An automatic grading algorithm was developed to replace the manual trading of white ginseng. The algorithm consists of three consecutive stages, (a) image acquisition and preprocessing, (b) mathematical feature extraction, and (c) grade decision using artificial neural network. Mathematical features such as area ratio, mean and standard deviation of graylevel, skewness of graylevel histogram, and the number of run segment are extracted from five equally divided parts of ginseng. An artificial neural network model was used to classify white ginsengs into three categories. The performance of the algorithm was evaluated using 120 ginseng samples and the rate of successful classification was 74%.

Available transfer capability(ATC) is an important indicator of the usable amount of transmission capacity accessible by several parties for commercial trading in power transaction activities. This paper deals with an application of optimization technique for available transfer capability(ATC) calculation and analyzes the results of ATC by considering several constraints. Especially several optimization techniques are used to solve the ATC problem with state-steady security constraints. The results are compared with that of repeat power flow(RPF), sequential quadratic programming(SQP) and linear programming(LP). The proposed method is applied to 10 machines 39 buses model systems to show its effectiveness.

Since Capital Asset Pricing Model(CAPM) was proposed in the early 1960s by William Sharpe(1964) and John Lintner(1965) researchers have investigated the validity of the model. The results of empirical researches do not show that expected returns of stocks seem to be determined solely by systematic risk of the stocks as precicted by CAPM. In this paper the relationship between transaction volume and expected returns of stocks was investigated. Empirical cross-sectional analysis about the data collected from Stock Market of Korea Exchange shows transaction volume and variability of stock returns play an important role in pricing assets. The well-known variables which were used traditionally to explain the differences of expected returns among stocks such as the size and beta of a stock seems to be unimportant in pricing assets.

So far. the common elasticity data of textile fabrics has not been present because the method depends on the knowledge of measurement operators. In this paper, the new measurement equipment using road cel1 is presented to measure the coefficient of textile fabrics in real time. The measurement method is based on the volta among textile fabrics. The textiles with strong elasticity are high voltage produced from others are low. The presented method can be applied to visualize the textile, sew the cloth, control textile fabrics. Also. these measurement datum are used to B2B electronic trading system.

Since the advance of WWW, internet related fields have been growing very rapidly. Especially, the development of electronic commerce ares have changed even or life style. This paper is about the design and implementation of an internet auction system, which is considered as on of the most attractive internet services. An internet auction system has more complex processes compared with other electronic commerce systems. In auction systems, bids and a successful bid are required in trading all goods. In this paper, I designed and implemented all processes of an internet auction system, in which a bid tracing systems is included for the first time. The bid tracing system is implemented using only HTTP in maintain compatibility in WWW environment. I also used th JAVA blocking concept to simulate two-way communication. The proposed system is implemented on Windows NT environment using JAVA, ASP, and the Oracle database.

This paper predicts how mobile Internet portal services will go ahead and what contents will be needed at the portal site. Mobile Internet interface needs to be concise and compressed because of the size of terminals Thus mobile internal service wants integrated portal service We study the service strategy for mobile internet portal Service according to the product life cycle Many Korean people who have used 'wired and fixed' Internet services and mobile phones want the mobile Internet portal to provide many attractive functions and high quality of service Thus we consider the current Korean mobile Internet service as the maturity phase of its life cycle The maturity phase needs the strategy of diversifying and focusing on, thus we recommend the hub portal model for Korean mobile Internet service, In this paper, we survey contents of mobile Internet portal service as a case study. With the result of the analysis, we present the promising contents as follows: video conference service, financial service, stock trading service, traffic information service, location map service, emergency rescue service, and so on.

In this paper, we review widely used methods to extract local volatility surfaces (LVSs) from implied volatility surfaces (IVSs) and suggest a model averaging method for constructing implied and local volatility surfaces weighted by trading volumes. It makes use of model averaging method by means of bandwidth priors, and then produces a robust LVS estimation. The method is shown to provide the information about the confidence interval of estimators as well as a rather less variable weighted mean value for the IVS and LVS. To show the merits of our proposed method, we conduct simulations on equity-linked warrants (ELWs) with reasonable and acceptable results.

The amount of digital content grows exponentially by the development of the internet and the change of computing environments and the target also is getting wider. The industry using this digital content has been growing greatly. However, the distribution of pirated digital content is increasing using internet because digital content is easy to store and transmit and the damage is growing. In this paper, we propose safety trading system which can conceal the author's information safely in digital content in order to block illegal distribution of digital content. ARIA encryption algorithm is used to protect the concealed information of author in digital content and it is a help to track the illegal traders by doing fingerprinting of buyer information to digital content and managing the transaction information. The technical support for copyright dispute is to allow by providing the capability to verify illegal edit to original digital contents.

Korean property and liability insurance companies have underwrited hull insurance without proper undrewriting ability. But after April 1996. in case of Korean insurance market being opened the companies have to make hull insurance rate by themselves. Accordingly, in this study, the writer embodies important factors in making hull insurance rate by an empirical survey. In empirical survey, the writer used a questionnaire, 74 proper data was obtained from 96 officers working in making hull insurance rate in 12 Korean property and liablity insurance companies and 24 the foreign companies at home. Reliability was tested by Cronbach's Alpha and a conceptual validity by Factor Analysis. Hypothesis estabilished in this study was tested by Correlation and Multiple Regression Analysis. Results of testing hypothesis are as follows: Firstly, the traits of insurer and the assured influence significantly(P<0.05) on making hull insurance rate. Secondly, expected loss ratio, ship manager, ship's age, insured amount, level of the cost of repairing and salvage, shipowner, period of insurance, level of overseas rating, profit and expense, trading limits, ship's classification, conditions of insurance, and ship's size influence significantly(P<0.05) on making hull insurance rate.
