This paper presents a novel method for evaluating the usefulness of online product recommendation. Previous studies on evaluating recommendation systems have mostly relied on two methods : testing the accuracy of estimating user preferences by recommendation systems, or empirically testing the effectiveness with lab experiments involving human participants. The former does not measure the usefulness directly and hence can be misleading; the latter is expensive in that it requires a working online store System and test participants. In order to address the problems, the proposed approach uses simulation to imitate customer behavior and evaluate the usefulness of recommendation. Models for user behavior and an abstract Internet store are developed for simulation. Actual simulation experiments are performed to illustrate the use of the approach.

This study is a nationwide survey of Korean public libraries to identify and analyze the usefulness of 69 evaluation indicators of a public library proposed by the authors in the previous paper. A random sample of respondents including library managers, librarians, and users rated the usefulness of each indicator in assessing the performance of a public library. The results of this study could be used as the basic data in the evaluation of public libraries by selecting appropriate indicators and giving weight on each indicator according to the specific evaluation purpose.

With a rapid growth of the internet shopping mall consumer according to popularization of the internet, it is possible for the general public to get information covering a wide range a wide range go easily and companies attempt to apply review a new marketing means. The present paper aims to research investigated the Evaluation method of Reviews by the Experienced Review. In order to achieve the purpose of this study, carried out literature study of a related field. Through these methods, we were able to obtain participation of 166 people from student a college woman. Using 149 responses derived statistics by means of Win SPSS Version 12.0 statistics program package. The analysis results are the on-line customer review is composed of four dimensions that is expertise factor, trustworthiness factor and usefulness factor, evaluation factor.

Although many organizations have implemented and used ERP systems for years, industry reports point out that the usage level does not reach their expectation. As a result, they do not enjoy the benefits from the investment into ERP systems. This study attempts to develop a research model and test the model empirically for identifying factors that affect the usage of an ERP system at a public organization. This study has classified potential factors into three groups of technical system characteristics (usability, usefulness), organizational support characteristics (operational support, education and training, evaluation and measurement), and user characteristics (organizational citizenship, self-efficacy). Then, a structural equation model has been established on the basis of previous literature and tested with empirical data. In summary, this study has found that self-efficacy, usefulness, and operational support have an effect on the ERP usage. Self-efficacy is the strongest factor; Usefulness is the second; and the third is operational support. On the contrary to the previous literature, this study has not found a significant effect of organizational citizenship on the usage. The result confirms that an organization can increase the ERP usage by improving the usefulness of an ERP system to some extent. However, to boost the usage further, the result implies that organizations need to strengthen the self-efficacy of their members by reinforcing operational support, providing education and training steadily, and establishing an evaluation mechanism in relation with the ERP usage.

The purpose of this study is to develope a criterion for evaluation on game-style courseware by the application of HCI theory. The HCI theory, which deals with principles or methods for developing systems people can use conveniently and pleasantly, has been applied to overall area of program development. And it also has been widely used to evaluate learning programs. However, there have been few studies on a game-style courseware evaluation on the basis of the HCI theory. Thus, it is necessary to apply the HCI theory to studies on the game-style courseware evaluation. This paper shows that evaluation criteria are developed on three viewpoint bases : usefulness, usability, and affect which are as elements in HCI. The evaluation criteria developed in this paper can be applied to a basis for evaluation on game-style coursewares.

To evaluation of clinical usefulness for B1+RMS limits, we compared image quality of Routine, Specific absorption rate (SAR) and Root mean square (RMS) protocol. 5 volunteers underwent Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scan of the brain using three different protocols. We draw Region of interest ROI in cortex, white matter, gray matter, putamen and thalamus of axial plan. Signal to noise ratio (SNR) were evaluated in each area and Contrast to noise ration (CNR) were evaluated between white matter and gray matter. Qualitative evaluation was used to score each ROI. B1+RMS is confirmed its usefulness compared to conventional SAR standard on the aspect of improvement of image quality, reduction of scan time and easy adjusting parameter.

The necessity of an empirical study on how projection mapping videos are evaluated from consumers' point of view has arisen, as they can lead to visual pollution if factors including spatial characteristics around the structure and details of the contents are not taken into consideration. This study aims to evaluate projection mapping videos and elucidate the question on whether evaluation criteria positively influence the satisfaction level or not. Above all, five evaluation criteria including artistry, creativity, identity, immersion and usefulness were deducted and a hypothesis from preceding research "each evaluation criteria will positively(+) influence the satisfaction level of projection mapping video" has been established. In order to test the hypothesis, big domestic department stores which screened projection mapping videos were selected and a verification experiment has been conducted with ordinary citizens as subjects. In the result of the experiment, among the five evaluation criteria, artistry, creativity, and usefulness were chosen, while identity and immersion were dismissed. The result verifies that if useful information is provided in forms of interesting contents produced with distinctive ideas and creative methods, it will satisfy the consumers as attractive public design.

This research aims to analyze the usefulness of biological resources from the perspective of the users from various angles and after taking these factors into consideration, provide policy implication and scientific criteria for judging and choosing useful biological resources. Among biological resources defined in CBD, the subject of the research was confined to the biological resource as a unit which can be actually used in benefit sharing and trade. Also, among diverse values of biological resources, the usefulness was assessed focusing on the utility value and scarcity. Usefulness was rated on a scale of 1 to 5 (5 grades). The rating was adjusted for the biological resources that need to be managed as a part of the management policy. It is expected that the criteria of this study will be useful for the following: (1) the procurement of biological resources in the need for primary protection and management (2) the utilization of secured biological resources by analyzing their utility value and using them in biological resources industry (3) securement of sovereignty over biological resources, such as prior access permit under the Nagoya protocol, through management and protection of biological resources in Korea.

Purpose : The purpose of this study was to investigate the usefulness of clinical balance tests through the correlation of balance evaluation using by forceplate in elderly. Methods : Thirty nine healthy elderly subjects (14 males, 25 females) participated in the study. The subjects were evaluated with clinical balance tests [(Berg balance scale (BBS), Functional reach test (FRT), Tinetti's performance oriented mobility assessment (POMA), and one leg standing (OLS)]. Static balance evaluation was assessed by using forceplate. Center of pressure (COP) parameters were obtained using it as total path distance, total sway area, X mean frequency and Y mean frequency for 20 seconds in the following conditions: (1) comfortable standing with eyes opened and closed, (2) uncomfortable standing with eyes opened and closed. After static balance evaluation tested, dynamic balance evaluation was assessed. COP parameters were error distance and area during sine curve trace. COP parameters were movement time, error distance, and maintained time in the circle during COP movement task. Results : Clinical balance tests showed statistically significant correlation between static and dynamic balance evaluations. Among the clinical balance tests, the BBS, POMA, and OLS showed significant correlation with to assess the balance ability of elderly in clinical setting both evaluations. Conclusion : Clinical balance tests can be recommended in clinical setting because of low costs and simplicity.
