Increasing the user's need in the building facilities, the architects, engineers, and building managers must consider the user's opinion when they plan and construct the buildings. When planning and managing of the buildings, accepting the user's opinion is desirable and indispensible to solve the Problems about the architectural facilities between suppliers and users. To supply the efficient working environments, use the check listing tools and operate the post occupancy evaluation. The real estate and development company is selected for the evaluation. It is renovated in 2000 to fit in its working environment. The process of the evaluation is proceeded both private and group working spaces and facility and management of the buildings with 10 categories. Following the result of Post occupancy evaluation, the users of the building are mostly satisfied with their working environments after the renovation. However, the categories in thermal environment and indoor air and supply for office work need to be improved in advance.

This study does a qualitative and quantitative analysis of how music by humming is being used by music educators in the classroom. Music by humming is part division of music information retrieval. In order to define what a music information retrieval system is first I need to define what it is. Berger and Lafferty (1999) define information retrieval as "someone doing a query to a retrieval system, a user begins with an information need. This need is an ideal document- perfect fit for the user, but almost certainly not present in the retrieval system's collection of documents. From this ideal document, the user selects a group of identifying terms. In the context of traditional IR, one could view this group of terms as akin to expanded query." Music Information Retrieval has its background in information systems, data mining, intelligent systems, library science, music history and music theory. Three rounds of surveys using question pro where completed. The study found that there were variances in knowledge, training and level of awareness of query by humming, music information retrieval systems. Those variance relationships where based on music specialty, level that they teach, and age of the respondents.

The purpose of this study is to suggest the modeling of ubiquitous environments according to the analysis of user's behaviors focused on the living area within the house. Recently, with appearing 'Ubiquitous environments', the applications of ubiquitous technologies on the our environment adopt a new paradigm. This new paradigm leads to the possibility of creating more intellectual dwelling environment according to user's behaviors. This paper suggests to change our dwelling by considering both engineering technology and the character of dwelling, because the house should provide causes humans with comfortability. Therefore, we need to understand user's behaviors in the dwelling, towards user friendly environment. Also, it very important for us to configure proper sensors and technologies by the priority based on user's behaviors. To sum up, this study is aimed to analyze user's behaviors and then, to suggest the guideline for users offering optimal ubiquitous environments.

Through this study, some considerations to be taken into account in order to construct the user model for the user friendly system which can provide each individuals user armed with varied intellectual level with the relevant information, can be summarized as follows : (1) The user' ability to use the system and users' subject knowledge, the distribution of the users' level knowledge should be considered for the decision of the typed of interaction between the users and the system. (2) the knowledge of the user models should include the following kinds of knowledge inharmony with one another, 1. Standard user knowledge which represents a general characteristic of user group, 2. individual user knowledge which represents an individual's unique characteristic, 3. Long-term user knowledge which represents the education level and subject background of users, 4. short-term user knowledge which represents the purpose of information science and information need by users (3) As knowledge generation technique, both the implicit method and explicit method should be a n.0, pplied, observation of the system during the interaction, and explicit method generates the knowledge by the user's answering the questions already made by the system. (4) The frame technique as the knowledge representation for the user-modelling in which user-knowledge is represented in a limited situation and in a qualitative aspects, can be recommended. The frame is adequated for the explanation of structured situation, and for the processing the present situation by inferring the previous experiences.

Digital Multimedia Broadcasting (DMB) is a digital radio transmission system for sending multimedia such as radio, TV, and data casting to mobile devices. Nowadays, DMB specifications are the major standard for digital broadcasting and have been establishing for bidirectional service using MPEG-4 system. But there has been only some simple demonstrated system for this bidirectional services. In this paper, we introduce bidirectional DMB data service system that provides the interaction between the user and DMB server without any additional equipment such as web server. The proposed bidirectional DMB system can capture and send user interaction information and response through the existing DMB transmission channel, finally update the original contents. The action event from the user is the most important thing in developing the bidirectional DMB system. Therefor, capturing the event data from the user is the first step we need to do for the bidirectional DMB service. In this paper, we propose an interaction manager module for the user events. This system will extract the user events and make a plan to update the original scene with the server's reaction information.

