The in vitro antibody discovery technologies revolutionized the generation of target-specific antibodies that traditionally relied on the humoral response of immunized animals. An antibody library, a large collection of diverse, pre-constructed antibodies, can be rapidly screened using in vitro display technologies such as phage display. One of the keys to successful in vitro antibody discovery is the quality of the library diversity. Antibody diversity can be obtained either from natural B-cell sources or by the synthetic methods that combinatorially generate random nucleotide sequences. While the functionality of a natural antibody library depends largely upon the library size, various other factors can affect the quality of a synthetic antibody library, making the design and construction of synthetic antibody libraries complicated and challenging. In this review, we present various library designs and diversification methods for synthetic antibody library. From simple degenerate oligonucleotide synthesis to trinucleotide synthesis to physicochemically optimized library design, the synthetic approach is evolving beyond the simple emulation of natural antibodies, into a highly sophisticated method that is capable of producing high quality antibodies suitable for therapeutic, diagnostic, and other demanding applications. 본 연구는 대학 도서관의 서비스 품질 측정을 통한 이용자 만족과 재이용의도에 미치는 영향을 분석함으로서 대학도서관의 서비스 품질의 향상 방안에 대해 모색해 보고자 시행되었다. 이를 위해 LibQUAL+에서 사용된 척도를 대상으로 대학 도서관의 서비스 품질에 대해 측정해 보고, 측정된 결과를 토대로 이용자 만족과 재이용 의도에 미치는 영향에 대해 구조방정식(SEM)모형을 통해 분석하였다. 그 결과를 종합해 보면 정보통제, 도서관 장소, 서비스 영향력 순으로 대학 도서관의 서비스 품질에 많은 영향력을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 대학 도서관이 서비스 품질을 향상시키기 위해서는 정보통제, 도서관 장소, 서비스 영향력 순으로 우선순위를 두어 서비스 품질을 개선시켜야 할 것이다.

The purpose of this study is to analyze Alva Aalto's libraries for understanding his efficient induction of natural light. To fulfill this purpose, Alvar Aalto's thought about library and natural light are examined through his working years and building types. The comparison of his libraries on usage of natural light shows different ways of natural light induction based on different locations and programs of libraries. Similarities and differences of Alvar Aalto's library architecture have strong relationship to the usage of natural light in libraries because Alvar Aalto himself regard reading as the core function of library and the efficient use of natural light is the main key of reading. In his natural light planning, regional characteristics including environmental factors and programmatic differences act as a basic standard for natural light plan. Especially, altitude of sun and its path, seasonal features affect the induction way of natural light. While conical skylights used at Viipuri library shows the characteristics of universality in Modernism architecture, later libraries presents not only various kinds of pan-shape plan but different ways of inducing natural light in according to appropriate function. From conical skylight to monitor with curved reflection wall make it possible shed diffused light to reading space and this affects to form Alvar Aalto's organic architecture. As a result, using natural light in Alvar Aalto's library architecture act as the core of forming library concepts and their development.

본 연구는 이용자 중심의 도서관장애인서비스 품질요인을 실증적으로 고찰하고자 하였다. 품질요인의 실증적인 고찰을 위해 기존 도서관서비스의 품질 측정도구와 장애인서비스 기준 및 지침을 분석하여 총 9개의 품질요인을 도출하였으며, 이 요인을 활용하여 설문조사와 사례의 질적 평가가 이루어졌다. 조사 결과, 공공도서관 장애인서비스에서 가장 핵심적이며, 또한 상대적으로 취약한 품질요인은 시설, 장서, 직원 등 기본적인 도서관 자원의 영역으로 나타났다. 또한 도서관장애인서비스 우수사례를 분석한 결과 독서문화프로그램과 정보서비스 품질요인에 강조를 두고 있음이 조사되었다.

This study purposed to discover whether or not academic libraries reflect these changing roles. We selected K University as the research target and surveyed user satisfaction of materials, staff services, facilities, electronic devices, media, and so on. The research findings are as follows: 1) the frequency of library visits of University K was on the high side, 2) the primary purpose of using the academic library was associated with learning or reading, therefore, the most used library spaces were related to that, 3) the most used library materials were 'general books', the most unused were 'reference books', 4) the most preferred way to obtain needed materials when failing to find wanted materials was 'Contact librarian'. A similar phenomenon occurred in terms of facility use, 5) university K's users were usually satisfied with the loan policy, 6) the rate of users who don't know whether there is user education was very high, the rate of users who have no experience with user education was extremely low. These research findings can be referenced by library management to improve libraries' service quality and take advantage of complex spatial configurations.

