system on large buildings. For instance, EXCO, exhibition and convention building, and dormitory in Kyungpook National University, Dongho elementary school, Osan building in Keimyung University, Young korea academy in Daegu, are on the process of having a photovoltaic system. Therefore a study on the performance of photovoltaic system is important for the system design and maintenance. this paper describes the first invest cost, and performance test of the 95kW utility-interactive photovoltaic power system.

  • The paper proposes the solar photovoltaic power generation system method for photovoltaic system to solve the power shortage due the sudden power demand. So that supplied electric power to system at appearance during surplus electric power minute and unit moment link driving with common use system is available, digital PLL circuit system voltage through composition and phase of solar photovoltatic power generation system to do synchronization do. Feed forward controller was applied to get fast current response Solar cell that is changed by solar radiation always kept the maximum output when it used Step up chopper. The dynamic character had checked through simulation used Matlab Sumulink and confirmed through an experiment.

  • Since the residential load is an AC load and the output of solar cell is a DC power, the photovoltaic system needs the DC/AC converter to utilize solar cell. In case of driving to interact with utility line, in order to operate at unity power factor, converter must provide the sinusoidal wave current and voltage with same phase of utility line. Since output of solar cell is greatly fluctuated by insolation, it is necessary that the operation of solar cell output in the range of the vicinity of maximum power point. In this paper, DC/AC converter is three phase PWM converter with smoothing reactor. And then, feedforward control used to obtain a superior characteristic for current control and digital PLL circuit used to detect the phase of utility line.