The objective of this study is to analyze the relationship between the success factors(organizational agreement, task fitness, top management support, user involvement, and linkage between BPR and ERP systems) and the performance(user satisfaction) of ERP systems. The success factors of concern would show positive relationships with the user satisfaction. Data were collected from 57 firms that have installed ERP systems. The responding firms were asked to visit the website of the researcher for the questionnaire survey. The result showed a positive relationship between the organizational agreement and the user satisfaction. This study also found that the user involvement had a negative relationship with the user satisfaction. The findings suggest that the firms adopting ERP systems need to establish the organizational agreement on the ERP system development which would be the critical factor for the successful system. It is also suggested that the user involvement should be controlled for the successful ERP systems.

Objective: This study presents the conceptual framework and the conceptual model to account for user experience by expanding the existing concepts of usability, in particular considering the user-interface environment in digital convergence. Background: To better understand a variety of users interacting with a converged product based on digital technologies, there seems to be a limit to consider the existing concepts of usability. All possible aspects of user's interaction with a product in a context of use need to be taken into consideration. Method: This study identifies the concept of user experience through a comprehensive literature review. Results: First, this study reviews the existing concepts of usability and user experience. And then this study describes four main components in the conceptual framework of user experience: user's internal states, user's external states, a product, and various outcomes, each of which encompasses distinct sub-components. The conceptual model of user experience accounts for how user's internal states change over time and for how different sub-components affect actual behavior of use. Conclusion: It is expected that these user experience concepts can be used in basic resources to better understand different behavioral characteristics of users and to better design interactive products in converged digital environments.

The objective of this study is to provide new direction on house design in consideration of the user's life pattern. To this end, pc usage status at home, demand for pc using space, and requirements for pc room interior were analyzed. A survey was taken by parents and the SPSS win.10 was applied for analysis. The survey was conducted for 2 months, starting May 2004 to see the computer usage at home, demand and satisfaction for the computer's room. The results of this study were as follows; The oldest son or daughter in a family was the main user of the computer, posting 71%. 42percent of respondents said they used the pc in their son's and daughter's room while 36% answered living room. It reflects that the whole family want to use the pc in their sharing room, or for their children's convenience. Currently, inconvenience of space-related constraints for using the pc was not that high, which possibly stems from a lack of awareness of inconvenience in using the pc. However, the need for furniture and space for refreshment was suggested. Through this study, it is expected that new housing designs need to be made to reflect these requirements into interior design and building plan for user's convenience.

오늘날 만성질환자에게 데이터를 제공해주고 관리하는 시스템의 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 그러나 대부분의 질병관리 시스템의 경우 사용자에게 광범위한 데이터를 제공하거나, 중요한 키워드 및 데이터를 제공해주지 않는 문제점이 존재하였다. 본 논문에서는 질병에 대한 데이터에 대해 R프로그래밍을 통해 분석하여 해당 질병에 가장 관련이 높은 키워드를 사용자에게 추천해준다. 이를 통해 사용자가 자신의 질병을 관리할 시 중요한 키워드들을 효율적으로 관리할 수 있는 빅 데이터 기반 만성질환 관리 시스템을 연구하였다. 제안하는 시스템을 활용하여 사용자는 불필요한 데이터나 키워드를 제외하고 필요로 하는 데이터와 키워드를 볼 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

As a neighboring country belonged to the same cultural sphere with the Northeast Asia, China is recently emerging as a center of the world's economy. The social transformations caused by the rapid economic growth are bringing changes in the Chinese housing culture and thus, it is considered that the identification of a user's need concerning a new housing space and social and cultural understanding on China are necessary. Accordingly, this research intended to conduct the basic research on the Chinese housing space design by observing the small apartment users in Shanghai area in terms of not only the tangible element of the residential space type but also the intangible elements such as lifestyle, values, behaviors, etc. The research range was limited to the kitchen area at the center of a house as a place where the exchanges among the family members are most frequently occur, and the research was carried out in the following methods. First, the effective user research method for the analysis of the Chinese small apartment kitchen users was studied through the literature investigation. Second, the 6 families of a research target were selected focused on the small apartments in Shanghai, China and the user research was performed using three methods of User observation, Video ethnography, and Contextual inquiry. Third, the research results were analyzed focused on the flow of human traffic in the kitchen area and user's behaviors. What were identified as a result take account of the human traffic movements in the kitchen areas around the sink-counter-cook top, cooking behaviors and meal areas outside of the kitchen. Through this, the need for the effective organization of the sink-counter-cook top, arrangement of meal area, and placement of storage by section for the kitchen space of China were drawn based on the understanding of the cooking process, and it was identified that such results require comprehensive understanding of Chinese housing culture.