최근 다양한 방법들이 공공도서관 가치 측정에 적용되고 있다. 이 연구에서는 공공도서관 가치 측정 방법을 소비자 잉여와 조건부 가치측정법을 중심으로 분석하였다. 또한 이를 이용해 공공도서관이 개인에게 미치는 직접적인 경제적 가치를 측정하였다. 84%의 이용자들은 공공도서관이 개인의 생활에 영향을 미치고 있다고 하였으며 한 사람이 도서관 이용을 위해 월 8,270원의 금액을 지불할 의향을 보였다. 도서 대출을 위해서는 1권에 1,470원의 금액을 지불할 의사를 나타냈다. 이를 토대로 추정된 전체 도서관에 대한 경제적 가치는 1/3배, 도서 대출에 대한 개별 서비스의 경제적 가치는 3배로 분석되어 측정 대상에 따라 큰 차이를 나타냈다.

본 연구는 공공도서관에서 가장 적은 비율을 차지하는 이용자층인 시니어를 대상으로, K-LAS를 이용하여 도서관불안을 측정하였다. 측정결과 전체적인 도서관불안 점수는 2.95점으로 선행연구에서 측정된 대학생과 지역주민의 불안 점수보다 높은 것으로 나타났으며, '디지털정보' 요소의 불안 점수가 가장 높은 것으로 분석되었다. 또한 연령이 높을수록, 학력이 낮을수록 도서관불안 점수가 높은 것으로 측정되었으며, 도서관 이용목적이 문화강좌 참여인 시니어와 도서관 방문 빈도가 낮은 시니어일수록 도서관불안이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이와 같은 분석결과를 토대로 시니어의 도서관불안을 해소하기 위한 방안을 제시하였다.

Nowadays, the growth rate of organisational politics in the library system is a cause of concern for library and information professionals. This has negatively impacted service delivery, most especially in public uni- versity libraries. This study examined the effect of organisational politics on job impetus among library personnel in selected public universities in South-west Nigeria. Three federal and three state universities were purposively selected such that one university was selected in each of the six states in South-west Nigeria. Total enumeration was used for all 187 library personnel in the six universities investigated. Using a descriptive survey of correlational type, a structured questionnaire was used to elicit information from respondents through survey monkey. Of 187 copies administered, 143, representing 76.5%, were retrieved and used for analysis. The results revealed a high level of organisational politics with low impetus. A strong inverse relationship was established between organisational politics and job impetus among library personnel in selected public universities in South-west Nigeria. Based on these, recommendations were made that Library personnel be encouraged to focus on their job specifications and limit organisational politics adhering to rules and regulations in the library and code of conduct for library staff.

This study investigated the awareness and utilisation of library software by undergraduate students in universities in South-west Nigeria. The descriptive research design of the ex post facto was adopted using a sample of 1,527 selected from the total population of 239,048 undergraduate students in the universities. A questionnaire was used to collect the data. The finding of the study revealed that the extent of utilisation of library software by undergraduate students was high. Also, the majority of undergraduate students utilised library software in the university libraries between two to three times a week. Similarly, the findings show that awareness had an influence on the utilisation of library software by undergraduate students in the universities (r = 0.563, N = 1333, P < 0.05). The study concluded that awareness influenced the utilisation of library software by undergraduate students in universities. The study, therefore, recommends that the importance of the awareness of library software should be emphasized in the library to enhance its utilisation by the students in the university libraries.

본 연구는 유비쿼터스 도서관의 실체를 파악하기 위한 연구이다. 이를 위해서 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅과 유비쿼터스 도서관에 대한 개념적 정의와 함께 그 실태를 파악하기 위하여 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅에 기반한 유비쿼터스 도서관의 서비스 실태와 과제, 발전 전망 등에 대하여 논의하였다. 문헌연구와 주요 도서관의 홈페이지 내용 분석, 전문사서와의 인터뷰를 통해서 얻어진 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 유비쿼터스 도서관은 무선통신을 이용하여 소장 자료의 검색, 대출 및 반납, 참고질의, 공지사항 등의 서비스를 제공한다. 둘째, 모바일 도서관은 구현 기술의 표준화, 서비스의 단순성, 컨텐츠와 인터페이스의 문제가 제기된다. 셋째, RFID 도서관은 도서관리 프로그램과의 연계성, 시스템의 호환성 및 표준화, 시스템 도입에 따른 도서관 서비스 방식의 변화, 정보 보안과 개인 프라이버시, 시스템 장비의 가격 등이 문제가 된다. 넷째, 유비쿼터스 도서관이 발전하기 위해서는 기술의 통합 및 표준화와 함께 정보기술 인프라와 프로세스의 발전이 이루어져야 한다. 다섯째, 유비쿼터스 도서관의 정보서비스가 성공하기 위해서는 모바일 환경과 특성에 맞는 다양한 형태의 서비스 개발과 함께 개인별 맞춤 서비스가 제공되어야 한다.
