위치기반 푸쉬서비스 플랫폼 설계 및 구현 (Design and Implementation of a Location-Based Push-Service Platform)

  • 최근 이동전화, 와이브로, HSDPA 등 무선인터넷 기술이 발전하면서 이용자의 위치, 상황을 고려한 교통, 관광, 쇼핑 및 긴급구조 등의 맞춤형서비스들이 주목받고 있다. 이용자의 상황에 맞는 맞춤형서비스 제공을 위해서는 무선 단말기를 장착하고 이동하는 이동객체의 연속적으로 변화하는 위치 정보, 시간 정보, 그리고 속도 변화와 같은 동적인 특성 등을 종합적으로 고려해야 한다. 이 논문은 이동객체가 발생시키는 컨텍스트 처리를 위한 트리거의 유형을 정의하고 이러한 트리거를 처리하기 위한 방법들을 설계하고 이용자의 위치에 따라 정보를 제공하기 위한 이동객체의 컨텍스트 트리거를 포함하는 위치기반 푸쉬서비스 플랫폼을 제안한다. 제안된 시스템은 휴대폰 및 텔레매틱스 단말 내장형 GPS의 Ms-assisted 측위 모드 또는 Stand-alone 측위 모드를 기반으로 단말에서 이동객체 스트립 정보를 수집하고, 이용자 단말 에이전트를 통해 이용자의 컨텍스트를 추출하여 이를 서버에 전송하도록 분산 처리 기능을 갖는다.

  • IoT 환경에서는 정확한 정보의 전달을 위하여 사용자의 상황에 따라 수집된 정보를 추론하여 새로운 정보, 즉 상황 정보를 생성하는 것이 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 IoT 환경에서 센싱 되는 민감한 정보를 보호하기 위해 상황인식을 통한 정보의 접근제어 기법을 제안하고자 한다. 이는 사용자의 상황을 고려하여 접근을 허가하는 접근권한 관리에 중점을 두고 있으며 승인되지 않은 사용자가 네트워크에 저장되어있는 데이터에의 접근 제약(접근제어 정책)을 둔다. 이를 위해 기존에 연구된 CP-ABE 기반의 상황 정보 접근제어 기법에 대해 분석한 후, 상황 정보의 범위에 동적인 상황을 포함시켜, 확장된 다차원 상황 속성(Context Attribute)을 반영하는 접근제어 정책을 제안한다. 본 논문에서는 동적인 상황을 고려한 접근제어 정책을 IoT 센서퓨전 환경에 적합하도록 설계하였다. 따라서 기존의 연구와 비교해 데이터의 다양성 확보 및 정확한 정보의 수집이 가능하고, 기존 상황 속성의 확장이 가능하다는 장점을 갖는다.

홈 자동화를 위한 지능적인 상황인지 시스템 (Intelligent Context-Aware System for Home Automation)

  • 상황 인식을 통한 지능적인 시스템은 홈 자동화 서비스를 제공하기 위하여 매우 중요한 요소로서 강조된다. 본 논문에서 홈 자동화를 구현하기 위하여 홈 내부에서 일어나는 여러 가지 사건들을 사용자 각각에 대하여 다양한 장치를 이용하여 케이스 별로 수집하여 데이터를 저장하고, 케이스 별로 저장된 데이터를 트레이닝 데이터로 이용하여 신경회로망 알고리즘으로 학습을 시켜서 지능적인 홈 자동화 시스템을 구현한다. 이러한 지능적인 홈 자동화 시스템은 사용자에게 적절한 상황에 적절한 서비스를 스스로 판단하여 제공함으로서 거주자의 편의를 제공할 수 있다.

조직적 상황이 ERP시스템의 도입 성과에 미치는 영향 (The Impact of Organizational Context on the Performance of ERP Systems)

  • The ERP system comes to existence in the period of change. In other words, the ERP system is adopted to the company with BPR project. In general, the ERP system is introduced to companies as packages rather than in-housing systems. There are several researches in IS literatures which have a conclusion that organizational context affects the performance of ERP system. This study attempts to review the organizational context from the prospective of organizational structure and change management. Regarding the organizational structure, we choose some widely known variables such as the degree of formalization and centralization. For the analysis of change management, we set the variables, which are the most importantly considered, such as the power of CEO's promotion and user participation. The extent of customizing is introduced as moderating variables between the organizational context and the implementation performance. With collected data, we performed the reliability test, the factor analysis and the regression analysis. In summary, the introduction of an information system such as ERP system has a behavioral and organizational impact. The organizational change may breed resistance and opposition and can lead to the failure of the system. Therefore, implementation of the system requires careful change management, active involvement of users and high level of management support.

