The Design and Implementation of Embark / Disembark Management System Based on User Terminal Tagging (사용자 단말 태깅 기반 승하선 관리시스템의 설계 및 구현)

  • In this paper, we describe about the user terminal tagging-based embarkation/disembarkation management system and embarkation/disembarkation management method using this system. The system authenticates the validity of the user and on whether to board on the ship by tagging the user's terminal which the boarding reservation was made by using the management terminal provided in the ship. The system identifies on whether the user disembark in the ship by tagging the user's terminal. In the event of ship accident, it is easy to figure out the user and manage the non-contact boarding and disembarking. Therefore, we design the embarkation/disembarkation management system based on user's terminal tagging on the terminal provided in the ship and embarkation/disembarkation management method using this system. User terminal tagging can solve the problem of manpower required for the management of embarkation and disembarkation, the problem of requiring time to confirm the match between the reservation and the passenger, and the problem of increase of the possibility on the spread of infectious diseases due to face-to-face contact.

Recommendation Method for Social Service in Ubiquitous Environment

  • Recent development of information technologies produces a lot of community services. Social Network Service is one of the community services on the world wide webs. In the Social Network Service, a user can register other users as friends and enjoy communication through a virtual message. Previous researches show a few social service methods using manually generated tagging. However, the manual social tagging is not widely used in many social network services. Moreover, they do not consider ubiquitous computing environment. We propose a recommendation method for social service using contexts in ubiquitous environment. Our method scores documents based on context tags and social network services. Our social scoring model is computed by both a tagging score of a document and a tagging score of a document that was tagged by a user's friends.

A Study on Social Tagging for Promoting Users' Participation in Digital Archives (디지털 아카이브의 이용자 참여의 활성화를 위한 소셜 태깅 활용 방안 연구)

  • This study aims to present the framework for promoting active engagement of users in digital archives through social tagging. It analyzed the technological development involved with digital archives, and the user participation and engagement through social media. The analysis explored the aspects of social tagging in terms of communication, sharing and collaboration in digital archives. Based on the analysis and reviews, it developed the model of social tagging for user participation and interaction in digital archives. The study proposed the application of open and game platforms for promoting active engagement of users in digital archives through social tagging.

Learning Tagging Ontology from Large Tagging Data (대규모 태깅 데이터를 이용한 태깅 온톨로지 학습)

  • This paper presents a learning method of tagging ontology using large tagging data such as a folksonomy, which stands for classification structure informally created by the people. There is no common agreement about the semantics of a tagging, and most social web sites internally use different methods to represent tagging information, obstructing interoperability between sites and the automated processing by software agents. To solve this problem, we need a tagging ontology, defined by analyzing intrinsic attributes of a tagging. Through several machine learning for tagging data, tag groups and similar user groups are extracted, and then used to learn the tagging ontology. A recommender system adopting the tagging ontology is also suggested as an applying field.

  • The use of tagging to describes web documents in the form of keyword has experienced rising popularity among various web services. Tagging also plays an important role in collaborative bookmarking services which can be regarded as an online favorite bookmark service. Tags which are created by users make it easier to search other users' bookmarks as well as user's own bookmarks. In this paper we analyze usage patterns of collaborative tagging for exploring factors influencing the number of tags in web documents and users. We discovered that user's characteristics have more effect on the tags than the web documents' characteristics. Moreover, leading users contribute to make a variety of tag than following users. Our study implies that more knowledge can be created through the incentives for leading user in order to improve the service quality of tagging service.

  • In this paper, we propose a system that automatically assigns user's experience-based emotion tags from wearable sensor data collected in real life. Four types of emotional tags are defined considering the user's own emotions and the information which the user sees and listens to. Based on the collected wearable sensor data from multiple sensors, we have trained a machine learning-based tagging system that combines the known auxiliary tools from the existing affective computing research and assigns emotional tags. In order to show the usefulness of this multi-modality-based emotion tagging system, quantitative and qualitative comparison with the existing single-modality-based emotion recognition approach are performed.

  • We can constantly gather personal life log from developed mobile device. However, gathered personal life log in mobile environment have a large amount log and uncertainty such as uncertainty of mobile environment, limited capacity and battery of mobile device. Tagging task using a landmark such as a key word should be required to overcome the above problem and to manage personal life log. In this paper, we propose new tagging method and a life log tagging interface using high level context recognizer based on probability. The new tagging method extract high level context such as landmark of life log using recognizer which is modeled from bayesian network and recommend recognized high level context to user using tagging interface. Finally user can directly do tagging task to life log. This task is a special feature in our process. As the result of experiments in task support level which include usability, level of a goal, function and leading, we achieved a feeling of satisfaction of 81%.

  • Social Web is turning current Web into social platform for knowing people and sharing information. This paper takes major social tagging systems as examples, namely delicious, flickr and youtube, to analyze the social phenomena in the Social Web in order to identify the way of mediating and linking social data. A simple Tag Ontology (TO) is proposed to integrate different social tagging data and mediate and link with other related social metadata. Through several machine learning for tagging data, tag groups and similar user groups are extracted, and then used to learn the tagging ontology. A recommender system adopting the tag ontology is also suggested as an applying field.

  • This study aims to answer whether social tagging through user collaboration could be utilized for the creation of digital knowledge of the web, and whether we could verify the quality and efficacy of social tagging to obtain benefits from it. In particular, this paper examines the inter-indexer consistency of social tagging in comparison to professional indexing. It employs two different similarity measures, both of which are based on the Vector Space Model to deal with numerous indexers. It contributes to the utilization of social tagging in the organization of the web, and encourages to adopt social knowledge in developing suitable vocabularies for resources newly generated in the digital library environment. Furthermore, the comparative analysis with two different measures produced more credible results by illustrating a similar pattern of indexing tendency in both measures.

  • Traditional methods and materials used for Korean buildings need to be well organized and managed so that they can be utilized in modernization of old buildings. Supporting web-based management of information of Korean traditional building materials helps spread the related knowledge. This paper identifies the characteristics of traditional building materials data, and develops an information structure to represent the related information effectively. It also describes design decisions on web-based user interfaces to support flexible browsing and retrieval of the managed data. As the traditional building data are described by old domain-specific technical terms, utility of the developed service might be limited to those who are familiar with the terms. As an approach to tackle this problem, the proposed system supports user tagging by allowing users to classify the stored information using their own terms, and also to retrieve data using the user-supplied tags.
