Study of Stock Information Applications' User Experience -Focused on Finance Expert Users of Kakao Stock and JeungGwon Tong- (주식 정보 애플리케이션 사용자 경험 연구 -카카오증권과 증권통의 금융 전문가 사용자 중심으로-)

  • Stock information applications allow users to look up and find current stock information whenever and wherever. This study researched what kind of user experience the finance experts get when using these applications and what they suggest. The research was conducted through an in-depth interview of 8 finance experts, who worked minimum of three years, and used both Kakao Stock and JeungGwon Tong, the most used stock information applications, for a minimum duration of six months. The results show the user experience of Kakao Stock rated a bit higher than JeungGwon Tong. Since the objective of such applications are to show stock informations, the experts all rated the pleasurable and meaningful aspects rather low. They suggested, the developers should provide a more advanced and accurate information. They also suggested user interest recognized content be presented along with more convenient user interface to elevate usability. Hopefully, this study becomes a base to further study of user experience of various on and offline stock information services and they become a reference to develop a service with great user experience.

A Study on Analysis of User Behavior and Needs for Efficient Use of a Home Smart Mirror (홈 스마트 미러의 효율적 활용을 위한 사용자 행태 및 니즈 분석 연구)

  • Rapid changes to the paradigm of smart media have created a communication environment through merging with various media such as IoT technology, which is internet of things. Among them, user' need for a start home, which is one of people living conditions, has been growing and values of the communication environment in a living space using a smart mirror have been growing. However, studies on figuring out behavior and analyzing needs of family members who actually use the living space are insufficient. This study is to draw the service system of the home smart mirror by analysis of behavior and needs of users of the living space. For a research method for analysis of behavior of family members, I wrote two kinds of user's experience maps, which are frequency of use of a quantitative space of a living space and space's important value scales by persona study and depth interview. Through this, applied spaces of the home smart mirror (living room, bathroom, powder room, dress room, porch, kitchen, room) and the types of user needs (type of providing information, entertainment type, control type, service type) have been drawn and statistical analysis methodology has been utilized for a research of user preferences in regard to correlation between living spaces and types of user needs based on a survey. As a result of analysis of ages and gender, types of user needs by space have been drawn and the service system of the home smart mirror has been drawn. It would be utilized as a basic material for various contents development and design using the smart mirror in the future.

  • Although the telecommunications service industry has become a basic infrastructure component of the information and communication technology (ICT) industry, it is now losing its reputation as a cash cow due to achieving a saturation of service subscribers, especially in South Korea. With the exception of improving network speeds, network operators are experiencing difficulties in creating new innovations. Therefore, new innovations for the telecommunications service industry should be identified in conjunction with government policies for industry promotion. To examine the innovative capabilities of a specific industry, innovation system theories were used as a framework for research. However, existing innovation systems are limited with regard to explaining the openness of relationships and user participation which are general properties of the ICT industry. Moreover, as sources of innovative activity, additional values such as financial support and collaboration are more appropriate. This study presents a new innovation system based on innovation values. We analyze the telecommunications service industry and prioritize the importance of telecommunication policies within South Korea. An in-depth interview with experts based on the innovation system framework is conducted first. Next, innovation factors derived from the interview are applied within an analytic hierarchy process (AHP), leading to a prioritization of innovation factors for the telecommunications service industry.

  • A well designed disabled home needs to consider various design principles and variables. It should consider not only physical accessibility but also psychological aspects. Previous research studies have shown that barrier-free/universal designs which were primarily focused on physical access and usage of facilities and building operations. This research paper will examine, a selection of refurbished disabled homes, introduced by the Korean Disabled People's Development Institutes in 2013. The plan samples are to be analyzed using the Visual Access and Exposure spatial analysis program coupled with supporting information extracted from consultations and feedback from experienced professional disabled home staff members. This research paper aims to propose the usage and viability of VAE Analysis in the design and planning of disabled home layouts. The purpose of this study is to specify the differences in visual spatial relationships between the plans before and after refurbishment in accordance to staff and user requirements. This will ensure a bettered environment for the users and ensuring an optimized of spatial programming and building operation and usage.

