  • Smart phones play a significant part in the evolution IT industry. In domestic market, smart phones have grown rapidly. However, until today, precedent studies on smart phones, particularly about the reason why consumers use smart phones are uncommon. Thus, in this study we adopted IS continuance and habit theory to study smart phones' use behavior. The results reveal that perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use, satisfaction of smart phone usage, continuous use, and habit showed the causes and effects relationships. The results indicated that perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use had a positive effect on smart phone user satisfaction. Moreover, smart phone user satisfaction had a positive effect on the smart phone habits and explorative use. However, smart phone user satisfaction showed insignificant effect toward exploitive use. That is, satisfied users regularly use the smart phone but need to formulate habit of use, and then influence exploitive use. Habit showed a positive effect on both exploitive use and explorative use, Finally, we found that users are likely to pay more attention on new features of smart phones while they are using the devices.

  • Anxiety and anxiety disorders are one of the most common and most serious psychiatric problems. Anti-anxiety drugs are one of the most effective treatment method for these problems. Benzodiazepines have various side-effects and the risk of overuse and abuse. Therefore, physicians should prescribe benzodiazepines carefully. However, they should not be discouraged from prescribing benzodiazepines when they have a knowledge of the pharmacological characteristics of these drugs and there is a clear indication for their use. Generally speaking, problems of benzodiazepine use such as dependence withdrawal symptoms, and cognitive impairment are more likely to occur with high dose, long-term use(more than 4 months), in geriatric patients and patients with a history of alcohol or other sustance abuse. But long-term or high-dose use can be jusified for patients with panic disorder of agoraphobia, and medically-ill patients with persistent anxiety that cannot be otherwise treated. In summary, there cannot be a general prescribing formulation for benzodiazepine use. Physician should always make their decision based on the individual patient's risk/benefit factors.

  • The valuation of biodiversity is a fundamental step in conservation. The useful framework for analysing the economic value of biological resources is that of total economic value (TEV) and TEV comprises both use and non-use values, the former related to an actual use made of the resource, the latter to a willingness to pay for the resource independently of any use made of it. There are several valuation approacher in environmental economics literature. However, stated preference approach should be introduced for valuation of biodiversity because it can estimate non-use value as well as use value. Contingent Valuation and Conjoint Analysis are representative methods in stated preference and Conjoint Analysis can be more useful for valuation of biodiversity. Futhermore, the combination of ecology and economics to assess biodiversity leads to an integrated framework. Thus, interdisciplinary work is required, involving both economists and ecologists transferring elements or even theories and models from one discipline to another and transforming them for their specific, mutually consistent purpose.

  • This study attempted to empirically investigate the difference in the Advertising Acceptance Attitudes of pre-roll advertisements according to the Use Motivation and Use Intensity of YouTube, which act as important factors in using YouTube. For this study, a survey targeted to both male and female university students was conducted, 200 people's data being used for the analysis. First research result was that positive attitude towards advertisement based on the Youtube Use Motivation was higher for the group who pursue narrative identities than the group who habitually use intention and pursue amusement. For avoidance behavior, the group who habitually use intention and pursue amusement was higher than the group who pursue narrative identities. Second, for the positive attitude towards advertisement based on Youtube Use Intensity, the group with higher Use Intensity showed an optimistic attitude relative to the group with lower Use Intensity. However, there was no difference in the avoidance behavior for advertisement. These following results imply that a strategy considering the Use Pattern based on the Use Motivation and Use Intensity of the users is needed in enforcing YouTube pre-roll advertisements.

  • Purpose - This study focuses on new type distribution channel that named as Omnichannel. Omnichannel is developed from Multichannel which is used in many distribution channels to buy or selling goods. Omnichannel basically needs an Information and Communications Technologies(ICT) to use, so researcher conduct a Technology Acceptance Model(TAM) to research model. Customer-brand relationship was used as dependent variable to focus on the role of Omnichannel. Research design, data, and methodology - The subject of this study is customer who purchase goods or service through omnichannel. Based on the literature from the preceding research analysis of TAM and customer-brand relationship, this study was constructed by the reference to previous studies, final research model design for figure out casual relationship among perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, omnichannel use and customer-brand relationship. From 2016 February 3 to March 17, questionnaire survey targeted customers who use online and offline channels. 273 questionnaire survey had conducted, then, 252 survey data were available for empirical analysis. Researcher provide descriptive statistics for checking generality. Cronbach's alpha value was used to check the reliability of data. Exploratory factor analysis was used for purification of values and eigenvalue checking. After EFA, Confirmatory factor analysis was used to prepare structural equation modeling with executing structural equation modeling for confirming hypothesis which developed by researcher. Results - The main results of this empirical study are as follows. First, omnichannel's perceived ease of use has positive significant effect on perceived usefulness(estimate: 0.579). Moreover, omnichannel's perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness has positive significant effect on omnichannel use(estimate: 0.325,0.648). Second, using omnichannel has positive significant effect on brand-customer relationship(estimate: 0.521). Every hypothesis adopted as researcher designed. This study found out the intermediate relationship between perceived ease of use and omnichannel use by investigating hypothesis. Conclusions - Base on the empirical result, this study confirmed that TAM theory perceived has relation with omnichannel. First, factors of TAM has positive effect on omnichannel use, so it highlights the important role of customer based interface and usefulness. Especially, perceived usefulness has high indirect influence on ease of use and use of omnichannel. It seems that when customers try to decide use or not use omnichannel, customers focus on percept benefits from omnichannel. Thus, a provider should applicate attractive price table, accurate product or service information and high switching cost strategy to emphasize the usefulness of omnichannel. Second, using omnichannel enhances the relationship between customers and brand, because there are more time and frequency to serve customers. It is important because good relationship between customers can increase the future's financial performance through word of mouse, positive brand image and loyalty to brand or company. Finally, despite of empirical result and implications, this study has limitations. First, there are only a few previous studies about omnicahnnel, so literature reviews are restricted. While set up the factors which can affect the use of omnichannel, next study should be considered with broader theories or models(ex: contingency theory). Second, omnichannel has developed from multichannel, so comparative analysis is needed between these methods because there is a possibility about different forte character of each distribution system on customer's consuming patterns.

