Design of a Personalized Web Mining System Using a Sequence Association Rule (스퀀스 연관규칙을 이용한 개인화 웹 마이닝 설계)

  • Recently e-commerce trade on the web has grown rapidly in scale and complexity, just as web site designs and web servers have become more complicated. In view of these complexities, it is obviously difficult to analyse web user's data since they web users employ so many different web paths. The existing association rule investigation algorithms identify all items with a high correlation. However even though users often only want to find items in which they have interest, it is still difficult to find the rules they want out of all of the many association rules found by existing algorithms. In this paper, we propose a system linking each node with the sequence association rule, linking all routes after finding a path corresponding to a user with the association rule-one of the data mining techniques which identify user patterns in web user paths. The suggested system helps us construct individualized or customer-subdivided sites using the sequence association rule in order to harmonize the paths of web users with user characters.

  • In this paper, we propose RFID network agent based user mobility support mechanism for secure information transmissions. When a user with RFID tag who enjoys service moves to different attachment points, the user mobility is supported to provide continuously service and the information can be securely transmitted. Although there is an existing study for providing user mobility, it has a problem which the handover latency time is long. To settle this problem, we present a scheme for minimizing handover latency time and compare handover latency time of existing and proposed scheme. We confirm that proposed mechanism has low latency time than existing mechanism by mathematical analysis using the queuing theory and show that proposed mechanism is more superior to the existing mechanism.

  • This paper proposes a local scheduling method based on user pattern for Volunteer computing project, Korea@Home. It enables Korea@Home participants to run the agent without disturbance. It is devised to prevent user's application from delay while running the agent and decreases the frequency of switching resource between the user and the agent. We analyze the user's patterns of donating computing resource with Korea@Home which is a representative volunteer computing project in Korea. It has contributed the computing power to several applications including climate prediction and virtual screening. It promotes the volunteers to participate continuously without disturbance and increases the potential computing power with non-disturbance scheduling based on user usage pattern for Volunteer Computing.

Exploring the Success Factors of the e-Learning Systems (e-Learning 시스템의 성공요인에 대한 탐색적 연구)

  • Information technology and the Internet have had a dramatic effect on education method and individual life. Universities and companies we making large investments in e-Learning applications but are hard to pressed to evaluate the success of their e-Learning systems. e-Learning can be seen as not only one of Internet based information systems which can provide education services but also one of teaching-teaming methods which can implement self-directed teaming. This paper tests the updated model of information system success proposed by Delone and McLean using a field study of a e-Learning. The five dimensions - information quality, system quality, service quality, user satisfaction, net benefit - of the updated model are parsimonious framework for organizing the e-learning success metrics identified in the literature. Questionaires are collected from 107 students who are enrolling a e-learning class using online survey. The model is tested using SPSS and LISREL. The results show that information quality and service quality are significant predictors of user satisfaction with the e-Learning system but system quality is not. Also user satisfaction is found to be a strong predictor of the learning performance. This strong association between user satisfaction and teaming performance suggests that user satisfaction may serve as a valid surrogate for teaming performance. Empirical testing of the updated DeLone & McLean model should therefore be extended to cover a wider variety of systems.

User Association and Base Station Sleep Management in Dense Heterogeneous Cellular Networks

  • Dense Heterogeneous Cellular Networks(HCNs) offer a promising approach to meet the target of 1000x increase in aggregate data rates in 5G wireless communication systems. However how to best utilize the available radio resources at densely deployed small cells remains an open problem as those small cells are typically unplanned. In this paper we focus on balancing loads across macro cells and small cells by offloading users to small cells, as well as dynamically switching off underutilized small cells. We propose a joint user association and base station(BS) sleep mangement(UA-BSM) scheme that proactively offloads users to a fraction of the densely deployed small cells. We propose a heuristic algorithm that iteratively solves the user association problem and puts BSs with low loads into sleep. An interference relation matrix(IRM) is constructed to help us identify the candidate BSs that can be put into sleep. User associations are then aggregated to selected small cells that remain active. Simulation results show that our proposed approach achieves load balancing across macro and small cells and reduces the number of active BSs. Numerical results show user signal to interference ratio(SINR) can be improved by small cell sleep control.