  • It has been argued that Enterprise systems (ES) implementations are overshadowed by a high failure rate despite their promised benefits. One of the commonly cited reasons for ES implementation failures in the context of mandatory use is end-user's unwillingness or sabotage to adopt or use systems. Considering that the appropriate management of expectations may play an important role in making positive behavior toward newly implemented systems, this study examines the effect of outcome expectations on the system use activity in the mandatory use context of information systems from the Social Cognitive Theory perspective. Structural equation model analysis using LISREL 8.7 provides significant support for the proposed relationships. The empirical results suggest that outcome expectations and user satisfaction have positive effects on system use activity conceptualized by immersion, reinvention, and learning. Theoretical and practical implications of the study shed some light on how to improve system use activity in the mandatory use context of information systems.

Understanding the Concept of User Experience Based on the Extended Concept of Usability

  • Objective: This study presents the conceptual framework and the conceptual model to account for user experience by expanding the existing concepts of usability, in particular considering the user-interface environment in digital convergence. Background: To better understand a variety of users interacting with a converged product based on digital technologies, there seems to be a limit to consider the existing concepts of usability. All possible aspects of user's interaction with a product in a context of use need to be taken into consideration. Method: This study identifies the concept of user experience through a comprehensive literature review. Results: First, this study reviews the existing concepts of usability and user experience. And then this study describes four main components in the conceptual framework of user experience: user's internal states, user's external states, a product, and various outcomes, each of which encompasses distinct sub-components. The conceptual model of user experience accounts for how user's internal states change over time and for how different sub-components affect actual behavior of use. Conclusion: It is expected that these user experience concepts can be used in basic resources to better understand different behavioral characteristics of users and to better design interactive products in converged digital environments.

  • 최근 주방의 역할은 이전의 생존 영위를 위한 공간으로부터, 현재의 생활과 문화를 보여주는 공간으로 발전하였다. 이러한 변화와 더불어, IoT 기술의 사용이 확산되고 있다. 그 결과로, 주방에서의 새로운 스마트기기의 발전과 보급이 이루어지고 있다. 때문에 이러한 스마트기기를 사용하기 위한 사용자 경험 또한 중요해지고 있다. 이는 맥락적 사용자 기반의 데이터를 통해 사용자와 컴퓨터간의 보다 자연스러우며 효율적인 상호작용을 기대할 수 있기 때문이다. 본 논문은 주방에서 사용하는 스마트기기의 사용자 인터페이스(user interface, UI)를 바탕으로 기기와 접촉을 하지 않는 자연스러운 사용자 인터페이스(natural user interface, NUI)를 고찰하고자 한다. 그 방법으로, 기기에 부착되어 있는 카메라를 이용하여 사용자의 손 제스처를 인식한 뒤 인식된 손의 모양을 인터페이스에 적용하는 영상 처리 기술을 활용하였으며 사용자의 맥락과 상황에 맞는 제스처를 제안하고자 하였다. 본 실험에 사용된 제스처의 기본방향은 직관성과 학습 용이성에 중점을 두었으며 기본적인 5개의 제스처를 분류하여 이를 인터페이스에 활용하였다.

다품종 자동차 부품관리를 위한 ubiWarehouse 시스템 (ubiWarehouse System for Management of Various Automobile Parts)

  • In this paper, we introduce an ubiWarehouse system for the management of automobile parts. Because automotive parts are very various in kinds according to companies, models and manufacture year, it's hard to find exactly the desired parts and to control goods in stock. To solve this problem, we propose the model of context recognizer in which context data are expressed in a systematic type of 5W1H. And initial context data are grouped and integrated, and some conflict context information is solved. Finally user's intention is interpreted and served. As a result, the proposed system can be used to enhance conveniency and correctness of the management of various kinds of part's.

인터넷 쇼핑몰 수용에 있어 사용자 능력의 조절효과 분석 (An Analysis of the Moderating Effects of User Ability on the Acceptance of an Internet Shopping Mall)

