Under the background of Uses and Gratifications Theory, this study discusse the relationship between Douyin users' preference degree, use motivation, use satisfaction and attention intention. This study divides the content of Douyin video into 10 categories, selects the form of an online questionnaire survey, uses SPSS software to conduct quantitative analysis of 202 questionnaires after screening, and finally draws the following conclusions: (1) The content preference degree of Douyin short video (the high group and low group) is different in users' use motivation, users' satisfaction degree and users' attention intention. ALL results are within the range of statistical significance.(2) Douyin users' video content preference degree has a positive impact on users' use motivation, users' satisfaction degree, and users' attention intention. (3) Douyin users' motivation has a positive impact on users' satisfaction and user' attention intention. (4) Douyin users' satisfaction degree has a positive impact on users' attention intention. Based on the research results, we suggest that Douyin platform pushes videos according to users' preferences. In addition, as the preference degree has an impact on users' motivation, satisfaction degree and attention intention of using the platform, it is important that the platform's focus should to pay attention to the preference degree of users. Collecting users' preferences at the early stage of users' entering the platform is a good way to learn from, and doing a good job of big data collection and management in the later operation.

  • Social networking services (SNS) have become a significant platform for Internet users to obtain knowledge and information. Users can share messages mutually via this platform. This kind of sharing enables users to exchange and gain useful information. However, in recent years, the crisis of stickiness has appeared in SNS, calling attention to the social network industry. Relevant professionals explain that the interest of users in sharing knowledge on SNS websites and applications may gradually decrease, eventually leading to users giving it because the platforms utilize simple and uninteresting methods to attract active participation from users. However, factors affecting the knowledge sharing on SNS websites and applications should be identified clearly through studies. Sina Weibo is one of the largest SNS platforms in the world, and studies on the factors affecting knowledge sharing of users could be valuable in addressing this issue. This paper establishes the theoretical analysis model of knowledge sharing in SNS sites and applications, analyzes the factors affecting knowledge sharing on these sites, and proposes the corresponding strategies to address the issues. Using questionnaire surveys on Sina Weibo users, this article will discuss the factors affecting knowledge sharing, and analyze these factors on SNS as well as improve the stickiness of users to achieve the aim of SNS platforms enabling the expansion of the range of users. The study will discuss theoretical foundations and the hypotheses that arise. The method of study will also be discussed. The study concludes with theoretical implications, practical implications, limitations, and future research opportunities. The results of this study could aid researchers in understanding the underlying reasons for social network activities as well as for SNS developers in improving SNS services.

  • This study is about the satisfaction and the usage of users' manual for mobile phones with multi-functions. The users' manual is redesigned by including ergonomic factors verified through survey. This paper is to propose a redesigned users' manual which is more readable and understandable than original users' manuals. The degree of improvement is measured by the usability evaluation. There are significant differences(p<0.05) in the number of functional description original users' manuals. And the degree of users' satisfaction with the description of Crystal Display) are significant diffenences among the original users' manuals. In the as of description, the significant differences are partially found. The users' manual is re arranging the explanations of functions compactly in a table form, and reducing the cl has also $3cm^*2cm$ LCD figures to facilitate the understanding. The usability evaluation users' satisfaction and understanding for the redesigned users' manual are higher than original users' manuals.

  • Purpose - This study's objective is to analyze the content of the communications between users and producers based on the construal level theory. User generated content refers to content created in an online-based service where users and producers communicate interactively with each other. In a user generated content platform, the messages sent and received between the many players, the users and producers who use the content, may be analyzed at the psychological level based on construal level theory. Research design, data, and methodology - This study gathered user and producer participation through a snow-bowling sampling method. The data analyzed includes 125 video clips and 2,912 comments. The period of the data collection was from September 2014 to December 2014. The collected data was analyzed using a t-test and two-way ANOVA. Results - This study obtained the following research results. First, users who were a short social distance from producers responded to user participatory activities stated in concrete language rather than abstract language. In contrast, users who were at a longer social distance from producers tended to respond to the content requesting user participation through abstract language. Second, if users and producers were at a short social distance from each other, user preference increased more when a producer response to user participation was expressed concretely rather than when it was expressed abstractly. In contrast, if the users were at a longer social distance, users' preferences increased more when producer response was expressed abstractly rather than when it was expressed concretely. Conclusion - This study found that the effect of suitability, in which the social distance and the content were in congruence at the construal level, could be observed. Therefore, based on this, academic and practical implications were drawn. The three main insights of the study are as follows. First, firms can use psychological factors to analyze the message content of users in their distribution platforms. This study reveals managerial implications for marketing managers who want to take make use of this analysis of user and producer communications. This study indicates that the main factors include the concrete and abstract scores and social distance between users and producers. Second, we also provide the strategic guidelines to maximizing user preferences and other outcomes. The main dependent variable in this study is the user preference shift; the variable increases through the congruence effect; and the construal level is determined by the social distance between the users and producers and the type of producer response. The outcomes here from users can be utilized to develop several systemic strategies. One process to use the outcomes could be: (1) firms could measure the users and producers social distance; (2) calculate the concreteness or abstractness of the messages; and, (3) predict the user preference outcomes by the congruence between user and producer social distance and the abstractness or concreteness of the message content.

  • Nowadays, smartphones have become a portable multimedia computer because of a variety of useful applications in our daily lives, which can be downloaded and installed easily in smartphones. Despite of the fact that, however in the IS literature there has been little research on smartphone applications' user interface design. Specifically, there has been little understanding about smartphone users' cognitive functions as a mediating variable in the relationship between the user interface design of smartphone applications and users' work performance with the applications. Thus, the research aims of this study are to examine 1) the effects of the user interface design attributes including simplicity, consistency, and metaphor on the compliance with or the extension of users' mental models representing users' cognitive functions, and 2) the effects of the users' cognitive functions on their work performance with the applications. A survey was conducted and Structural Equation Modeling(SEM) was employed to analyze the data. The results of this study showed that two of the user interface design attributes, simplicity and consistency, strongly affected users' cognitive functions. In addition, users' cognitive functions significantly influenced users' work performance. However, there was no relationship between the metaphors in the user interfaces of smartphone applications and the compliance with users' mental model. This study contributed theoretically not only to explore users' mental models that are rarely investigated in the IS field, but also to add some findings related to users' cognitive functions to the IS literature. This study also can help practitioners to develop more user friendly user interfaces of smartphone applications by suggesting the design attributes, such as simplicity, consistency, and metaphor.

  • Nowadays many Internet users have their own homepages and blogs on the Internet. Developers and designers offer a lot of options to users to increase their satisfaction. Do users prefer a lot of options? This study shows that users may prefer simple web-sites to complex web-sites. Moreover, users' attitudes can be affected by individual characteristics users have. This study focuses on one of the individual differences, computer anxiety. As a result, users who have high computer anxiety had more negative attitudes to web-sites than users having low computer anxiety had. This result emphasizes the importance of understanding users when designing interfaces.