  • Snippet is a summaries information of representing web pages which search engine provides user. Snippet and page rank in search engine abundantly influence user for visiting web pages. User sometime visits the wrong page with respect to user intention when uses snippet. The snippet extraction method is difficult to accurate comprehending user intention. In order to solve above problem, this paper proposes a new snippet extraction method using fuzzy association and pseudo relevance feedback. The proposed method uses pseudo relevance feedback to expand the use's query. It uses the fuzzy association between the expanded query and the web pages to extract snippet to be well reflected semantic user's intention. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method can achieve better snippet extraction performance than the other methods.

An Empirical Analysis on the Service Quality and the User Satisfaction in e-Trade Portal Sites (전자무역 포탈사이트의 서비스품질과 이용자만족도에 관한 실증적 연구)

  • This paper examines the major determinants affecting the user satisfaction on e-Trade portal sites in small and medium-sized exporters. The development of our research model is based on the empirical studies on the service quality of information system, web sites or Internet shopping mall, and on the factors influencing the user satisfaction. With the help of a regression analysis and factor analysis, five hypotheses are derived and tested. The results from regression analysis suggest that the user satisfaction of e-Trade portal sites is affected by information characteristics and ease of use of e-Trade portal sites. In addition, the user satisfaction of e-Trade portal sites is enhanced by support for international trade. Our findings will be useful, especially for those who are planning to build user-oriented e-Trade portal sites.

A Study on the Success Factors of ERP Systems (ERP 시스템의 성공요인에 관한 연구)

  • The objective of this study is to analyze the relationship between the success factors(organizational agreement, task fitness, top management support, user involvement, and linkage between BPR and ERP systems) and the performance(user satisfaction) of ERP systems. The success factors of concern would show positive relationships with the user satisfaction. Data were collected from 57 firms that have installed ERP systems. The responding firms were asked to visit the website of the researcher for the questionnaire survey. The result showed a positive relationship between the organizational agreement and the user satisfaction. This study also found that the user involvement had a negative relationship with the user satisfaction. The findings suggest that the firms adopting ERP systems need to establish the organizational agreement on the ERP system development which would be the critical factor for the successful system. It is also suggested that the user involvement should be controlled for the successful ERP systems.

  • The purposes of this study were 1) to analyze the effect of the information quality of standard menu system of ERP on the user’s satisfaction 2) to analyze the effect of the information quality of standard menu system of ERP on the user’s performance. The questionnaires were distributed to 260 end users(dietitians, foodservice management managers) in charge of managing the institutional foodservice such as the office(government agencies, factories), schools(universities, middle and high school) and hospitals which were managed by contract foodservice management company “C” in Seoul and Kyunggi. The surveys were performed from July 26 to July 30, 2004. Two hundred and fifty questionnaires were responded(response rate : 96.2%). The statistical analysis was conducted by using SPSS Win(11.5). And the descriptive analysis, factor analysis, reliability test, pearson correlation and simple regression analysis were performed. The results showed that the information quality of standard menu system of ERP have a significant positive effect on the user’s satisfaction(p<0.001) and user’s performance(p<0.001). When constructing standard menu system on ERP in the contract foodservice management company, the information quality of standard menu system of ERP should be guaranteed in order to satisfy the end-user and to improve the user’s performance.

Exploration of User Experience Research Method with Big Data Analysis : Focusing on the Online Review Analysis of Echo (빅데이터 분석을 활용한 사용자 경험 평가 방법론 탐색 : 아마존 에코에 대한 온라인 리뷰 분석을 중심으로)

  • This study attempted to explore and examine a new user experience (UX) research method for IoT products which are becoming widely used but lack practical user research. While user experience research has been traditionally opted for survey or observation methods, this paper utilized big data analysis method for user online reviews on an intelligent agent IoT product, Amazon's Echo. The results of topic modelling analysis extracted user experience elements such as features, conversational interaction, and updates. In addition, regression analysis showed that the topic of updates was the most influential determinant of user satisfaction. The main implication of this study is the new introduction of big data analysis method into the user experience research for the intelligent agent IoT products.