  • The Korean government is planning to invest a lot of funds for conservation of the soil. Accordingly, it needs quantitative information on the soil. This paper attempts to analyze the total value of soil quantitatively: the total economic value of soil can be divided into use value and non-use value. To this end, we apply a replacement cost method (RCM) and contingent valuation method (CVM). Especially, CVM is most widely used to measure the non-use value such as environment goods. We employed the one-and-one-half-bounded dichotomous choice (OOHBDC) for willingness to pay (WTP) elicitation and a spike model. The monthly mean WTP was estimated to be KRW 3,949 per household for the next 10 years, which is statistically significant at the 1% level. Expanding the value to the relevant population gives us KRW 897.9 billion per year and as of the end of 2015, the non-use value of soil was assessed to be KRW 838.6 billion. Meanwhile, use value is subdivided into direct use value and indirect use value. This value was calculated KRW 3,277 trillion and KRW 51.8 trillion, respectively. As a result, total economic value of soil is estimated to be KRW 3,330 trillion in Korea.

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to explore the influential factors of family function, parent-child communication, and family satisfaction on Korean adolescents game use. Methods: The participants were 940 adolescents in Seoul. A structured questionnaire was used to collect data. The study variables were family function, parent-child communication, family satisfaction, and game use. Results: Game use was different by gender, age, time to spend in game during weekdays and weekend. Game use had significant negative correlations with family cohesion, family adaptability, communication with father, communication with mother, and family satisfaction. Multiple regression analysis showed that 20.3% of the game use was explained by gender, communication with mother, hours of playing games during weekdays, family adaptability, and hours of playing games during weekend. Conclusions: These results suggest that being male and lack of communication with mother, low family adaptability, game hours during weekdays and weekend can be potential risk factors for excessive game use in the adolescents, which should by considered in developing a prevention program for excessive game use focused on family factors.

  • Land-use change has an important role in the hydrologic characteristics of watersheds because it alters various hydrologic components such as interception, infiltration, and evapotranspiration. For example, rapid urbanization in a watershed reduces infiltration rates and increases peak flow which lead to changes in the hydrologic responses. In this study, a physical hydrologic model the soil and water assessment tool (SWAT) was used to assess long-term continuous daily streamflow corresponding to land-use changes that occurred in the Naesungchun river watershed. For a 30-year model simulation, 3 different land-use maps of the 1990s, 2000s, and 2010s were used to identify the impacts of the land-use changes. Using SWAT-CUP (calibration and uncertainty program), an automated parameter calibration tool, 23 parameters were selected, optimized and compared with the daily streamflow data observed at the upstream, midstream and downstream locations of the watershed. The statistical indexes used for the model calibration and validation show that the model performance is improved at the downstream location of the Naesungchun river. The simulated streamflow in the mainstream considering land-use change increases up to -2 - 30 cm compared with the results simulated with the single land-use map. However, the difference was not significant in the tributaries with or without the impact of land-use change.

  • Objectives: The aim of this study was to identify risk factors of alcohol use disorder among Korean adults. Methods: Cross-sectional exploratory study based on data collected from Data from the 6th Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey in 2015 were performed in this study. There were 3,248 participants who were 2,558 normal drinkers while 690 had alcohol use disorder. Decision tree analysis were used to exam socio-demographic and health-related factors to predict alcohol use disorder. Results: As a result of decision tree analysis, the predictive model for factors related to alcohol use disorder in Korean adults presented with 8 pathways. The significant predictors of alcohol use disorder were age, gender, smoking, marital status, and house income. Male smokers whose household income is 'high' or 'low' are most vulnerable to alcohol use disorders. Conclusions: This study indicates that need to consider health behavior and house income when we practice prevention policies and health education of alcohol use disorder.

  • It has been argued that Enterprise systems (ES) implementations are overshadowed by a high failure rate despite their promised benefits. One of the commonly cited reasons for ES implementation failures in the context of mandatory use is end-user's unwillingness or sabotage to adopt or use systems. Considering that the appropriate management of expectations may play an important role in making positive behavior toward newly implemented systems, this study examines the effect of outcome expectations on the system use activity in the mandatory use context of information systems from the Social Cognitive Theory perspective. Structural equation model analysis using LISREL 8.7 provides significant support for the proposed relationships. The empirical results suggest that outcome expectations and user satisfaction have positive effects on system use activity conceptualized by immersion, reinvention, and learning. Theoretical and practical implications of the study shed some light on how to improve system use activity in the mandatory use context of information systems.