  • 새로운 휴대폰 기기가 하루가 다르게 개발되어 상품화 되는 가운데 사용자의 시각에 입각한 사용성 평가는 앞으로 새롭게 선보일 휴대폰 기기의 방향성을 제시해 줄 수 있는 중요한 척도이다. 특히 근 몇 년간 다양한 기능이 convergence 된 휴대폰들이 늘어남에 따라 사용자 관점에서의 평가 방법에 있어, 실제 사용자는 예측할 수 없고 셀 수 없는 다양한 상황과 환경 속에서 휴대폰 기기를 사용하게 된다는 사실을 주목해야 할 것이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 끊임없이 변화하는 휴대폰 기기로 인하여 실제 user 가 자신의 특성과 습관, 시시각각 다르게 처하는 환경과 함께 야기되는 휴대폰에 대한 use experience 를 수집하고 분석하는 적합한 방법론을 새로이 제시하고, 이를 사례 연구를 통하여 검증함으로써 사용자 경험을 수집하는데 유용한 새로운 방법론을 개발하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이러한 사용성 테스트의 새로운 분석 방법으로, 특정 휴대폰의 웹 리뷰사이트, 인터넷 동우회와 같은 온라인 커뮤니티상에서 테스트에 응할 여지가 있는 expert user 를 엄선하여 선정 하였으며, 그들에게 휴대폰을 사용하면서 겪게 되는 경험이나 문제점을 휴대폰의 어떠한 부분에서 언제, 어떠한 식으로 발생되었는지에 대하여 work book 의 형식을 통하여 기록하고 다시 그것을 바탕으로 In-depth interview 함으로써 사용자의 경험의 축적에 따라 사용성을 평가하는 프로세스를 새로이 개발하고 적용하였다.

A Study on the User Experience of Handmade Market Applications -Focused on Etsy and Idus- (핸드메이드 마켓 앱의 사용자 경험 연구 -Etsy와 idus를 중심으로-)

  • This study aims to evaluate the user experience of leading handmade product market service applications, Etsy and idus. A survey about the apps was developed based on Peter Morville's user experience factors. The survey was conducted with eleven users from their 20s to 50s. In addition, problems were discovered through an in-depth interview and the resulting user experience problems were analyzed according to the five levels of Jesse James Garrett's user experience element framework. Our primary results for both apps suggest applying a universally accepted visual interface to improve the user experience, providing brief text to improve readability, avoiding repetitive delivery of similar functions in different information structures, and applying design patterns that are considerate of customers' culture and country. This study provides meaningful data to elevate handmade product platforms into global platforms by analyzing and providing improvements to their shopping experiences.

  • This study is a user experience research on the current usage of TV multiview and evaluating the usability. From traditional TV viewing to connecting laptop or mobile devices, the scope of using TV has expanded and evolved to multipurpose. Utilizing the multiview feature offers new TV experiences, but research on its usability has not been actively conducted yet. In this research, a case study and survey were held prior to usability testing to identify user needs and behavior of TV multiview. After reviewing the results, we ran a task-based usability testing and in-depth interview. As a result, users preferred different ways of accessing and using multiview based on their situation, and the current user interface needed improvement for easier, intuitive use. This study is expected to contribute to the development of improving user experience in TV multiview.

  • The purpose of this study is to understand the quality of University library service and to propose analyzing method from user's perspective. For that, this study noted that 'the process' of using the university library service rather than 'what did they use' in the university library. In-depth interview data about User's experiences that they used university library drew service quality elements based on the method of grounded theory. Comparing the derived service quality elements with LibQual+ dimensions, the result of this study is as follows. (1) Service quality element related to the user's emotion and new user-friendly service customization were shown. (2) Substantial claims of users were analyzed more specifically by this study. It seeks ways to differentiate service quality factors by attributes and priority importance about service quality elements which was analyzed using KANO and AHP.

An User Experience of Proactive Intelligent Personal Assistant: Focusing on Google 'Nest Hub Max' (능동적 지능형 가상 비서의 사용자 경험 연구 : Google의 'Nest Hub Max'를 중심으로)

  • This is a qualitative study about Google 'Nest Hub Max' that displays proactive intelligent personal assistant. Following the step of grounded theory, an in-depth interview for 6 users who had used this device for a month was taken. 186 concepts were discovered, categorized as 11 top-categories and 24 sub-categories. Paradigm diagram, considering axis-coding, was made and it have been narrowed down to 'Usage patterns' of proactive IPA, considering selective coding aspects. 'Usage patterns' were divided to passive and active user. Thus, neither passive user nor active user was satisfied about device and proactive IPA. This study is meaningful that it constructed basic data about the user experience of proactive IPA on this device. It will support the device or service that consists proactive IPA in the future.

  • The goal of this study is finding flow-map in conversation what is going on user and embodied conversational agent by analysing that conversation. Specifically, this study not only find elements of conversation, but also draw out patterns of conversation can be exist for dialogue ability between user and Embodied conversational agent. To do this, we collect data through in-depth one to one interview, and then we analysis collected data to try to find out element of user-agent conversation based on qualitative research refer to the theory of conversation analytics and type of conversation. As a result, six flow map is deducted Especially, the irregular conversation is hard to find in human-human conversation, and the frequency is the most in data. In addition, when elements of interruption came out, be hostile to partner or correct the press conversation. This study can have positive effect to embodied conversation agent developer, user and service offerer because this study find the type of conversation through analysis that between embodied conversational agent and user.