  • Due to the increasing and intensifying competition in the Internet shopping market, it has been recognized as very important to develop an effective policy and strategy for acquiring loyal customers. For this reason, web site designers need to know if a new Internet shopping mall(ISM) will be accepted. Researchers have been working on identifying factors for explaining and predicting user acceptance of an ISM. Some studies, however, revealed inconsistent findings on the antecedents of user acceptance of a website. Lack of consideration for individual differences in user ability is believed to be one of the key reasons for the mixed findings. The elaboration likelihood model (ELM) and several studies have suggested that individual differences in ability plays an moderating role on the relationship between the antecedents and user acceptance. Despite the critical role of user ability, little research has examined the role of user ability in the Internet shopping mall context. The purpose of this study is to develop a user acceptance model that consider the moderating role of user ability in the context of Internet shopping. This study was initiated to see the ability of the technology acceptance model(TAM) to explain the acceptance of a specific ISM. According to TAM. which is one of the most influential models for explaining user acceptance of IT, an intention to use IT is determined by usefulness and ease of use. Given that interaction between user and website takes place through web interface, the decisions to accept and continue using an ISM depend on these beliefs. However, TAM neglects to consider the fact that many users would not stick to an ISM until they trust it although they may think it useful and easy to use. The importance of trust for user acceptance of ISM has been raised by the relational views. The relational view emphasizes the trust-building process between the user and ISM, and user's trust on the website is a major determinant of user acceptance. The proposed model extends and integrates the TAM and relational views on user acceptance of ISM by incorporating usefulness, ease of use, and trust. User acceptance is defined as a user's intention to reuse a specific ISM. And user ability is introduced into the model as moderating variable. Here, the user ability is defined as a degree of experiences, knowledge and skills regarding Internet shopping sites. The research model proposes that the ease of use, usefulness and trust of ISM are key determinants of user acceptance. In addition, this paper hypothesizes that the effects of the antecedents(i.e., ease of use, usefulness, and trust) on user acceptance may differ among users. In particular, this paper proposes a moderating effect of a user's ability on the relationship between antecedents with user's intention to reuse. The research model with eleven hypotheses was derived and tested through a survey that involved 470 university students. For each research variable, this paper used measurement items recognized for reliability and widely used in previous research. We slightly modified some items proper to the research context. The reliability and validity of the research variables were tested using the Crobnach's alpha and internal consistency reliability (ICR) values, standard factor loadings of the confirmative factor analysis, and average variance extracted (AVE) values. A LISREL method was used to test the suitability of the research model and its relating six hypotheses. Key findings of the results are summarized in the following. First, TAM's two constructs, ease of use and usefulness directly affect user acceptance. In addition, ease of use indirectly influences user acceptance by affecting trust. This implies that users tend to trust a shopping site and visit repeatedly when they perceive a specific ISM easy to use. Accordingly, designing a shopping site that allows users to navigate with heuristic and minimal clicks for finding information and products within the site is important for improving the site's trust and acceptance. Usefulness, however, was not found to influence trust. Second, among the three belief constructs(ease of use, usefulness, and trust), trust was empirically supported as the most important determinants of user acceptance. This implies that users require trustworthiness from an Internet shopping site to be repeat visitors of an ISM. Providing a sense of safety and eliminating the anxiety of online shoppers in relation to privacy, security, delivery, and product returns are critically important conditions for acquiring repeat visitors. Hence, in addition to usefulness and ease of use as in TAM, trust should be a fundamental determinants of user acceptance in the context of internet shopping. Third, the user's ability on using an Internet shopping site played a moderating role. For users with low ability, ease of use was found to be a more important factors in deciding to reuse the shopping mall, whereas usefulness and trust had more effects on users with high ability. Applying the EML theory to these findings, we can suggest that experienced and knowledgeable ISM users tend to elaborate on such usefulness aspects as efficient and effective shopping performance and trust factors as ability, benevolence, integrity, and predictability of a shopping site before they become repeat visitors of the site. In contrast, novice users tend to rely on the low elaborating features, such as the perceived ease of use. The existence of moderating effects suggests the fact that different individuals evaluate an ISM from different perspectives. The expert users are more interested in the outcome of the visit(usefulness) and trustworthiness(trust) than those novice visitors. The latter evaluate the ISM in a more superficial manner focusing on the novelty of the site and on other instrumental beliefs(ease of use). This is consistent with the insights proposed by the Heuristic-Systematic model. According to the Heuristic-Systematic model. a users act on the principle of minimum effort. Thus, the user considers an ISM heuristically, focusing on those aspects that are easy to process and evaluate(ease of use). When the user has sufficient experience and skills, the user will change to systematic processing, where they will evaluate more complex aspects of the site(its usefulness and trustworthiness). This implies that an ISM has to provide a minimum level of ease of use to make it possible for a user to evaluate its usefulness and trustworthiness. Ease of use is a necessary but not sufficient condition for the acceptance and use of an ISM. Overall, the empirical results generally support the proposed model and identify the moderating effect of the effects of user ability. More detailed interpretations and implications of the findings are discussed. The limitations of this study are also discussed to provide directions for future research.

증강현실을 활용한 상황인지기반의 편재형 자동차 정비 서비스 (Ubiquitous Car Maintenance Services Using Augmented Reality and Context Awareness)

  • Ubiquitous computing is a vision of our future computing lifestyle in which computer systems seamlessly integrate into our everyday lives, providing services and information in anywhere and anytime fashion. Augmented reality (AR) can naturally complement ubiquitous computing by providing an intuitive and collaborative visualization and simulation interface to a three-dimensional information space embedded within physical reality. This paper presents a service framework and its applications for providing context-aware u-car maintenance services using augmented reality, which can support a rich set of ubiquitous services and collaboration. It realizes bi-augmentation between physical and virtual spaces using augmented reality. It also offers a context processing module to acquire, interpret and disseminate context information. In particular, the context processing module considers user's preferences and security profile for providing private and customer-oriented services. The prototype system has been implemented to support 3D animation, TTS (Text-to-Speech), augmented manual, annotation, and pre- and post-augmentation services in ubiquitous car service environments.
