  • The recent Web service field emerges as the fastest growing IT paradigm as a result of the increasing interest in SOA (Services-Oriented Architecture) and the expansion of B2B market. With an increasing number of Web service that provide similar features, it becomes more important to provide the most appropriate service for the user's request. A service user in general requires the quality information of Web service when selecting a service among a number of similar Web services. Yet, finding a service through UDDI (Universal Description, Discovery and Integration) does not consider the non-functional aspects of users because it is only based on the functional aspects. That is, the quality, non-functional aspect will be an important factor for the mutual success of the user and provider. Using 3 factors in the Qos factors of the existing studies: the execution cost, reliability, and the quality level, the QoS of Web service is saved and the factors for the QoS are recorded in order to consider non-functional factors when selecting a Web service in this study. The Quality Broker determines the rank and shows the desired result of the service for users. The Quality Broker suggested in this thesis can be used to select a Web Service that considers the user-oriented and non-functional factors.

  • The use of database system in application increases day by day. This brought out the DBMS interconnection access problem with rapid increase of the user. To solve these database connection problem, database connection pool has been presented. However, there is much to be desired on user's interconnection access. To improve previous connection pool architecture, we have designed the sub connection pool besides main connection pool in this paper. We defined connection pool broker to manage both main and sub connection pool connection. When main connection pool reached its limitation, connection pool broker transfers a connection from a main connection pool to a sub connection pool. When the interconnection access user increased rapidly, we have proved that the suggested sub pool architecture is more effective on response time by comparing it with other existing DBMS connection pool architectures using simulation.

  • Semantic service can be defined as the service providing search API or reasoning API based on ontology and Web Services. It performs a pre-defined task by exploiting URI, classes, and properties. This study introduces a semantic service composition method based on a semantic broker referring ontology and management information of semantic services stored in a semantic service manager with requirements of the user. The requirements consist of input instances, an output class, a visualization type, semantic service names, and property names. This composition method provides dynamically generated semantic service pipelines including composit semantic services. The user can execute the pipelines provided by the semantic broker to find a meaningful semantic pipeline. After all, this study contributes to develop a system supporting human service planners who want to find composit semantic services among distributed semantic services.

  • Semantically-operated services, which is different from Web services or semantic Web services with semantic markup, can be defined as the services providing search function or reasoning function using ontologies. It performs a pre-defined task by exploiting URI, ontology classes, and ontology properties. This study introduces a method for pipelining semantically-operated services based on a semantic broker which refers to ontologies and service description stored in a service manager and invokes by user constraints. The constraints consist of input instances, an output class, a visualization type, service names, and properties. This method provides automatically-generated service pipelines including composit services and a simple workflow to the user. The pipelines provided by the semantic broker can be executed in a fully-automatic manner to find a set of meaningful semantic pipelines. After all, this study would epochally contribute to develop a portal service by ways of supporting human service planners who want to find specific composit services pipelined from distributed semantically-operated services.

  • In this paper, we propose contents authoring, management, and distribution technologies where the contents registered in secure storage through a content acquisition and authoring tool can be used as a common experience in smartphones, smart pads, and PCs. Currently, many people are producing and consuming various types of contents in bulk, and it is expected that real-time contents and old contents coexist as IoT(Internet of Things) technology is commonly deployed in the future. Therefore, we need to develop a differentiated service that can compete with global services in contents authoring and collaboration systems to create new markets. Accordingly, we implemented an authoring service platform to occupy cloud markets with high quality contents produced through collaboration.

  • In this paper, we propose a method to reduce mobile social network services (SNSs) traffic using a mobile integrated SNS gateway (MISG) to improve network communication performance between the mobile client and SNS servers. The gateway connects the client and SNS servers using the contents adapter and the web service adapter and helps to improve communication performance using its cache engine. An integrated SNS application, the user's client, communicates with the gateway server using integrated SNS protocol. In addition, the gateway can alert the client to new SNS contents because of the broker server implemented by the message queuing telemetry transport protocol. We design and develop the modules of the gateway server and the integrated SNS application. We then measure the performance of MISG in terms of content response time and describe the result of the experiment.
